Looks like a mix up of Ragnarok and Atomic Blonde.
And Gal Gadot has to be in the top .01% of attractive females that are alive today. Goodness. |

Wow. |
This looks good as well. The colors and Gal looking hot af...loved the first movie. Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord, Chris Pine back as Trevor andKristen Wiig as Cheetah is an awesome cast. I dig it.

Gal aside, I'll be shocked if this movie lives up to the standard of the original. From my understanding, the set was a complete and utter disaster, as Patty had full control and therefore, full power to hire and fire anyone she chose.
Apparently, she hired a bunch of friends instead of true professionals on set and that it was a disaster of epic proportions. There was constant infighting and power struggles and again, from what I was told, the story doesn't work nearly as well as the original. Now, hopefully, they put together a good film in the edit bay, which happens more frequently than not but after all of the detail that was share with me, I'm not expecting much. Let's hope I'm wrong because Wonder Woman has pretty much been DC's lone saving grace as of late (the Joker not included). |

Shame. I really enjoyed the first one. I like the universe, Gadot, and the fit of the story. It isn’t perfect, but it’s really good, at least up until the last battle which I wasn’t fond of. Hope they can save the sequel. And if we’re being honest, Hollywood needs more movies like WW to work so hopefully there are fewer girl-power ghostbuster type disasters. |
I’ll go see this one but this trailer really doesn’t sell the movie well for me. Kinda underwhelmed, like they’re just going to have a bunch of 80s jokes, copy Thor Ragnarok in the marketing and put Wonder Woman in it. We’ll see how Kristin Wiigs character plays out but I’ve never thought much of her comedy or acting ability and she’s been in a few terrible films as of late so I hope they prove me wrong on the casting.

I wasn’t a big fan of the first movie, but this trailer looks fun.

Wiig is what I questioned as well... hopefully she can pull it off. I liked the trailer, doesn't give away anything plot wise. 2nd trailer I expect way more. Hopefully this will be a good movie atleast.

She was in that one with Seth Rogan, I think it was called Knocked Up, where she was just gratingly insufferable. I'm pretty sure that was not the point. At least to the extent that it was. I just hated that movie, even with Rogan being remarkably endearing. She just has Resting Bitch Face to infinity, maybe it has morphed into Resting Bitch...Bitch. As a result I haven't seen a hell of a lot with her in it since. |

Rumors are circulating that Warner’s might directly
Release this to VOD instead of theaters. https://www.thewrap.com/wonder-woman...r-warner-bros/ |

Personally I think $19.99 is a good price point for these new releases. Not sure the math works out though for the studios where they could potentially make 300-500 million globally on these big releases. |
Quote:
But the difference is that in the bigger cities, it's at least $18.99 a ticket with IMAX coming in around $25-30 a ticket, so studios would definitely lose money by going VOD because they won't have multiple tickets per person. It makes more sense for Disney (Onward & Frozen) and Uni (Invisible Man and The Hunt) to release on Disney+ or VOD because they're at the end of their theatrical runs. So if WW 2 goes VOD instead of a theatrical, they're basically saying that this movie sucks, which jibes with everything I've heard about it. |

I guess this means that No Time to Die, Black Widow and Quiet Place II are good? |
The trailer looks great, this is one I am looking forward to if the Theaters are open this summer. My only worry is that the trailer is better than the actual movie. Even if so you get to look at Gal Gadot for a few hours, could be much worse!
|
Quote:
Marvel has such an excellent track record and generally speaking, don't any cash flow issues, so they can sit on this movie indefinitely. I'd be a little more concerned if I was a producer or studio releasing A Quiet Place II. While it was a low budget film that turned into a bit of a global phenom, it's pretty rare that sequels to those types of movies live up to expectations. IMO, they'd be smart to wait a full year to release this film in the theaters because even if the theaters chains reopen this summer, people will most likely avoid films of this nature due to the current crisis. |

I was told by someone very, very close to the production that the movie is going to suck because Patty Jenkins hired a bunch of her "friends" instead of true feature film professionals, then totally lost control of the set. |

****ing brilliant. |
Yeah that looked like shit. Same movie as WW but in a different timeline.

And I still think Gina Carano should be Wonder Woman. :harumph:

I think it looks like a fun film. I like how Cheetah looks too.

