All he has to do is catch passes thrown his way, and week 1 will be quickly forgotten.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-14-2023 09:20 AM

Blah blah blah. Catch the ****ing ball that's how

Completely agree. He had a REALLY bad week of football. Winning and success fixes everything. He just needs to do his job.

The only problem is if he gets Watsoned for a bad game
That's only fan perception

Fake news... he deleted his IG a few days before the Lions game.

Step 1 is to admit you have a problem. It's also the hardest step.

From what I can see, unless he's hiding something, he's already accomplished step 1. I'll feel a lot better when i see him actually eliminate the drops, but I feel a lot better just seeing him admit his mistakes.

One of his "drops" was batted down by the DB and another was the fault of James, who ran a bad route and blocked Toney's vision.

Toney really only had two true drops, and even one of those was thrown behind him and wasn't an easy grab.

I’m willing to forgive and forget

But dude needs to get off of social media and stop jawing off. That to me feels like hes learned his lesson but also kinda not.

Given that he had a huge hand in winning the Super Bowl last year, I'll forgive him a Week 1 loss to the Lions.

That assumes, of course, that we win the Super Bowl again this year. But we will.

Sounds like he's in a good head space, glad to hear it!

You got this Toney!

New World Order 09-14-2023 11:07 AM

He's an NFL receiver.

He can catch. He has caught before and he will catch again! Mark my words or else...

That's pretty presumptive, did someone with knowledge of the routes and play call say that James ran the wrong route or are you just saying it to say it?

And try not to break his ankles or knees when moving away from tacklers would be great too.

I think RaidersoftheCellar may be giving him a bit too much credit. However, that particular play was James' fault for not running his mesh route short enough. Go look at the discussion with Steve Smith and breakdown of the drops.
