For perspective, the throw he made to Robinson was about 25 yards in the air off his back foot. He needed to more than double that throw (which was incredible) and do it over the middle of the field.
It was a silly decision.

Throwing it as he did was definitely a poor decision. Had he taken a beat to set and throw, he's got the arm to make that throw. Would be interesting to know if he saw a shrinking window with the other safety coming across the field and tried to fit it in quickly, or if he just got excited and didn't realize he had time to set.
Either way, rookies will make rookie mistakes. The fact that it was nearly complete is kind of crazy, given how he threw it.
