Kollman + PFF + Honey Badger: Who is correct?

Well, that's interesting.

love it. Kollmann is the man.

In any case, it will remind people that PFF isn't objective analytics. The numbers are often way off from the reality.

Keep me posted

"Opinion based grading"

What a load of ****ing horseshit.

i always say this but it's literally just game scores from the perspective of whichever PFF dudes watched the game. it's mostly subjective, they're not scores/stats derived from an algorithm.

Like the bullshit where they said Deshaun Watson outplayed Mahomes in Week 1.

htismaqe 10-29-2020 06:33 PM

It's not a coincidence that "PFF" is pronounced "pffffffffffff".

And a lot of the "PFF dudes" know less about football than we do.

They just have more time on their hands to sit in front of a TV and eat Doritos.

BigRedChief 10-29-2020 06:48 PM

PFF is known for getting the numbers right. But anyone can make a mistake, I guess. :hmmm:

But, that said their interpretation of what the numbers mean is usually totally lacking in insight or knowledge beyond the numbers.

Yeah, they hire absolutely anyone that wants to "grade" players.

No analytics or mathematics or degree of any kind required. No experience as a college, CFL, AFL or NFL player is required, either.

It's such a joke.

I think Roy III has more insight than anyone that's ever worked at PFF

For me 2009 demonstrated the value of pff grades.

KC had an OL graded at the bottom of the league. RB Larry Johnson was graded far above his production.

When charles became the starter, KC ol instantly springboarded to the top of the run block rankings.

The bad running game was not larry Johnson's fault. The run blocking was too bad. When charles played they instantly started blocking great and charles reaped the rewards. That's the narrative PFF grades would give you, and it's obviously bullshit..

Early returns are in Honey Badger's favor:
