**Wednesday, May 1st Royals at Blue Jays GDT**
Bottom of the 1st, Lugo on the bump in the rubber game of the series…
Go Royals
Beat me to it, ignore mine. Sorry didn't see it when I started to post.
Mike Sweeney is calling this game isn't he? If so I really really like him.
Also I really enjoy this Reggie Miller, JJ Watt, and Luke Wilson commercial.
well shit. mlb666 streams are down
****ing hell, Mike Trout is soooo injury prone. It's sad as hell. Dude is so ****ing good.
Lugo's looking pretty sharp so far. :thumb:

He looked quite good in making the conversion to SP in San Diego last season and only got better as the season progressed. San Diego did a lot of spade work to get him stretched out and now the Royals are getting the benefit of it. And while he's not a 120 pitch guy, his efficiency will get you 6-7 innings at about 100 pitches. And he's not a fireballer so you don't really have to worry about the max-effort stuff burning him up (though pitchers are pitchers; they're still ticking timebombs). 2/$15 million is gonna be a steal for him when it's all said and done. I mean hell, you can get that much value from him with about 4 good months of pitching over the life of the contract. Guy's nearly half paid-off already... |
Looks like Cy Bassitt so far, no hits thru 5 innings for the Rs.

Isbel with a lead off double.
Witt gets us on the board!
Quote:
Springer/Vlad Jr and Bichette combined probably have an OPS just barely north of .600. And if you take away the 5 day stretch from Vlad where he had 2 homers and 5 hits, they wouldn't even be scratching .600. What the hell happened to those guys? |
Way to go Witt!
Bobby!
Cmon Salvy!!!
Vinnie with a double, 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.

Just seemed unnecessary. |
Yesssss….

But Bassitt let him off the hook with a high fastball while ahead in the count. Tight game, you wouldn't think going up the ladder to set up a likely fly ball out (and sac fly with Witt's speed at 3b) would've been the way to go. And Salvy got on top of it to get the base knock. |
Way to go Salvy!
A complete and utter embarrassment
Niiiice. I’ll take it. 3-0 good guys.
Quote:
Nice. 3-0 Rs.
Quote:
I mean they all but begged him to get that run in. If you're gonna pitch to him at all, keep the ball down and out of the zone. It was just dumb. |

How long into the season do you think Salvy can keep this up? As the heat comes and he gets beat down surely his production will suffer. |
Bobby with the defensive gem.
Beautiful play BWJ!

Stop bitching because you're shitty right now. Maybe get fat again? Or skinny again? Or whatever the **** it was you did for that season when you actually lived up to the hype. Y'know, that ONE season. In your 6 years in the league. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Vlad Jr. is fat Casey Kotchman. |

Bichette is as streaky as it gets (and appears to be going through one of the worst cold streaks of his career) while Springer is just old at this point and is effectively turning into late career Joe Carter/Vernon Wells for the Jays. The Jays should be rebuilding. |
Jansen with the solo shot, 3-1 Rs.
And the reason Vlad was good in his one year was because he hit the ball in the air that year. He's never figured out how to do that in any season before or since then. Grounders upon grounders upon grounders
I swear, Salvy gets nailed on the hands every game, one way or another

Don't give him anything to hit - he's gonna swing anyway and probably put the ball on the ground. For one year he was selective and waited for a pitch to drive. So he could elevate it even without massive changes to his swing. Every year before and since he's just been way too aggressive up there. Maybe if he had some real thunder behind him in the lineup pitchers would come at him again but with Bichette doing dick and the rest of the lineup atrophying around him, there's just no reason to throw him a strike. It ain't like he's gonna hurt you on the bases. |
Toronto seem scared of playing baseball against the Royals.
What you think, KCC? |

#love you Salvy. |

Good at HR derbies though |

I’ve been saying this for years. Get a manager in here who didn’t abuse Perez by having him lead MLB in games caught by a decent margin, and his offense would hold up better. |
Winning is fun.
Oh, and one more thing…. Seth ****ing Lugo…. Dude is swinging a hammer between his legs this year.
Let Go Cowards!

Just checked the schedule. You're safe Blue Jays. You can come out and start playing baseball again . . . . . or whatever that is you've been doing this year. |
That'll be 5 of 7 from the BJs. Way to go Royals!!

Excited about facing a REAL team on Friday to see where the Royals are really at. |
Salvy should have splashed Massey with a bag of milk
Canada should really stick to hockey and leave baseball to America.
Quote:
And both guys seem to completely refuse to do anything about it. At least Walker is only 21 - should be another 4 years or so before I give up on him being worth a damn. Maybe he'll have a Vlad year in there somewhere... |

What a disgrace. You know you’re bad when you’re undeniably worse than the Royals
