Only played it from like august to October. Fired it up again in March and played like three games and it’s beeb sitting ever since. Gameplay was so bad.

Last years Madden was the least I've EVER played in my life. Maybe 20 hours total gameplay. It was complete trash.

I put a lot of time in 18 & 19. Their only focus is selling packs in ultimate team, as the year went on they came out with patches that made the game worse and worse. The gameplay online is terrible, youtubers come out with their glitch plays and everyone copies them. In 19, 99% of users used the Patriots playbook because it had gun bunch and with a couple of hot routes it was a double crosser play that everyone ran exclusively almost. The game is trash! Even with Mahomes on the cover, there's no way I'll play that trash again. If franchise is your thing, then you may have a good time I dunno.

Also when you level up in Ultimate team, your reward for reaching max level is having the privilege of spending $20 on an exclusive pack.

The franchise league we had on 18 was pretty fun.

I'll buy it because Mahomes. Haven't bought a new release Madden in...shiiiiiit....probably since i was a teenager.

me too, I have fond memories of Joe Montana football on SEGA. He was in a Chiefs uniform too, loved that game.

2K5 was an amazing game. I played the hell outta that game.

Madden with Mike vick was the last great one

Shittiest one was of course John Elway football, that set gaming back about 20 years. I agree on the Joe Montana sports talk football, one of the alltime greats. 2K5 was probably the best football game ever pro wise.

John Elways QB at the arcade had a throw stick that actually made it fun to launch out routes. That was the whole point of the game. On console it was dumb. NES PLAY ACTION football has to be the worst that I know.

I used to love the 2 player arcade Atari football, it had the 2 huge track balls and X's and O's for players.

Yeah 05 was awesome with franchise mode, building stadiums, food prices, etc.

EA is more interested in combing out with “new” shit they can hype up each year, but they give zero shits about fixing the gameplay itself. It’s comical such a bad approach.
They hype some new stupid feature that’s meaningless and will actually be gone from the game in two years or so.

The fact EA has the resources and $ to fix it, but choose not to and would rather rely on MUT /online is what’s so infuriating. Now we’re at a point where I don’t think a new upstart or existing g company could produce a game to compete without investing a **** load of money. And I don’t think of a company that would be willing to risk it.


So ,one story short.....we’re ****ed.

If they game themselves a longer cycle between releases we might be okay. I'm okay with getting a Madden a couple weeks into the season if that means a kick ass game.

They have a huge team on the game..a month or two longer on development would be huge

Madden 20 Will Add New Pump Fake Feature & No Look Passes

you can always do no look passes. For a while the meta in MUT was running backwards 20-50 yards with vick, playmakering a WR towards you and he's always open. Vick runs back 30 yards and throws a no look pass to the open WR.

I wasn’t going to buy it this year, but then they put Mahomes on the cover.

Add on top of that the potential speed on offense for KC, and it could a lot of fun.

I think I am going to buy my copy in store this year. I want the box.

EA knows they are the only game in town so they don't have to give a rat's ass about gameplay or glitches. People will buy it at $60 regardless because if they want a football game they have no other choice.

Madden 18 was a very fun, polished, finished product I got tons of hours of enjoyable gameplay out of, both offline franchise on online here with my CP brothers.

Madden 19 was an abortion I didn't even touch.

I really think Madden 19 was an unfinished product and essentially the "beta" for Madden 20. If they've ironed out all the bugs for Madden 20, it could be a very god game, because the graphics were certainly gorgeous.

What Madden was it where you could pump fake any eligible receiver? It wasn't that long ago...

So I guess the fix is that the pump fakes will actually work now? I smell a nasty exploit within the community brewing.

The fact that coverage is still broken, cant shade or bracket receivers, cant do basic stunts on dline and yet they feel the need to add RPO concepts into the game. Mind blown.

it's not until I watched a vid of all the stuff that used to be in Madden, 2k5 etc that I realized the full degree to which Madden has been mailing it in the last, what, 5 years or so?

Mailing it in with features (or lack thereof) + bad game play.....not a good combination.

and I'm reading things correct in that this 'new' superstar mode / career mode or whatever they want to call it, will only be available to be played as a QB?

Once Ncaa Football 2014 becomes playable on RPCS3 none of the Maddens will matter.

I decided to play a few games last night. It had been so long since I'd last played, I had to install a ton of updates that took a while.

