He’s got a lot of upside if he can stay healthy.

Interesting...

If he's healthy? ****. This could be another Trey Smith type guy.
|
I expect him to be a camp cut, but good for him being able to get the chance to give it all.

I thought they signed another doctor/ player

Wow. People clammored for this guy and we actually signed him. Hope he can make this work. It'd make for a good story. Not counting on it though. Be nice to not have Gordon, Dieter, Kemp, etc on the roster this year.
|
No risk, all upside.

Wow this is great, dude was a first rounder two years ago

Not expecting much, but this is worth a shot.

Might as well give this kid a shot. It's not like Powell's going to amount to shit so I don't see anyone who has a BETTER chance of someday making a difference at this level. He just doesn't appear to have the athleticism he once did. The possibility of recurrence doesn't bother me any (we have little/nothing invested in him). What does is the fact that he's probably just washed. The injuries have taken away his baseline ability so he's probably not an NFL caliber athlete even when 'healthy' at this point. |

I mean I hope for his sake that he's still injured. Because that's awful. He sure looked done. |
Quote:
The underlying issue wasn't an injury but my memory was that an injury exacerbated it and required surgical intervention. And hell, even if you get rid of that, a Jones injury/surgery is a real problem on its own. How many WRs have we seen simply not get the athleticism back after a Jones fracture? I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him cut after rookie camp before we even get to St. Joe. But hey - like I said, no risk at all. |
Guess I'm kinda just happy for him at this point. He tweeted out he just needed 1 chance. Looks like he's got it. Great coach, great QB, and a great offense that has WR as it's top need. About as perfect of an opportunity as he could have hoped for.

His 2021 highlight video looks good. If he stays healthy (big if) any reason why he couldn't compete for a spot?

What a ****ing move. |
Deebo Samuel\Edelman\Sammy W all had a Jones foot fracture and so did KD. That shouldn't be a concern
|
Good for him he’s had some tough breaks, no pun intended, I’m happy for him he’s getting a shot if it works out we got a steal
|
Great flier to take.
Dude has upside. |
Quote:
He was going to be a first round pick before injuries torpedoed everything the last couple years. He has plenty of talent. |
He destroyed Alabama in the national championship game. Holy shit Veach!! What a ****ing steal. Right now the #5 and #6 WR spots are open (Gordon, Coleman and now Ross)
|
This is one of the biggest signings of all time. Once a top 10 pick going undrafted. Highway robbery by Veach
|
This signing makes my spine tingle!
All upside, no risk, all in. |
Injured prone Ross goes to Chiefs for a chance to ball out
Mental prone Pickens goes to Lions and forced to grow up Fate |
Baller move by Veach here.
Probably won't amount to much, but the potential is too much to ignore. |
At no risk, fire away, Veach.
|
He will contribute this year mark my words. I’m saying 500 yards as a rookie. I’ve seen this kid play! All gas…. No brakes by VEACH!!

BTW - I see that Josh Gordon is training with Travis Henry. Now I don't have a ton of hope for either of these two cats, but damn its all advantage Chiefs.

Alright! Love it! ...Another one of my guys goes to the Chiefs as UDFA.

I have not stop cumming

Wow. Can't believe we actually took a gamble on him. Nothing to complain about with this one. Huge steal if he's able to overcome the odds

I'm curious how many other teams were in on him.
|
I remember Nate Tice being super high on him. Listening now … QB play was obviously horrible. Gave an example of Ross being overthrown twice.. comes back and buried his guy blocking on the next play. Graded him as a high second rounder without injuries. But said he’s be comfortable taking him in the third
Said he didn’t train for his pro day as well. So while he’s not some 4.3 guy. He’s probably in the 4.5s |
spine issues, foot issues and a 4.68 at his pro day. I dont see it working out, but man if he got back to close to what he was he would be a nice big guy on the outside.

Random question, but if a UDFA just completely balls out, are they eligible for a fresh, brand-new full contract?
If so, they could make so much ****ing money in their career. They'd get to skip the entire rookie contract years. That said, with a guy like this, if he were to ball out, I'd structure his deal almost entirely on incentives based on playing time. |

He doesn't look particularly explosive off his release, but he doesn't look 4.64 (at a pro day no less) slow. |

You know what? I'm going to be nice.
I do hope Justyn Ross is amazeballs. Primarily because it'd be great for the team. But a secondary reason is because of how damn happy it would make MAHOMO. I think he deserves it! |
