Lol, not bad.

The Marvelification of the DC Universe is under way.....

Fish 07-21-2018 03:25 PM

Some much needed humor for DC. I like...

stumppy 07-21-2018 03:27 PM

ROFL

This could be really good.

banecat 07-21-2018 03:38 PM

It's nice to see DC with some actual possibility on the horizon

Bowser 07-21-2018 03:45 PM

And I would recognize Djimon Hounsou's voice anywhere. I guess he was free to skip universes when Drax killed off Korath….

Frazod 07-21-2018 04:00 PM

Chuck as Captain Marvel. I like it! LMAO

He's going to reprise that role in Marvel's Captain Marvel movie, so he'll be in two Captain Marvel movies from different studios within months of each other.

Sure-Oz 07-21-2018 10:56 PM

I dig this too...a "big" superhero movie

journeyscarab 07-25-2018 09:47 AM

One of my favorite Saturday morning TV shows! We'd run around the yard playing superhero and yelling "Shazam" hoping to get get struck by the lightning bolt. This looks like a lot of fun - like a cross of Big and Shazam.

Haha, that looks like it could be surprisingly good.

New trailer. This looks like it'll be fun.

@ShazamMovie: Just say the word. #SHAZAM - in theaters April 5. https://twitter.com/ShazamMovie/stat...728448/video/1

Sure-Oz 03-08-2019 09:15 AM

This looks like it'll be a hit for DC. Reactions coming in...

@colliderfrosty: loved #Shazam. It's super fun, very funny (a few times people were laughing so loud I missed dialogue), and exactly what they set out to make: 'Big' meets Superman. @ZacharyLevi is perfectly cast but the real surprise is @Jgrazerofficial as Freddy Freeman. Steals the show. https://twitter.com/colliderfrosty/s...413185/photo/1

@slashfilm: #Shazam is parts Home Alone, parts Big, a crowd pleasing family-friendly joy-filled wish-fulfillment superhero film which gets a bit over the top and cheesy at times. It’s fun and funny, and I was surprised at how much it wears it’s heart on its sleeve.

Frazod 03-08-2019 10:50 AM

I'm definitely going to see this. #REALCAPTAINMARVEL

arrowheadnation 03-08-2019 02:40 PM

Maybe this will give Levi enough star power to finally get the Chuck Movie made.

DeepPurple 03-09-2019 09:40 AM

Saturday mornings in the 70's I remember a few times I had to work and taking my break so I could watch ISIS, she was hot!

Just saw it.

It started real (real) slow, but got pretty good by the end.

Word of warning: wouldn't take young kids. Was some stuff that might scare them. Some adult language, too.

Yeah they said shit about five or six times and we took our 11 year old and we hope the sins don’t give her nightmares. I thought it was good, glad to see DC rebounding and focusing on the light hearted side of things.

Cool . Shazam looks like good harmless fun . Will definitely check it out in theaters when I can .

I hate DC.

I hate Superman.

Shocker, yes Rausch got in early.

****, this is hard to rate. It's goofy in a family way but, eh, I think the comedy swings missed mostly. Yes, as a Marvel fan I was surprised how well they tried to make a Marvel flick happen. It was (mostly) funny. I hated the nostalgia reaches (and they clearly did reach) but it was still ok.

I really wanted to hate the lead after his [political] posts and sjw BS but he was solid. I don't really like HOW they updated SHAZAM but I do like who they updated it with. The actor might be a dick but he was solid in the role.

If that makes sense...

Overall: B-

Are you asserting that there is no creative on earth whose personal activities and opinions affect your interest in his or her work, or are you admitting you are dumb too?

I'm saying it's dumb to "want to hate" someone because they have a differing political opinion.

Are you sure you're not mixing up your Captain Marvels? Granted, I avoid twitter like the plague, but I haven't seen or heard anything about Levy shooting his mouth off about anything.

I haven't seen much [or really looked for, for that matter] from Levi, but he might be thinking/stewing about Levi rebuking people who were promoting Shazam OVER Cpt.Marvel BECAUSE Shazam is old-fashioned fun instead of SJW bellyaching.

Not saying that's definitely what Rausch is irked over, or [whether it is or isn't] such a relatively mild rebuke rises to the level of SJWBS. Just trying to possibly clear up your query.

Frazod 03-25-2019 09:03 AM

Hot damn, are we really doing this?

It’s ****ing dumb to want to hate someone because they think differently than you do- particularly when the differing opinions aren’t hateful or intentionally hurtful.

This debate is also really ****ing dumb.

It was pretty funny and kind of parodied some of the superhero tropes but not in a mean spirited way.

The whole scene was played for laughs. People are perhaps reading way to much into it.

Tribal Warfare 04-06-2019 11:47 PM

Great movie, but Freddy's whiney entitled attitude almost ruined the film for me.

Valiant 04-07-2019 12:51 AM

It was really good. Wonder woman, aquaman and shazam top notch comic movies.

Sure-Oz 04-07-2019 09:39 PM

I really loved this flick. Alot of fun and nice ties to the comic. I'll definitely buy on Blu-ray.

I was just looking at his IMDB and I never realized he was in the Thor movies. Even after looking up who he played, I wouldn't know it was him.

I met and hung out with him a bit a few years ago at a Dodgers game. Definitely a really good guy. He's good in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as well.

JD10367 04-09-2019 12:57 PM

It was cute. Exactly what you’d expect: superhero “Big” (with one obvious nod to that film) with a morality/family subtext. Although surprisingly it has a little more violence and tension than I expected; if people bring 8 year olds expecting a fun family film there might be some parental hands over kids’ eyes.

FAX 04-10-2019 09:28 AM

I thought the lame kid was well cast and a very good actor who understands what a camera is and how it works. I was impressed with him.

The rest felt like a long Nickelodeon episode.

It also seemed to me that it needed another act in the middle somewhere. The writing wasn't "horrible" for what it is ... if predictable plotting is your thing, this is a decent-enough movie, I guess.

I rate this 2.5 Super Boots out of 5.

FAX

banecat 04-10-2019 11:44 AM

I liked it. If I had kids, I probably would've liked it more. It was an example of what these movies, and most movies are supposed to be. It had relate-able characters, and it gave them crazy powers that are barely believable but fun because it's a movie, and it supposed to be about escapism. Not preachy, and not always art imitating reality like almost every other funny book film has become. It looks like DC's finally getting it, and could make some solid shows for the next several years until this well dries up completely

BWillie 07-27-2019 11:06 PM

One of the best kids movies I've ever seen. Very well done.

Is Cavill going to be in the next one? WTF

Cavill is supposed to be out as Superman. They tried to get him in this movie and it didn't happen hence why you never see his face.
