(Contract offer wasn't huge; 4yr/40m - 23m guaranteed. 4m cap in yr 1, 10m salary cap 2-4yr.)

Breeland is still out there probably because he's asking for too much money.

We need to add 2 cornerbacks simply to have enough numbers.

Did the draft get canceled or something? Did the NFL step in and say, “No more free agency. What you have is what you get”

I hope not. But likely not the end of the world if he does. Ward and Fenton's rise, plateau or fall will have alot to say about this team moving forward.

Probably not.....Hamilton probably takes the role Brown was in because he's an ace special teamer.

Ward is an obvious starter and Fenton is a role player, Mathieu plays the slot a ton so that helps out. Chiefs would probably like to bring Breeland back, if that were to happen I'd expect a top 2 or 3 pick on a versatile safety/CB, Mathieu's ability to move around means having a guy to fill the spot he's not in would be helpful. The Chiefs are apparently big fans of Antoine Winfields as he would fit into this perfectly...

However if they can't get Breeland back then that goes out the window and you have to draft a starting CB.

Well it’s pretty obvious that they’re going to draft and probably sign a guy too. Veach is aware about the lack of corners currently under contract. I promise.

Do you think the Chiefs are waiting on Breeland, hoping his asking price drops?

If they can't get Breeland they draft/start a guy like Terrell in the 1st round?

I think Breeland will be back, and I would think drafting a cb high will be a priority but we need lbs pretty bad so who knows?

They're waiting on Breeland because we don't have cap space. I thought that was fairly clear.

Waiting on Breeland until after Jones. Jones and LDT are the only ways to create any space for Breeland.

Also, I’d be shocked if we don’t draft 1-2 CB’s. Hopefully we get one starter out of the draft.

Fenton will be the slot CB. We will need another CB tho. Ward has two years left and will need a new deal

Surprised we didn’t cut Watkins loose to fix our CB issues. We obviously can’t afford breeland.