It was 'ok'. Though, I don't like playing a franchise as a LB, and any time there's a big play / turnover etc me or my guys make, there's no way to replay it; it just immediately jumps to the offensive possession.

Didn't seem to get sucked into quick as many blocking animations, so that was good.

The one year I really don't want to buy it has Mahomes on the cover....

Maybe I'll have to get it if they keep connected franchise, but only if I'm bored with the games that I have at the time. Because last years gameplay online in MUT mode was a travesty.

The gameplay looks really good, waiting to see more but i'll probably get suckered into buying it either way with all the Mahomes love.

Each year they tout new stuff...then when we play it.....it’s the same bullshit .

I’ll probably wait until I read reviews about the actual gameplay.

EA are masters at marketing, especially when it comes to something that is the same game year after year.

Rayweather is the best Madden Youtuber, he tells it like it is.

Here is what Eric had to say:

1. Player movement fixed. Animations are phenomenal.

2. Running the ball is smooth and responsive. You don't feel like you're losing control.

3. Usering on defense works well, clicking on and controlling the nearest defender is super responsive.

4. Pass rush is lethal. This will lead to complaints. Adaption of gameplay style will be needed. No chuck and duck.

5. You cannot play Madden 20 like Madden 17/18/19. You will fail.

6. QB animations look really good. Passing game feels realistic, but you need to anticipate a lot of routes and account for pass windups.

7. Super linebackers are gone. Even user defending you need to be much closer to a receiver to user pick.

8. X-Factor Superstar abilities are not overpowered. If you are "in the zone" you do not automatically dominate. It just gives you a better chance of success.

9. You will be scared of the really good pass rushers. And the good safeties. And the good linebackers. Players play how they play in real life. "Special players feel special. It's not just about speed anymore."

10. Stiff-arm works better.

11. QBs who can get outside the pocket are dangerous. But if you spy or contain you will stop it.

12. Jet sweeps are fun and work...maybe OP. RPOs are hit and miss, might need tuned.

13. Run blocking isn't perfect. AI needs work. Some players still oblivious. But you can still run the ball.

14. No huddle is OP. You can snap the ball really fast after the last play ends.

First play - 5 yard gain on a dive

Second play - sack, PA pass and didn't have time

Third play - sack, held ball too long on a screen

Four play - 93 yard TD to Reek from 5 wide on 4th and a mile LMAO

Game is fun. I'm playing on intermediate.

Game is really smooth. The definitely refined all the animations. Player movement rocks.

I am getting sacked too much, but I also have 223 yards and 2 TD in the first half of the Pro Bowl.

I'm really noticing, you just have to be bang bang with your actions. There's no waiting on an animation like Madden 18.

Case in point, I just threw a slip screen to Reek and there was no delay. I just snapped the ball, waited a tick for my blockers to get moving and pounded the pass button. Pulled off two sick jukes in the open field too. 36-yard gain.

RPO stuff looks good, too, but you can't hold the ball.

RPO game is really fun. I found the exact play the Chiefs ran in San Diego for their first offensive TD of 2018. It rules.

UNBELIEVABLE MOMENT: Called an RPO and completed the pass. Waited too long to throw though and got an INELIGIBLE MAN DOWNFIELD PENALTY. A couple plays later, ran it again and the TE got an OPI for blocking downfield.

Does the guard still kick out to the outside of the tackle to “help” with blocking, only to get beat inside where he should’ve stayed to being with?

Each year the new Madden makes everyone forget how ****ed the previous version was , and we all get suckered into buying it. Not thus year. I get a gift card each year to Gamestop like clock work from the in laws. This year I’ll spend it on MLB the Show 18 used and maybe a few other games. **** wasting it the money on Madden. Did that last year. Instant regret after playing it for 6 weeks and shelving it.

Blocking is still a mess, they get confused on pass protection a lot like last year. Some of the RPO stuff is blocked incorrectly. Movement feels smoother so far.

The good news is you can't do that on every play with him. You have to get in the zone to get the ability to throw it 85 yards.

Actually this isn't the case anymore, it's far to expensive for anyone to get into that line of business anymore. I can show you a huge video detailing that the license isn't why Madden is the only game, at first yes, but that isn't the case now.

In short competing with Madden is virtually impossible because it won't be profitable so why would you want to do it?
