In fact, I won a bet with a guy when in Vegas about this. Dinner at Ruth's Chris with my choice of wine. Fortunately, the waiter new his shit about meat and I was somewhat reserved in my wine choice. The dinner only ended up costing the dude $750.

I was making no judgment regarding which was correct, just that in KC they're called KC strips.
