Car-nal Desires: Round 1, Heat 17
We have 84 entries in the tournament, and we'll collectively narrow the list down to the one Chiefsplanet dream car.
PICK TWO FROM EACH LIST ON THE POLL. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...2&postcount=12 1969 GTO Judge in competition orange with a black convertible top https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...6&postcount=37 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T Convertible https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=128 Ferris Bueller Ferrari https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...7&postcount=41 Recall the rules below. (Rule #5 was modified slightly from the nomination thread.) 1. This vehicle will be yours at no purchase cost. 2. You will keep your current vehicles, so no need to worry about fitting a baby seat in it or being able to haul mulch. 3. You're responsible for parking it. 4. You pay for gas or electricity. 5. Insurance and maintenance up to $3,000 per month is free to you. You cover the next $1,000 if the expenses are higher, and then after that the expenses are covered. So for a high-end vehicle you'll cover a max of $1,000 per month. 6. The vehicle must be street-legal. 7. The vehicle must actually exist. It cannot be a cartoon or concept drawing. However, it can be a production vehicle, a concept vehicle, a custom vehicle, or anything else that is real. 8. The vehicle being nominated is the exact vehicle shown. You cannot change the color, the interior, the engine size, etc. 9. You cannot use the vehicle to make money. It's only for your personal use. 10. You cannot sell the vehicle. 11. Any type of street-legal vehicle is allowed. You can nominate a car, a truck, a minivan, an RV, a semi-truck, a motorcyle, a classic car, a school bus, whatever. As long as it meets the rules above, it's eligible. |
Boss 429 - now we're talking muscle cars. That's a gimme.
I'm torn between the other three. I think the Challenger is my least favorite, so it's out. The competition orange GTO has no picture so I have to use my imagination or google image search. On image search it's a sweet machine. The Ferrari is a very nice car, but not really my style. I'll go Boss and GTO to keep Detroit vibrant. |
The 250GT California.
Probably the greatest convertible ever built. Gotta get the first vote without any hesitation. Of the 3 muscle cars I’ll take the Challenger. Just more fun. |
It’s funny but when you watch Ferris Buehler you think of that car as a hell of a car.
What you DON’T think of it as is a damn unicorn. Something like 35 ever built and a cheap one goes for about $12 million these days. Y’know what? It IS his fault he didn’t lock the garage… |
This round is honestly the strongest I've seen so far.
Boss and Ferris Ferrari for me. No regrets, but I'd vote for the other two in many of the other rounds. |
This round sucks. Not one of those cars should be eliminated.
Damn you Rain Man, damn you! Mustang and Challenger.....................I guess. |
I don't much care for convertibles

Hard to vote against the other 2. |
The Spyder is an $18.5M automobile, just to keep things real.
Boss and Judge for me. |
Judge and Ferris
|
Not to judge, but the Pontiac and the Dodge feel like a lot of other cars in this challenge already.
I'm going to vote like a boss and go with the Mustang and the Ferarri to keep things interesting down the road. |
Mustang and Ferrari. Easy picks for me this round.
|
Very strong round, but the Boss Mustang and the Ferrari are the cream that rise to the top.
|
I've driven all but the Ferrari and I'll have to say the GTO (Ram Air III) was the most fun. The Mustang and Dodge were a little light in the back end and hard to corner at high speeds. I'll go with the GTO and Mustang.
|
Mustang and Ferrari. Tough heat but not a big fan of convertible muscle cars.
