What Chiefs had to overcome

Refs for Brady
Missing 4 offensive line starters
Bucs getting to play at home
Mahomes hurt
Showing up 1 day before game
Britt accident

All of that before the first snap. Drops then killed us today as much as anything. Had the Chiefs won, I think it would have been more impressive than the loss is depressive. You can't overcome all of that. When Fisher went down, our chances dropped a ton. We could have done it with a few changes (would have loved to have seen the game with the interception in the first half nullified by a terrible holding call). Still, nothing was going the Chiefs way going in.

it is what it is.
no excuses accepted.

They let Brady sit in the pocket with no pressure or sacks and pick them apart.

End.

I agree with this completely. We were outplayed from start to finish. I just meant that I think we were starting in a bigger hole than most (including myself) realized. Mahomes never had a chance to wait for something to develop.

Chiefs have no Plan B/no run game, the stupid sequence at the end of the first half was the biggest thing to cover come, 14-6 to 21-6 changed the game

Good points.

Don't forget to add zero halftime adjustments. :shake:

How do you make an adjustment at half? I mean out starting super bowl tackles made a whooping 1.6M between the two of them, lets not be surprised they got rolled by a good defense.

Leaving in an extra blocker would be a start. What was it? 48 of 52 pass plays just had five blockers I believe I saw.

Was pulling my hair out on that sequence at the end of the 1st. Brutal.

This throw was just ridiculous

Yep. In SB 48, the Broncos were missing almost 11 starters including the left tackle, and yet they were good enough to get there. It happens. No excuses. TB played better game. It doesn't mean the Chiefs suck.

MahomesMagic 02-08-2021 09:22 AM

Even the Chiefs defense depends on Mahomes. Without the threat of our offense scoring it allows the opposing team to pick apart our D in a methodical manner.

I picked Tampa to get here to play the Chiefs. Loaded with talent. Unfortunately the way it went our stars never got off the ground due to the OL.

jd1020 02-08-2021 09:23 AM

Don't forget about Andy Reid looking at the Buccs defense not even disguising their game plan the entire game and Reid sitting there through 4 quarters saying

When people asked me what I thought about the game coming up, I referenced the Broncos/Seattle game.

One friend asked me if I thought the Chiefs were going to do that to TB, I said no, the other way.

I hate being right. It wouldn't have been as bad with even officiating in the game, but TB brought it and the Chiefs folded.
