It is a pretty fascinating look behind the curtain however. If all you did was consume Chiefs-produced content you'd get the impression that the entire experience of being a Chiefs player was heaven on earth.

They had a bad report card last year with some of the same complaints.

Reading the ratings for the locker room I am wondering because of the age of the stadium it is not easy to expand it. That seems to be the main issue.

Not a good look for the players, either.

Clark probably should have invested in upgrades previously, but now the timing doesn't make sense to do anything substantial as they are about to do the massive Arrowhead renovations.

Having lived through 20 years of that shit-stain Dan Snyder in DC, I don’ get this at all. Win Super Bowls, seemingly treats people fairly, no off-the-field drama from the owner, hot daughter, what’s not to like? To me, the Hunts seem like the best owners in the NFL by FAR.

The game day locker room in the stadium was renovated recently, but the locker room in the practice facility that the team uses more frequently is very outdated.

How do they look bad? Regardless of how unreasonable you think they are for asking for a new locker room, unless the players all decided it was **** Clark Hunt day and lied on their submissions, Ownership promised them a new Locker Room during the 2023 off season and cited them being too successful as why it didn't get done. That's a horrible look for Clark.

That's the game day locker room in the stadium... there is a separate locker room in the practice facility.

They do travel around the league and see the other locker rooms though...like it's kind of ridiculous but the Oregon Ducks have nicer facilities than most NFL teams.

Yea, saying hey you won the SB so we didn't do the locker rooms is a really shitty look.

Perhaps the players are unhappy that there are no decent cheerleaders to fornicate with. The buck stops with Clark Hunt on that one.

Well at least this should give Buffalo fans something to be excited about.

You can't compare that, you have to compare to today and what's across the league and even in college.

I wouldn't really use college locker rooms as a measuring stick though to be fair. They use those as recruiting tools for young kids that they don't have to pay so they can just go all out on them.

But anyways, the locker rooms in the chiefs practice facility are pretty damn outdated.

Some of these things are very easy to fix. It isn't hard to upgrade the weight room and weights, get more training staff, and fix the food.

Some of these other complaints like size\space are due to Arrowhead being old.

All the players said they loved the Raiders facilities during the Super Bowl week.

Better upgrade the practice facility, Clark.

Comparing 2024 to shit from 1982 just isn't gonna fly things have changed. The amount of money the NFL makes for one has changed.

None of these have anything to do with Arrowhead. Chiefs practice facility is its own building and area down the hill from Arrowhead.

So the takeaway should be that surveys have no impact on winning.

Grown men shouldn’t have to share rooms on road trips.

Has nothing to do with with players wanting what they were promised and wanting to be comfortable relaxing at the facility they spend 8-12 hours a day in.

The goal is to win championships not make the players comfortable.

I would bet money the teams who have the best rated facilities don't have a lot of playoff wins in the last five years.

Sure, for the most part I agree, but the players were told it was getting renovated and then got the lol jk nvm because apparently a month in January was the difference. It's complete bullshit if that's how Hunt and the ownership actually managed it.

I understand why the players don't like it - it's not at all impressive in person, regardless of the photographs. That said, there's just not a shitload that can be done quickly. You'll have to excavate further area under the stadium to expand it.

I can't speak to the training facilities or anything - they didn't let us go back there. But the locker room is nothing to write home about. I suspect the overwhelming majority of guys came from better lockerrooms in college if they played at Power 5 schools. I know Mizzou's is better.

Yea pretty much any P5 locker room is probably better, the shit they put in those is pretty ridiculous.

The players want the shiny new training/practice facilities that have recently been built in Dallas, Minnesota, Miami, Las Vegas, etc.

This is where the players spend most of their time during the season and these facilities include a locker room that is used way more frequently than the home stadium locker room (that the Chiefs renovated at Arrowhead in 2021 but it's only used on gamedays).

Is it a bad look for well paid players to be crying about facilities? Maybe, but that is what they are expressing with these survey results.

The Kansas Jayhawks are about to have better football locker rooms for their practices than the Chiefs.

I’m a proud Jayhawk fan, but that absolutely should be looked at as a priority for ownership. If Clark really did make a promise and not follow through with it, then this feels pretty understandable.

I do think the players are moreso talking about the locker room at the practice facility than at Arrowhead. The one at Arrowhead is comparable to others around the league and plus, they only have to be there a few hours 10-12 weeks a year. The practice facility one where they are there for multiple hours a day for 6 months a year is just bad. Them getting new chairs instead of the stools they had as their upgrade is kind of hilarious LMAO

It's just the going rate of what has to be done. In college teams like USC had to invest a shit ton of money because recruits thought they had shitty facilities compared to say Oregon.

Also the indoor practice facility has very little sideline in areas. This is what led to Nazee Johnson's injury last year, and IIRC someone smashed into a door and cut themselves on the glass a year or two earlier.

The Packers did a complete and full reno on that stadium not that long ago, while it's the same stadium everything in it is new.

The Chiefs are one of 6 teams that makes young players have roommates on the road according to the report card..
