You know what sucks almost as much as the death of rock? The death of Motown type music.

I always loved southern rock, since I grew up in Florida it's always be a staple of rock radio. I was fortunate to see the Allman Bros in 1969 at a bar in St. Petersburg before their debut album was released, I guess that was the beginning.

February 1982 I saw Molly Hatchet with all the original members. In an about an hour I'm going to go see Molly Hatchet here in The Villages. The oldest members in the band is the keyboard player since '84 and one guitarist, Bobby Ingram since '87. All the original members I believe are dead. They lost the third singer, the one that replaced Danny Joe Brown in '95 died last April. I've seen videos on youtube with the new singer, and I actually like him better. Of course no one can replace Danny Joe Brown.

Here's the original lineup form '83 with DJB, the guitarist in the white t-shirt is Dave Hlubek, he was the last original member still playing in the band until he died in 2017 at age 66. If you seen Molly Hatchet or videos of the past few years, he was the huge fat guy, he really blew up in size and he still smoked, no wonder he died at 66.
