Time to get that Makar jersey. PBJ ....and from that one site, might be here by opening night. LMAO

Apparent Landeskog's hang-up is years, Landeskog wants 7 and the Avalanche are offering five, but $$ being offered is in line.

Saw a reddit post, if only there was a number between 5 and 7....

Fleury traded to the Blackhawks... wonder if there was something between him and DeBoer, given the idiocy with splitting time in the playoffs and now trading him for almost nothing. Probably could have gotten more at the deadline from a team needing a playoff rental.

Vegas desperately needs the cap space to resign some players (Nosek, Janmark, Martinez) so having Fleury was a luxury they couldn't afford. What is wild to me is that the reigning Vezina trophy winner is traded for absolutely nothing due to so many teams not being able to afford Fleury's 7 mill cap hit.

I think the NHL needs to seriously evaluate their cap system and make some changes to allow teams more flexibility. Something along the lines as 1 compliance buy-out per 2 seasons with no cap implications would be something maybe the NHL and NHLPA could agree on.

The mistake he made against the habs in game three was one of the worst in playoff history and we never recovered...i'm glad he's gone and we can possibly move forward with panda and also have cap room. Farewell Flower..it's been one hell of a ride.

Ah, thanks... should have looked at that.

Yeah, you would think salaries would adjust a bit due to issues like that, but teams can't help themselves when it comes to those huge deals.

Ovechkin signed for nearly $50 million and it's a bit strange that it could be considered a discount at $9.5/per, yet him and Backstrom now account for something like 22% of their cap hit.

I don't think Landeskog will age well, but the cap hit is reasonable.

Yeah, I'm gonna guess that'll seem high toward the end of it. But really, if the Avs haven't won a cup by then, this era is a failure regardless. I'm good with it.

I think through his age 32-33 season it'll be fine, after that it won't look as good. But they should have a cup by then, assuming they keep MacKinnon, Byram, etc. I expect Grubauer will be back as well.

I really want Saad in St. Louis to replace Schwartz.

Bearcat 07-27-2021 10:02 PM

Nice! PBJ

Would love to have Saad back, and Grubauer.

Well, I knew it was a lot to ask to get them ALL done, but I'm bummed that Grubi is gone.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Done deal, six years, $5.9 M AAV for Grubauer to the Seattle Kraken <a href="https://t.co/aD7n2jqLt6">https://t.co/aD7n2jqLt6</a></p>&mdash; Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) <a href="https://twitter.com/PierreVLeBrun/status/1420442785468006400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 28, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

That said, 6x6 is STEEP in my opinion. That's a lot for the guy to live up to.

Granted, Binnington won all 16 games in the Blues SC run, but that's what Binnington got paid and I think it's market value for above average goalies.

Bearcat 07-28-2021 12:22 PM

Yeah, puts him in the top 10.

Well, I hear Fleury doesn't want to play in Chicago....
