Not gonna damn Luck, but I ain't gonna lionize him either.

He's a dude who made a business decision.

He played the position that everyone says is the key to winning championships, in a sport where winning championships is the only thing that matters, and he didn't win or even compete in the final for a championship, and he decided to stop.

Good for him, sad for those invested in him. Meh, next.

Entertainment at every level is frivolous. It's what we do with our free time. It can be inspiring or frustrating or even devastating. But in the end, it's what we expend resources on that we gathered through our own work.

There's either a tacit contract that it's about more than the money, and the entertainers and entertained owe EACH OTHER something, or it's just another transaction, and when the money ends so does the entertainment, and vice versa.

Some dude tried, . . . he made progress, . . on the main metric he failed, . . . he got paid, and he's done. . . . End of story, . . . Next up?
