Weird career. Went from a ~500 yard per season WR receiver to out of the league after one down year.

This guy last caught a pass (6 of them) in 2021.

He has elite speed and quickness.

He hasn't played in two years. This is such a meh move, I don't even understand it... also I think it has very little to with Toney. if they are going to pull back snaps or bench toney, they'll do it and elevate someone on the team, not this retread, right?

He's been on and off practice squads this year. He's probably in OK shape.

Jarvis Landry wasn't that athletic when he was drafted. His last year playing he looked slow as hell.

This is just how this team operates. Miller put up good numbers in this offense under Nagy, and that means something to them. You give him a few weeks he can probably realistically contribute if needed. You sign a guy like Landry and he'd be useless here.

If he doesn't put the ball in to the opponent's hands... he will already have added more to this team than Toney has. Two downfield blocks and he has met MVS's total output this season.

It was just worth noting a pattern that maybe completely escaped us. That we may be playing favorites with guys in the Reid tree

Toney = Kafka
Miller (maybe Mooney one day?) = Nagy/poles
Richie James = Kafka / embree

But did we have blinders on Toney and James? Are we setting ourselves up again with mooneys name being tossed around for the offseason? I know it’s a side topic to Miller. But it’s something to be wary of

It also begs the question of if our insistence of finding system guys made us unwilling to make a move earlier in the season, when we actually had a shot of bringing in a guy who could help later in the season

Familiarly. They value that in WRs more than anything, even talent.

He probably knows the playbook inside and out. To them, that’s more important than having elite talent for a depth WR.

It’s weird that the Houston Texans waived Anthony Miller less than three months after doing this trade to get him. I remember him his rookie year and he was impressive.

His journey looks very odd. He was very productive for a few years, certainly more than any WR on our roster besides Rice. Then he just fell off a cliff and was out of the league. Seems abrupt, maybe he’s someone who can actually contribute by playoff time. Certainly couldn’t be worse than what we’ve seen so far.
