For a few seconds, I considered titling the thread "Kelce Retires," but I'm not that cruel. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'd have to take away my thread privs. ROFL

ToxSocks 03-04-2024 12:06 PM

More time to watch his bro play ball in the Chiefs luxury box w/ T-swift.

DaFace 03-04-2024 12:06 PM

Aww, he's crying before he even starts. You have to love the guy's passion.

ThyKingdomCome15 03-04-2024 12:07 PM

Heck of a player for sure. Watching him and Travis has been special.

T-post Tom 03-04-2024 12:07 PM

Now looking for full-time designated driver. :)

ThyKingdomCome15 03-04-2024 12:10 PM

LMAO

FloridaMan88 03-04-2024 12:12 PM

I like it when players of his caliber have a press conference to make the retirement announcement official rather than just a social media statement.

Bowser 03-04-2024 12:13 PM

Respect to Jason. Well earned retirement for the future HoF'er.

I look forward to the Jason Kelce sightings at Chiefs tailgates next season.

irafreak 03-04-2024 12:17 PM

I wouldn't want to back to that disaster in Philly either.

No. I think Schefter published that but Kelce refuted it on New Heights that week. Said he needed time to process.

Gravedigger 03-04-2024 12:25 PM

You can always come out here and be an offensive line assistant for us man, have Andy Heck and Big Red get your coaching career jump started the right way.

T-post Tom 03-04-2024 12:26 PM

No way he can unretire after this press conference. Respect the passion. Good look going forward #62!

wazu 03-04-2024 12:26 PM

Wait, when Kelce says "biggest dick on the team" did he mean himself or Nick Foles?

Jason really crying big time. Jason earned this.

DaFace 03-04-2024 12:34 PM

Pretty crazy that 50k+ people are watching a player press conference in the middle of a Monday afternoon. I wish there was an objective way to measure the collective love of a player across the NFL - Jason has to be up there in the top of all time.

FloridaMan88 03-04-2024 12:37 PM

Move Creed to LG to replace Thuney, sign Jason, sign cap casualty Tyreek Hill, 4th straight Super Bowl. Dream team.

The guy is an absolute class act. Probably my favorite non Chiefs player of all time.

chiefzilla1501 03-04-2024 02:06 PM

Knowing Jason’s character I have a feeling he knew right after the eagles loss he was finished. Not even debatable for him even though he pretended like he was seriously considering another year. But he didn’t want to give red meat to the media blaming the eagles locker room culture. And he didn’t want to take the spotlight away from Travis during the Super Bowl run.

Not a coincidence that he chose this timing to make the announcement. And not surprising he made that choice with class.

I tried to watch, but I couldn't make it farther than a few minutes.

I don't know why, but things like this, seeing someone I like, being so torn up, and emotional, makes me emotional. I just couldn't keep watching.

I know he is probably going to a Fox studio show, because of the NFC, but I wish he would join ESPN or FS1.

Man, wouldn't he be a great addition to First Things First? Hopefully we would never have to see or listen to the human equivalent of white milk, known as Mangini, ever again. Unfortunately, apparently Nick and Mangini are so close they watched the SB together.

SHOWTIME 03-04-2024 04:16 PM

what a good guy. was hoping he’d play a year with Travis before calling it quits. Kudos to Reid for discovering the Kelce brothers.

He should be on the NFL "how to be a pro football player" committee

Megatron96 03-04-2024 08:55 PM

First ballot Hofer. One of the very best to ever play the position. One of the very best football players in NFL history. And a truly awesome human being. Damn, I'm going to miss watching him play.

Congratulations on a fantastic career, Jason. We're all going to miss seeing you on the field, sir.

IowaHawkeyeChief 03-04-2024 09:10 PM

Football is about the only sport that once your competitive time is over, whether that be HS, College or at a Pro level, you are done. You can never truly play the game again. YOu can play flag, but it's not even close. Most other sports, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball, even wrestling and track you can compete with a similar structure. It was one of the saddest days in my life when I was done playing in college.
