Is there another song that is forever immediately tied into a movie scene that rivals that one? I mean, plenty of great movies have used plenty of great songs but my mind immediately goes to that scene the moment I hear the first riff of SITMWY.

Yesterday my dad tossed my nephew a 16” crescent and he whined about it. I told him if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Everyone laughed. 16 years ago and the little ****er was 4 when it came out. That’s a pretty timeless joke if my 20 year old nephew and 65 year old dad laugh at the same joke.

My two favorite movies of all time are Sunset Boulevard and Chinatown.

The ending to Sunset Boulvard when silent screen star Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) has shot her gigolo Joe Gillis (William Holden) and the police have arrived to arrest her. The Hollywood paparazzi shows up and her lifelong companion and former director realizes she has had a breakdown and she thinks this is her big movie.

I downloaded some hot garbage app called 'Tubi' so I could find a few seasons of QI and the it had Big Jake and Red River (colorized, so...y'know...worse). True Grit is on Netflix.

But it's 'bout damn near impossible to find a decent John Wayne catalog right now.

Glory is a movie that I absolutely love and absolutely cannot re-watch.

Seen it beginning to end twice and it's just an incredible film. And I have no desire to watch it again; just a heart-breaker all around.

Glory is my No. 2 favorite movie of all time, right behind Casablanca. That ending.... ****. I've never seen another movie in the theater that absolutely blew me away like that. I remember walking out to the car in a daze.

Oh I know. Thankfully I have an OK collection on DVD that gets revisited on a fairly regular basis. I check the stream services every so often to see if any thing new has been added. Prime actually has quite a few currently, though they are mostly from his B collection. I rewatched The Fighting Kentuckian a few nights back which I haven't seen in years. And they have just recently added Sands of Iwo Jima which, along with a couple of others, has disappeared from my collection over the years.

I really need to go back to building that collection with some blu-rays so I do not have to rely on streaming services.

I'm not sure what alternate universe I grew up in, but in said universe they showed us that movie at school when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I cannot imagine kids seeing that in elementary school these days. I remember thinking "woah" and then not watching it again until my mid 20s because it was just damn heavy. I figured I'd see if time changed it or me.

Nooooope. Still as incredible and gut-wrenching as I remembered it being.

Just the damn soundtrack will get to you.

Butch Cassidy ending was on my short list to put up. Here's one nobody will choose.

Looking for Mr. Goodbar, 1977 film Diane Keaton made right after Annie Hall. It did well and made $22 million and had two academy nominations, but it's never been made on DVD, I don't why or who has blocked it. There is no scene clip, just the entire movie. It's kind of like Cruising by Al Pacino, very out of character and very dark and sexual.

See a young Tom Berenger kill Diane Keaton, go to about 2:02 in the movie.

I know what you mean. I saw Looking for Mr. Goodbar one time on HBO in the 80's and I never forgot that ending. I tried to find the DVD to rent, and it's never been released.

First time I saw Woodstock was in the mess hall on the USS Horne floating around off the coast of Nam. All the old salts got up and left so we had no choice.....light one up and pass it around.

That Christopher Walken scene from Pulp Fiction is really a hidden gem and I'm surprised we don't hear or see it more often.
