Cellular Carriers

Just got done filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against AT&T for not living up to their end of the bargain contract wise after getting support ticket numbers and screenshots. It's a long story but I could honestly say I've never met a more incompetent support team than the one AT&T is throwing at its users.

It doesn't matter who you get it's just a constant dumb **** who has no idea what they're doing for even the simplest let alone more complicated issues. It's like they pull new strangers off the street each day in India and have them answer phones.

It's a truly amazing level of incompetence that I've never witnessed before. Especially for a once giant in the industry. No exaggerating.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a cell phone provider that it at least competent. Anyone know anything about Patriot Mobile? Seems like a company I can work with well.

How about xfinity? T-Mobile, Verizon and so on? I'm all open at this point.

I'm currently using Mint Mobile, if you already have a phone you really can't beat the price.

Verizon and T-Mobile both have adequate customer service. I would go with a major carrier if possible, and of course pick the one that has the best deals and coverage in your area.

What do you need out of a plan?

I'm using Google Fi on their Simply Unlimited plan. At 4 users, it's $80 ($20/per person) for unlimited data, text, talk. Works pretty damn well.

Runs on T-Mobile, as does Mint mentioned above. Having used Mint, I prefer Fi.

It all really depends what you need from the carrier like you said.

I never use more than 5 GB of data in a month due to always being around wifi so their base plan that comes out to roughly 200 dollars for a year is a hell of a deal for me.

I've got two teens, so more data is necessary.

We had T-Mobile, and it was good until we moved to a small town (2500 people) about 20 miles outside of Springfield (which most big city types also call small...lol). Long story short, zero service outside of our home and outside the reach of our wifi. It's more expensive, but the only major carrier that works for us is Verizon. We've had zero problems with it, even when we go camping.

Ah yea it's just me and my wife at this point so we pay for an individual plan for each of us and that's it. All our kids are adults now so they can pay for their own damn phones.

Just get Verizon man. Sure there some bad rare spots but compared to Sprint or TMobile who I had before its by far the best.

I use Mint Mobile and really like it a lot. I use a lot of data and their unlimited plan works just fine I have no service issues.

The best part is there are no complicated deals they say upfront this is what you get for this exact amount of money and it's a good value.

The only downside is paying full freight for a phone.

They all suck for support and none of them care. I use Verizon. It's more expensive, but has the best coverage by far in areas where I need it.

I do already have a Samsung S22 and an old Rugby that I use when on the trails.

Gonna look into them today.

Thx

I've been receiving error messages when trying to send text messages for 9 months. Something along the lines of "cannot send message through AT&T, error 2" and all my calls are showing up as private. No one answers private calls and through screening often they simply don't accept the call to go to voice mail.

9 months, 18 tickets. They would simply close them or send me a link to their troubleshooting area are on the web.

I finally saw the trend and kept putting in tickets for 3 more months, asking for reference numbers, who I was speaking to and when in chat downloading the scripts.

If there is a worse tech support team for any business they might as well just hang it up. I honestly never seen such a collective group of inept, incompetent, IDGAF in my life.

I started out in IT in help desk 1st level and we would have been shown the door 8 months ago for this kind of behavior. They really are that bad.

I use Spectrum Mobile (Verizon towers) because I have their internet and it's 45/month per line.

I've used Verizon or Spectrum in some fashion for the last 10 years and their coverage is just better than anybody else. The only place I've ever lost coverage is down in a holler in North Central Arkansas while fishing. I really liked not being able to be reached in that situation though.
