Is Patrick already your favorite Chief of all time?

I realized tonight that’s he’s already in the 1 spot for me, which is crazy, because he’s only on his second real season. You?

- I was a neighbor of Will Shields growing up, and he was so kind and awesome to me when I was a kid. He was always up top.

- Derrick Thomas was always up there for me as well.

- Jamal Charles is up there.

- Priest was up there, before he got weird and ate nachos.

- My CP namesake, Dante Hall, was a personal favorite.

- I thought it would be Eric Berry, but we know how that turned out.

Pablo 09-21-2019 10:00 PM

Yes and it's not even close.

New World Order 09-21-2019 10:01 PM

Jewish Rabbi 09-21-2019 10:01 PM

I'd suck his dick, if that's what you're asking.

We had some greats that went to other teams and ****ed up their chances at being GOAT CHIEF which sucks

Bump 09-21-2019 10:03 PM

yup. Even though I love DT and Will Shields. But nothing beats a QB like Mahomes.

Red Dawg 09-21-2019 10:04 PM

Yes but it's close. Not much not to like about Shields.

J Diddy 09-21-2019 10:05 PM

Derrick was what started me down the path. I say he’s my fav and pats a close second. I love the kid.

RealSNR 09-21-2019 10:06 PM

1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Pat Mahomes Sr.
3. Terrance Copper

DaFace 09-21-2019 10:07 PM

He's certainly brought me more moments of joy as a fan more than anyone else. Maybe everyone else combined.

FlaChief58 09-21-2019 10:08 PM

DT will probably always be #1 for me, but PMII is a very close 2nd

TribalElder 09-21-2019 10:08 PM

yes

Hog's Gone Fishin 09-21-2019 10:09 PM

Yes. Before now the only one that I really really loved was DT until DT let us down his last year or two. Seemed like he just didn't have his head in it.

Now with Mahomes, he plays the most important position on the team and he's just perfect in every way. If you were to order a QB from a catalog and check off the traits and skills you'd want him to have, well, we got that with all the boxes checked.

BossChief 09-21-2019 10:09 PM

Mack "The Truck" Lee Hill.

Signed on as a free agent out of Southern U, A 5-11 230 pound monstrosity. It was as if somebody had said something about his mama, once he got the ball. Averaged 5.2 running inside, a bull.

Bummer....no football card.

It's such a ****ing shame how the Eric Berry era ended. I still want him in my #1 spot, but I just can't get that last year out of my head.

DT is #1 for me right now, but I think it's only a matter of time before Mahomes supplants him.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-22-2019 12:26 AM

Vince Agnew for sure

-King- 09-22-2019 12:27 AM

Jamaal Charles is still my favorite

Deberg_1990 09-22-2019 12:47 AM

Nah. He’s got a ways to go before he surpasses Trent Green

I’m with you. There were so many dark years where the only reason I watched the Chiefs was to see what Charles was going to do. Anytime the ball was in his hands you knew something special could happen. It’s similar to the feeling I get with Mahomes now actually.

threebag 09-22-2019 02:50 AM

It’s hard to let go of my childhood favorite. Growing up whether it was football or baseball I always announce myself as Number 20... Deron Cherry or Frank White

Hard to replace DT for me. I met him and actually partied and cut up with him so there's a connection there. Rough day when he passed.

But you can't not say Mahomes. Still hard to accept that he is ours (so to speak).

Blick 09-22-2019 05:02 AM

I hadn't really thought about it, but I said Mahomes, absolutely.

DT is close.

He was my favorite Chief of all time after the Steelers game last year. I remember telling my wife that bs she was like WHAT!? I love the kid. He's perfect.

Soon as I learned we drafted him he was my favorite all time.

Going to training camp his rookie season with my son was the coolest thing ever when he hit alligator arms for a td over Peters. I knew the kid was going be a Super Hero.

tyecopeland 09-22-2019 06:24 AM

Charles and Priest are still above him but barely. As daface said he's brought plenty of joy already.

