What are your kiddos dressing up as for Halloween?

For those of you participating. Please don't make this political as to whether or not there should be trick-or-treating. I'm just curious what the popular costumes are, if anyone's family does a group thing, etc.

My 4-year-old will be the red Power Ranger (classic, none of that Beast Mode stuff).

htismaqe 10-29-2020 12:04 PM

My girls are both in their late teens now. For the past 4 or 5 years, they've hosted a murder mystery party at the house here. We also used to do a haunted house in the garage.

Not sure what's going to happen this year because of COVID.

LoneWolf 10-29-2020 12:13 PM

My son has become obsessed with old time mobster movies. He's dressing up as Lucky Luciano (Mobsters is his favorite movie). Our neighborhood is setting up Covid trick or treating where every hose will have a candy stand at the end of the driveway with hand sanitizer available for after the kids grab a handful.

seclark 10-29-2020 12:17 PM

i've got some trails in my timber behind the house i keep cleared out. the wife and the grandkids fixed them up w/a bunch of crap they ordered online(skeletons, witches, tombstones, etc). hung some battery powered lights up in places...kept them busy for a couple days.

one night they each brought a few friends down after dark and had a wienie roast after dark. last weekend, my sister and her family came down from omaha and we did the same thing...sat around the fire and drank a few beers while the kids ran around in the woods, screaming and shit.

nobody comes to our place on halloween, since we're out in the country...i need to get all that stuff brought back in, because the damn dog keeps dragging things up and chewing the hell out of it on the front porch a piece at a time:mad: ****in mutt.

Daughter is 6. She’s a unicorn.

Yep. On a day where everyone wears black, she finds the lightest most pastel costume ever. That’s her.

My son is 2 and couldn’t give less of a shit. But he’s going as Mahomes if he’ll keep the wig on (he won’t).

You were/are certainly the cool guy in your neighborhood. Loved the families that took the time to do stuff like that.

Lucky Luciano is an awesome costume.

3 year old son is Batman. 10 year old daughter is Hermione Granger.

She has wings, therefore she is a Pegacorn. I thought I made that word up to drive me daughter crazy, then we saw a costume with that labeled on it, she hated me even more then. I counted that as a big win.

Rain Man 10-29-2020 12:41 PM

The parents all think my "angry old man" costume is adorable and realistic, and I get lots of candy.

Why Not? 10-29-2020 12:44 PM

11 year old- David S Pumpkins

9 year old- Fishy from Fortnite whatever the **** that is?

ModSocks 10-29-2020 12:45 PM

What are ya'll doing for Halloween?

Im in SoCal...so you know...walking outside during a pandemic is basically Illegal, let alone trick or treatin'.

I rented a jumper for the family kids, gonna play some games, throw a little kids party in the backyard since they can't go door-to-door this year.

Iron Man. Kid is all about the Avengers, but he just loves the gadgets and different suits Iron Man has so he’s got tunnel vision for him.

I told him if he doesn’t do his chores by Halloween he has to be Hawkeye ROFL

Monticore 10-29-2020 12:53 PM

I assumed it would be a 50-50 split of Joe exotic and hazmat suits this year, well I was hoping at least, I still plan to give out mini bags of blue rock candy while dressed as walter white though.

We're going trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We also bought tons of candy to hand out. We decorated some outside.

Here's my kiddo doing fighting poses. And our pumpkins we did. The carved one is my boyfriend's. The middle one is the kiddo's. The boring one is mine. My son drew a typical Jack-o-lantern face, but got creative when painting it. We thought it turned out perfectly creepy.

lewdog 10-29-2020 02:50 PM

2 year old. Going as a dinosaur or ghostbusters outfit.

Dude is jacked out of his mind about it. We stroll our neighborhood EVERY NIGHT looking at decorations.

Whenever I let my son go on one of my walks with me, we always scope out decorations and which houses we think will give out the most candy.

Sorce 10-29-2020 02:54 PM

My 3 year old daughter is going as owlette from PJ masks. We have around 10 people we have made arrangements with to make sure everyone is masked up so she can trick or treat during the day.

Crazy how many people decorate for Halloween now compared to when I was a kid 30 years ago (gulp...)

My 2 year old makes us walk by the "spiders", "pumpkins", and "bad guy" (a skeleton hanging from a tree) every night. Even with it being cold, he wants to bundle up and go see them every night. Before bedtime, he has to make sure they are "sleeping" before he goes to sleep. Kids are the damn best man.

He's going as Wayne and our neighbor's daughter is going as Garth (she has straight blonde hair).

eDave 10-29-2020 03:28 PM

A skeleton. Again.

We won't be doing trick or treat but my 4 year old has a tmnt costume- think it's Raphael. Last year she went as an astronaut. 2 year old was a sorta alien.

ptlyon 10-29-2020 03:58 PM

I don't have kids, but I'm going naked with roller skates and going as a pull toy

2bikemike 10-29-2020 04:10 PM

No kiddos here and I haven't done anything for Halloween in years. Nobody came to our neighborhood where I used to live and I doubt any kids come to our new house.

However I think I will wear a mask for Halloween this year! :D

Graystoke 10-29-2020 04:28 PM

Grandkids coming over Saturday afternoon. Going to have a bonfire and hook the trailer to the quad to give them a hay ride. Prolly eat wieners And some hot drinks.
They are all cute to me so I really don’t care about the costumes but I am sorta wishing for the fat one to come as Christine from the show Baskets (Louie Anderson).
Poor kid was born fat with a whiny voice. Only 4 years old. Hope he outgrows it

When I was a kid, my dad was always the one to answer the door to hand out candy. He wore the same over-the-head clown mask every year. I have no clue how long that thing lasted.

I never saw much in KC, but also lived in the boonies the last few years before moving.... it wasn't until I moved our here that I saw the light projector things for the first time and it seemed relatively common to decorate.

Last year WalMart had a ~10-12' inflatable grim reaper... some people really go all out, heh.

My wife got a text from our neighbor with a picture of her grandkids in their costumes. We invited them over to take away some of the candy we bought. So we had those 4 kids.

For the past 11 years we have lived in places where we don't get kids trick or treating, or people soliciting at our door. Heck my last house even the Mormons walked by to avoid the uphill driveway.
