The offensive productivity is just a flat out embarrassment. They should rename themselves:

The offense is bogged down by a few things, IMO:

1) they look like they’re playing “tight.” Pressing. Etc. that’s actually fairly typical of Matheny teams.

2) the stubborn reliance on Carlos Santana. Dude looks like he is toast, period.

3) some guys starting slow.

I don’t think it’s this bad. But it isn’t that good, either.

He's not exactly destroying AAA. Rocking about a 40 percent K rate at the moment, which is less than ideal. Early, though.

I think he'll have to force their hand a bit more than he is currently.

In Royals fashion, by the time the bats awaken they’ll have dug themselves an 8-20 hole. And then the bullpen will regress just enough to blow some 4-3 leads and deepen the hole.

Of course, of the Big Three in Omaha, he’s the one NOT on the 40 man roster. MJ and Pratto are, but both are really struggling with the bat so far this year.