I'm also relatively new to actual chief fandom as I never disliked them but they weren't my team until vermeil.

Nah. For me, it'll always be Ricky Stanzi.

JohnnyHammersticks 09-22-2019 06:50 AM

Yes.

Not only does he have a chance to be the greatest player in NFL history, he seems like a genuinely good dude. So glad he's not an embarrassing d-bag like Cam Newton. Seems like a guy that you could have a beer and shoot the shit with, and it doesn't seem like signing the biggest contract in league history will change that.

Coogs 09-22-2019 07:11 AM

Yes. And I go back to the mid 60's with the Chiefs being my favorite team.

PHOG 09-22-2019 07:11 AM

Sorry DT,, you've been passed by. :thumb:

Chiefs Moon 09-22-2019 07:17 AM

He was the instant he was drafted (I watched everything youtube had on him before he was drafted).

big nasty kcnut 09-22-2019 07:21 AM

He's in the mix.

MTG#10 09-22-2019 07:26 AM

Yes. Before Pat it was Trent Green with DT a close second.

MahiMike 09-22-2019 07:28 AM

He's the MVC. Most Valuable Chief. Ever.

oldman 09-22-2019 08:38 AM

He'll probably wind up as my favorite QB over Lenny the Cool, but my avi shows my favorite Chief ever. I know, I'm old.

TEX 09-22-2019 08:41 AM

#89 is mine, but Pat could one day change that.

Easy 6 09-22-2019 08:52 AM

Yes... hands down, no question about it rock lock favorite

I’ve been waiting for this guy since 1981

ditto

58-4ever 09-22-2019 10:46 AM

Yes, and there isn't really a close second...

Also up there, in no particular order:

Derrick Johnson
Travis Kelce
Tamarick Vanover
Will Shields
Willie Roaf
Priest Holmes
Jamaal Charles
James Hasty
Derrick Thomas
Dale Carter

BlackHelicopters 09-22-2019 11:55 AM

I’d swallow.

JakeF 09-22-2019 03:10 PM

He is probably going to be the best Chief of all time. The favorite is a completely different thing.

I really like Albert Lewis.

Molitoth 09-22-2019 03:14 PM

Yes, I haven't loved watching a player this much since Barry Sanders.

T-post Tom 09-22-2019 03:15 PM

Yes

eDave 09-22-2019 03:16 PM

Hasty is up there for me as well.

BWillie 09-22-2019 03:17 PM

I cannot believe he had a year wasted sitting behind Alex Smiff.

wazu 09-22-2019 03:18 PM

I love many Chiefs players from my youth all the way to now, but Mahomes is my favorite and there is no close second.

Don't be mad, i think that year help Mahomes become a better player.

Dayze 09-22-2019 03:28 PM

Derick Johnson is probably my #1.
But over time, I’m sure Pat will take over.

Loved everything about Dj. Attitude, toughness, carried himself exceptionally on and off the field. Much like Pat.

We’re going to look back 15 years from now and all remember “when” Pat came to the scene. And he’ll likely be everyone’s favorite player by that point.

Mama Hip Rockets 09-22-2019 03:29 PM

Absolutely.

Watching Smiff tuck it and take a sack when Mahomes knew he could make the throw? I doubt it. I think sitting and watching is highly overrated when it comes to developing as a QB. You develop by playing...waaaaaay more.

Mahomes himself went out of his way to talk about how much Smith helped him learn the game, the business and get things together. You are just letting your hatred of Smith cloud your perspective. I doubt Smith helped Mahomes with his mechanics etc but I'm sure he helped with film study, game prep, and all the other NFL things that happen behind the scenes.

It worked out better than anyone could have hoped, let it go.

KurtCobain 09-22-2019 04:25 PM

He's ight.

Megatron96 09-22-2019 04:27 PM

Only Derrick Thomas is held in higher regard in my heart. But Mahomes climbed the leaderboard to the #2 slot like a Saturn V rocket.

ping2000 09-22-2019 05:01 PM
