Week 4: Let's talk about the Lions
I don't know a Lions player from Jack Shit. (Except Stafford)
How does this one play out? |
They don't stand a chance in hell
|
They’re not, we’re hot.
Excited to see our offense inside on turf. |
Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson and... homelessness? Detroit!
|
Chiefs opened as 6 point favorites, FWIW.
|
They won today. All I got.
|
Clash of undefeated teams
|
Reminds me of the Bengals game last year. Bengals were very balanced and had a couple of nice early wins. Some people over thought it and believed the Bengals would give us a good game.
The two teams went in very different directions after that. |
Haven’t lost

This should be the first time that we can really get an idea of what the defense is.
Big arm (but pretty average overall) QB, a few decent weapons, good running back, and at home for the Lions. We’re in Week 4, so there’s no more excuses about the turnover on that side of the ball. We’re not playing a gimmicky offense either, so that excuse is gone. Time to see our defense just lineup and play. |
Lions offense has been pretty meh.
Defense has played fairly well other than the meltdown week 1 in AZ. I think we pull away in the second qtr and never look back. 41-20ish...be nice to keep Stafford in check and not given up many points. |
LMAO!!!!! The Lions
|
They’ve got the strong interior DL in the league. Elite run defenders all over with Robinson, Harrison, Daniels.
But I could see Mahomes dropping 450 on their secondary. |
Lions have improved massively.
They just went into Philly and won. Can’t overlook them. Thankfully Stafford looked like ass today. |

We will destroy them

Lions are better than people think, and their defense is good.
Chiefs will roll over them by two scores. |
Don't sleep on detroit they did beat san deigo and Philadelphia two playoff teams last year so let keep the pressure up.
|
I’m old enough to remember when Stafford was Mahomes before Mahomes.

Week 17 (2017 outdoors at Denver) All of 2018 season was outdoors First 3 games of 2019 all outdoors Hopefully this is good for his ankle as well after a week on the dirt and a week in the rain. |
they do look a lot better this season but Stafford isn't gonna keep them in the game against Mahomes.

Lions are the Patriots of the North with Matt Patricia as their HC.
They have Stafford, Amendola Jesse James, TJ Hockenson and Kerryon Johnson on offense. Their defense has Trey Flowers, A'Shawn Robinson, and Darius Slay on defense. Familiar name in Matt Prater as their Kicker. It is our first NFC opponent of the season. Should be an easyish win for us. Patricia will play us similar to how NE has played us in years past. They are no where as good as the Patriots though. |

I think we go on the road in a dome and Patty is out sitting down by the 4th quarter with Matt Moore doing mop up duty. There, I said it.
|
And, we're gonna score in the 1st quarter...

I agree, I think Mahomes with light them up. |

This is a game we can handle just fine. Need to get some better play from the safety position, though.
|
Last time the Chiefs played in Detoilet was when Jim Schwartz ran up the score on Todd Haley.
|
The Lions were actually my early trap game worry. Don't have a read on this game yet, but i'm probably not walking into it as confident as I was before the Ravens yet. I don't think this is going to be a put our helmets on the field and win kind of game.
|
72-15, Chiefs
|
We haven't beat the Lions in Detroit since 1996.

They can't keep pace with this Offense. |

Detroit sucks. Chiefs win 45-17
|
Lions might be playing without Darius Slay.
|
Andy Reid will not be outcoached by the likes of Patricia, and Money will never be outplayed by Stafford
My knee jerk sense says it could maybe be ugly and weird looking... but Detroit is about to meet the ultimate engine, and it has the horses to win ugly or not |

This has rape written all over it.... |
They looked good today.
Stafford can't run around like Jackson so I think we're gonna be OK. |

Ive only seen a little bit of lions fooseball and they just feel like an uninspired team. Like patriot level emotional lock down without the BB genius to keep things going.
|
Darrel Williams was productive today. I wouldn't be surprised if he get's more work vs Detroit. If he keeps producing like he did today, I think he's more of the work horse type of RB than Damien or Shady.

