Whatever he decides to go with, he should detach from using "Washington" in the trademark name or any part of the city in the logo. Just be the Wolves, the Warriors, the Cocksmokers, or whatever.
Troll the reasoning for all it's worth. He's part of the problem, but the stadium never sells out and the field is total shit. It's now strictly business. Sell out to the highest bidder, cheapest stadium deal, and biggest fanbase, run up the value before death gets close and then sell out to the highest bidding owner and buy a big chunk of a reservation to play cowboy and indians with bunch of whores on while dementia sets in.