Big news.
@AaronCouch: #WonderWoman1984 is heading to HBO Max — and whatever theaters remain open — on Dec. 25 https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...heaters-dec-25 @Great_Katzby: #WonderWoman1984 will be made available on #HBOMax at no additional cost to subscribers. But it will only be streamable for the first month of the film's release. |
LMAO
I sure hope that HBO Max is ready to end their dispute with Roku asap. Otherwise, what'st the point? https://variety.com/2020/film/news/w...se-1234804411/ ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ to Debut Both on HBO Max and in Theaters “Wonder Woman 1984” is heading to HBO Max and U.S. movie theaters on the same day. Warner Bros., the studio behind the superhero sequel, announced plans to release the blockbuster simultaneously on the big screen and the subscription-based streaming platform on Dec. 25. Internationally, where HBO Max is not available, “Wonder Woman 1984” will open in Dec. 16. The film will be available for a month on HBO Max in the U.S. included at no additional cost to subscribers. “As we navigate these unprecedented times, we’ve had to be innovative in keeping our businesses moving forward while continuing to super-serve our fans,” said Ann Sarnoff, chair and CEO of WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group, which includes Warner Bros. Pictures. “This is an amazing film that really comes to life on the big screen and, working with our partners in the exhibition community, we will provide that option to consumers in the U.S. where theaters are open. We realize that a lot of consumers can’t go back to the movies due to the pandemic, so we also want to give them the option to see Wonder Woman 1984 via our HBO Max platform.” The unconventional release plan comes as 50% of U.S. theaters are closed, including major moviegoing markets like New York and Los Angeles, and many still hesitant to go to the movies. “We appreciate how patient audiences have been and given the great anticipation around ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ we are grateful to be able to make this terrifically entertaining movie widely available in these challenging times,” said Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group. Though surprising, it’s not unprecedented for a major movie to debut simultaneously on home entertainment and in movie theaters. Universal Pictures opened “Trolls World Tour” on premium video-on-demand in April, when most cinemas were shuttered due to the pandemic. “Wonder Woman” generated over $800 million globally in 2017 and became a cultural touchstone as one of the rare comic book movies to spotlight a female superhero, solidifying itself as one of Warner Bros.’ most important properties. The sequel has been delayed numerous times amid the pandemic. It was originally scheduled for June 5 before moving to Aug. 14, then Oct. 2 and later Dec. 25. Patty Jenkins, who directed “Wonder Woman” and the sequel, was bittersweet as she addressed the news on social media. “The time has come,” she wrote on Twitter. “At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else. We love our move as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season. Watch it in theaters, where it is made safe to do so (check out the great work theaters have done to make it so!) And available in the safety of your home on HBO Max where it is not. Happy holidays to all of you. We hope you enjoy our film as much as we enjoyed making it.” |
|
Wow. Kinda surprised they didn’t just bump it again until next summer?
I guess they need a big event for HBOMax?? |
Looks like it will be opening in the local theaters in my area around here. Theaters in Texas have been back open for months.
But if I’m being honest, why would I go pay to see it in a movie theater when it will just pop up for free on HBOMax? |

This might be too little, too late but it'll be interesting to see how many new activations there are in the months December & January. Quote:
It will be curious to see how many people sign up just to watch this movie. As I mentioned yesterday, this most likely means that a deal with Roku is coming soon because otherwise, more than 45% of their subscriber base will be unable to watch it. |
Id wear her like a god damn catchers mask.
|
Man. I had high hopes for a Gal Gadot Wonder Woman franchise but I have to say I am not liking the comparison to...Trolls World Tour? Holy ****. Yikes.
