Stadium Watch 2024 -Jackson County Residents: How Are You Voting?

Vote in this poll if you actually live in Jackson county.

We've all shared our opinions in the other thread. But who gives a shit what somebody in Platte County or Johnson County or Phoenix or NYC thinks. We're all just noise.

Titty Meat 03-28-2024 08:28 AM

I'm voting NO

Pablo 03-28-2024 08:30 AM

ANNNDD I ****ed it all up and didn't make it a public poll

penguinz 03-28-2024 08:31 AM

No ones business but mine on voting choice for any election.

FloridaMan88 03-28-2024 09:06 AM

Get ready for the Nashville Royals and the Overland Park Chiefs if you vote no.

No pressure.

Is it just for the royals stadium or both?

Both. For whatever weird reason the Chiefs and the Royals always like to be a package deal.

My personal opinion is that it's also best practice to give an option for everyone to click (i.e., I don't live in Jackson county) so that those of us who don't live in Jackson County don't have to click "view poll results" every time we open the thread.

Because they rent from the same landlord on the same location for the past 50 plus years.

TLO 03-28-2024 09:17 AM

Yes but most tenants who are completely separate entities don't submit a joint application to a landlord. It's strange. Somebody might not want a downtown baseball stadium, but if they want to stop it they need to agree to also destroy Arrowhead.

Woogieman 03-28-2024 09:28 AM

Yes...I am typically against public resources for these projects, but I paid for P&L and I paid for the Street Car, and this project has FAR greater personal benefit than the former. Kansas dweebs will start adorning the stadiums with "Wizard of OZ" references, and I could not bear that. A gold sidewalk into the stadium will not stand...

Thank you DaFace.

This makes a ton of sense and gives the poll the correct options.

I read somewhere they struck down a renovation proposal 20 years ago (iirc) and then came back a couple years later and it passed... feels like it'll happen again.

They hastily made up a plan and will get an idea of where voters stand, while getting a bunch of feedback as it's struck down... and then they still have 7 years to put it up for another vote once they address the issues, while it hopefully won't feel as much like a strong-arm next time.

This is probably the way.

I honestly can't believe how poor this roll out is.

They basically just want this hand out and do not want to give a lot of details...the ones they give are abstract and non binding and then they are like...hey just trust us we will figure out the details later.

****ing stupid.

Yeah, I didn't think there was anyway this didn't pass, but it's starting to feel that way. If it doesn't pass, then they have time to stop being so secretive and sketchy and give this another shot. A quick Google search says it takes 1.5-3 years to build a stadium. That's plenty of time.

It's a grift, the amount of money he wants is about the same as the value of the Royals.

Dude wants the stadium to sell the Royals and double his worth.

Keep believing that as you vote no.

You and Reeruns of your ilk such as the illiterate hack Frank White will look rather stupid when the Royals end up in Nashville, Portland, Salt Lake City, etc.

Are you aware there are at least five cities actively trying to lure an MLB franchise?

****ing stupid.

If they'd just firmly stuck with the East Village site from the get-go and announced this thing six months ago; there wouldn't be a fight about this. It wouldn't be a hot topic.

Only the Royals could fumble a bag this hard, and they still might get their votes. But it's just because Jackson county voters will slap a 'yes' vote on anything they perceive makes them a 'big time city' - not because they earned those votes in an honest effort.

The myopic stupidity of Reeruns voting no on this is hilarious.

It’s not increasing the 3/8th-cent county sales tax already in place for the Chiefs/Royals… it’s extending the life of that tax from the current 7 remaining years to 40 years… to secure the Chiefs/Royals in KC long term.

But if you are taking your guidance from an illiterate loser like Frank White, then are you an epic life fail who deserves to live in a city barren of professional sports teams.

So you are partially correct.

Don't live in the city so don't give a shit which side of the state line the Chiefs play. The Royals can piss up a rope. Dog shit organization with a dead farm system in a stagnant sport that loses relevance every year.

Just because a group of idiots / bad actors have a stance on an issue doesn't mean that stance is wrong.

I'm sure a lot of serial killers liked fried chicken. That doesn't mean everyone in a Chik Fil A drive thru wants to murder a bunch of people.

LMAO We so sure Sherman and Manfred can even pull off a relocation without shitting all over themselves? Look at the ****ing debacle they've already got with Fisher and the A's. They massively overplayed their hand and now the current lease expires this year with no location or funding even in place for Vegas and a pretty significant push back for the move even happening.

You’d be willing to lose the Royals just to avoid keeping the same 3/8-cent sales tax in place? LMAO

Seems like a weird hill to die on… not wanting to keep the exact same county sales tax in place.

Yeah it should go to “worthwhile” causes like the KC Tenants and their two supporters who also make cameo appearances as Frank White voters.

This is the opposition to keeping the Chiefs/Royals in KC long term… The illiterate bitter loser Frank White and this group…

Quote:

KC Tenants is the citywide tenant union, an organization led by a multigenerational, multiracial, anti-racist base of poor and working class tenants in Kansas City. KC Tenants organizes to ensure that everyone in KC has a safe, accessible, and truly affordable home.

We believe the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. To us, organizing is fundamentally democratic; it relies on developing tenant leaders to learn their rights, tell their own stories, and determine their own liberation.

Chiefs = awesome winners that were tacked onto this at the end for support.

Royals = losers and catalyst of this entire vote and undeserving of anything.

If this vote doesn't pass it has zero to do with support for the Chiefs and says everything about the lack of support for the Royals and Sherman's delivery of this message.

If you vote no next Tuesday you are siding with that group… and Frank White.

Frank White… whose only relevance in his pathetic life was his association with the Royals… and he’s forever bitter that they kicked his deadbeat ass to the curb.

Frank White who misused $20 million+ in tax payers dollars allocated to fight crime/drugs… to bankroll his degenerate lifestyle.

That’s who the no voters are siding with. ROFL

ROFL

I have as much of an impact of this vote as you do in Miami. I'd never live in Jackson County.

But it is 12 to 10 in this poll for Jackson county voters. On a Chiefs message board. For a vote that will support the Chiefs. Should tell you all you need to know about how overwhelmingly popular this proposition is.

Is this your tap-out after equating the Chiefs/Royals to “crackheads outside of a gas station”?

LMAO

I thought it was kind of funny personally. Imagining a strung out John Sherman outside of a QT trying to grab a vote or two.

And cut it with the tap-out language, that's DC dipshit stuff. I know you're active there and those are your people, but it's not how I roll.

There are a lot of crazy people in the DC who range from intelligent to stupid. KCChiefsFan88 is less on the crazy side than most of them but he is in his own tier when it comes to being a ****ing idiot.

If you gave him a lobotomy it would double his IQ.

So you would vote no on this ballot initiative if you lived in KC?

Even your usual dense British dumbassery should be able to see the illogical hilarity in voting no for this.

This is kinda fun!
