Not really. The out of this world excitement for the Ashoka series proves that fanboys will get behind a women driven fantasy when the women are written as fun, nuanced characters with clear motivations other than “I AM A STRONG FEMALE AND NO MAN CAN GET IN MY WAY”

Star Wars is always BETTER when it has a male lead.