As an NFL fan, I'm embarrassed to admit how little I know about the Lions. They're kinda like the Bengals of the NFC. You know they exist, but they always suck so you don't pay any attention to them.
Might have to review some game tape (watch YouTube highlights), and see if a Lions fan forum even exists and do some reading there. |
Report from the Lions fan forum:
They don't talk about much. They felt like they were kinda lucky to beat Philadelphia. They are entertaining the idea of trading for Jalen Ramsey. There was also this. Quote:

I'll be there!
|
Damn, didn't know our bye week came this early.
|
As I'm reviewing the game tape.
1.Stafford looks like a statue in the pocket. 2. The Eagles are repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot. So many mistakes. Jesus I'd be furious if I were an Eagles fan. 3. Stafford can make some throws when he has time. 4. The Lions defense looks like they're running in quicksand. It's like watching an entire defense of Reggie Ragland's. 5. Avoid kickoffs to Agnew. Punts too. He's had 2 good returns. Summary: The Lions will probably score some points against our defense. Depending on how long we keep our foot on the pedal, our offense might score 40+ with ease. I wish we were at full strength against this defense. Would be fun to watch all our receivers on turf. Chiefs win by double digits. |
Detroit's offense was hot garbage in that game. You can tell that just looking at the stat sheet.
We are going to run them right out of their own building. I may have to make a Lion King meme. https://img.maximummedia.ie/joe_ie/e...3220724691.jpg |
I was gonna say, not sure if it was just a narrative or truth but it feels like Detroit should have a pretty slow defense. Super stout up front but slow.
Not good against this Chiefs team. |
Lions have improved a great deal.
But they were monumentally shitty before....and have since graduated to just shitty, where they currently stand today. Golladay, Marvin Jones are good WR's. They have a good RB and Stafford can still chuck the ball around, even though historically he's been kind of a turnover machine. I just don't think this will be a pushover game like some think. It's a road game for one...always tough to win on the road. |
Mahomes is gonna let it ****ing rip in a dome
Stop being a pussy |
So I just watched most of the Lions Eagles game. Really paid more attention to the offense than the defense.
Their OL seems soft. Allowed themselves to be pushed around by a dinged up Eagles DL. Didn't give up 9 million sacks though, like they did last year. Run game didn't look that great. They had one big gain (41 yds?), other than that they were averaging less than 3.1 yds/carry. I think they were using three RBs today, and all pretty big guys from what I could tell. in spite of this and the Eagles weakened DL, as a group they only ran for 86 yds and a TD. They have three pass-catching TEs they like to use. They could be trouble. Especially TJ Hockenson, the rookie. He looks big and fast (for a TE), runs a good route and has pretty good hands. Like the guy for the Ravens. Only WR that looked consistently decent was Marvin Jones Jr. 6-for-101 and a TD. Their no. 1 receiver Galladay only caught two passes today for 17 yds, no TD. Amendola was also a relative non-factor, 4-for-37. In total, the Lions threw for 201 yds and a TD. I checked a couple Lions boards and mostly they've written this one off. Two guys think that Stafford is as good as Mahomes, just doesn't have the weapons or the OC. They believe that Stafford will come alive at home and "destroy the over-hyped Chiefs." At first glance, they look a lot like the Raiders this year. Improved over last year, but not close to the same class as our Chiefs. |

We took an AFC powerhouse punch today and gave them the finger. Detroit is smallfry. |
If we had Hill, we’d probably drop 60 in that place.

We're absolutely going to slaughter them. WRITE IT DOWN

The thing that came out of the Ravens game that was a real positive was with Darrel Williams the Chiefs can run an efficient 4 minute offense to bleed the clock.

I haven't watched a Lion's game but stats look solid.
Beat the Eagles, Chargers but tied Arizona? 61/61 PS and PA Ranked just above league average in most areas. Sacks are one of their better categories; 9 sacks, ranked 7th A lot of Knock passes down but don't catch them very often considering; 26PDs/2ints |

Ive always loved Darrell since last year. I’m glad he’s getting reps. Trade Damien Williams tho. Also I’m betting on Tyreek returning this game. Said 2 games originally and I will stand by that. Btw I love his fresh haircut
