He's a FA after next year. It's more realistic Veach lets his contract run out and he becomes a FA after the 2020 season.

I hope we keep Sorenson, and I think we probably do. He's versatile, great on special teams, and has proven his worth. With that said, there are only 3 players you could realistically think about cutting that provide a larger cap savings than Sorenson.
Sammy Watkins: $14 million in cap savings
LDT: $5 million in cap savings
Damien Wilson: $4.5 million in cap savings
Daniel Sorenson: $3.75 million in cap savings
If the Chiefs hit on a player like Dugger and believe he can step in right away and play Sorenson's role, it becomes more likely that he'll be cut.
