Bills cleaning house

The Bills have cut:
Mitch Morse
Jordan Poyer
Nyheim Harris
Deonte Harty
Siran Neal
TreDavious White
Restructured Von Miller by $17.5 million
Restructured Rasul Douglas

Freed up $37 Million ish.

cmh6476 03-07-2024 11:35 AM

So they aren't taking the afc this year either?

Womble 03-07-2024 11:36 AM

Waste of time cleaning up all that shite. Gallon of petrol and a lighter should do the trick.

kcgreene 03-07-2024 11:36 AM

And yet they are still 7.6M over the cap (according to Spotrac)

Most will re-sign to team friendly contracts -Bills Denial Squad

Surely a Josh Allen restructure gets them the rest of the way to signing the draft class and having a mild free agency?

Lzen 03-07-2024 11:40 AM

Bills sideline guy was on 610am this morning. He sounded as delusional as Bills fans. Talked like they were so close with the Chiefs in the playoff last 2 times and as if that will continue. Not with cutting all of those quality players. I understand some of them are getting older and/or not living up to their contracts but still, that is a lot of talent lost. And i doubt they will be able to replace all of it.

Can Josh Allen pick up the slack like Mahomes has done? We will see. I doubt it.

Who wouldn't sign that team friendly deal to experience more playoff torture in Buffalo?

The Franchise 03-07-2024 11:42 AM

Miller took a paycut. He didn’t restructure.

Oh I wouldn't doubt that, it's just entertaining to me that they were that much over to the point they still need to do that after cutting so many quality players (not to mention the starters they're already losing in Free Agency)

I simply don't think Allen's playing style does well against Mahomes. Mahomes with Reid poke and prod at defenses to see what they do and then press the gas late once they've found out.

Allen's only advantage over Mahomes is his insane athleticism and great running ability, but the more he does that, the more tired he gets as the game goes by and he makes dumb passes, poor decisions, it's just rough.

Right. Plus, Allen's style is going to make his career much shorter, IMO.

Ok...Sims and Florio said his total contract numbers did not change. That he just turned them into incentives with some being in 2024 and some in 2025. They were not sure if they were going to fall into likely or unlikely to be achieved.
That is not technically a pay cut but that is probably how it works out.

He can make more this year it was all pushed into incentives, not sure his incentive affect cap though , he was set to make 17.5 can now make up to 20

FloridaMan88 03-07-2024 12:07 PM

Buffalo’s window closed before Mahomes ever allowed it to be open.

arrwheader 03-07-2024 12:41 PM

They are fked. If they couldn't beat the chiefs with Allen rookie deal, then stacked with talent, how the hell are they doing anything without the talent and no cap? They will have to draft extremely well in later rounds, they do have what 11 picks this year? Don't like that but Bills are gonna Bill.

Chiefs shut Buffalo's window. Hope they slam Cinci's for good next.

displacedinMN 03-07-2024 12:46 PM

Cant cut Hamlin

nychief 03-07-2024 12:48 PM

These are all good cuts for them, they are years behind doing what we've done...refresh with new talent year in and year out.

Gary Cooper 03-07-2024 01:14 PM

They're saving up money to pay Gabe Davis.

BigRedChief 03-07-2024 01:18 PM

The 13 second game crushed their souls. Sorry but not sorry about that. We have our own history with playoff collapses.

Hog's Gone Fishin 03-07-2024 01:47 PM

There's going to be a ton of tables crushed tonight and dildo's everywhere

pugsnotdrugs19 03-07-2024 01:57 PM

I kinda liken where Buffalo is to where Baltimore was around 2021. Roster clearly headed the wrong direction and it might show for a couple years with teams that are wild card caliber or a division winner that can't go the full distance.

If they draft well this year, they could probably swing back to a top notch roster by 2026.

Josh Allen will be entering his 30s at that point. If he continues to run rough shot into linebackers and safeties in his 30s he is going to age and QUICK!

Just noticed that they have to pay Allen 30 mil more than last year. LOL. Good luck closing the gap with a KC team that's still very young and ascending and has way more resources to improve.

scho63 03-07-2024 02:06 PM

What is expected with Gabe Davis?

They will restructure Allen this year, just like they did last year in mid-March. Keep on kicking the can down the road.

I have to admit that this year might have been the happiest of my life since...well, Division Bell at Arrowhead in 94.

Pinchshot 03-07-2024 03:23 PM

Von Miller still taking a paycheck?

bdj23 03-07-2024 04:32 PM

They cut White? Think if the Bills knew then what they know now, they trade KC that pick?

If they draft well they'll be fine. They don't have the best track record, though.

Josh Allen couldn't win with the version of the Bills with all of the above talent, and now they are going to try to do what the Chiefs did these past two years? Win with mostly younger/cheaper players?

They don't have a GM like Veach to identify and draft the talent needed to do that.

They don't have a HC like Andy Reid or his coaching staff to develop and scheme up gameplans to do that.

And of course they don't have Mahomes... enough said.

Nobody left on their team from that trade , we still have prime Pat with 3 SB already in the bank.
