Farm living with goats...

Here is a series of videos I took from two days ago on the farm. Had 3 goats get out of their enclosure but thankfully they have no interest in wandering away... they stay right by home.

Most of them are fainting goats with the exception of one.

I hope you enjoy the following presentation. Hit the right arrow to view the next short video.

lucky, typically the goats will climb up on the tallest structure available, usually a car in my neighbors case

stumppy 07-13-2022 10:39 PM

They'll get out again.

Fish 07-13-2022 10:56 PM

It's convenient that you can just run up and scare them and collect their cute little passed out bodies.

TripleThreat 07-13-2022 11:19 PM

What’s the goat feel like? Same sensation or nah.

ThyKingdomCome15 07-14-2022 03:14 AM

Goats pee on their face and smile at you.

BigRichard 07-14-2022 07:45 AM

Would goats do well on a side of a steep hill? I have a steep hill on my property that can't be mowed through conventional methods. I was thinking about doing an enclosure on it and maybe using my backhoe to create at least a small landing to build a shelter for them. Let them be my mower for the hill.

They will eat your orchard

We had one male… ****ing Mason, he was gross as ****. He would constantly be licking his dick then smacking his lips as he licked the cum off them. Everyone stayed away from him

Lmao, they really can be some nasty mother****ers.

Iowanian 07-14-2022 09:23 AM

When I was a kid my dad brought home a goat named Mildred, so we'd know what it was like to have to milk a goat every day. That stupid asshole would either stomp into the bucket or shit in it almost every time. I hated milking a goat and I hated THAT goat.

I had a handful over the years on our farm. They'd break out and climb up on the deck and shit on it...or we'd have a visitor and look out and a billy had broken out and would be standing on top of someone's car. I used them to eat grass and weeds around my sheds, pond and an island on my pond. The dumbasses would wrap themselves in something and do a swan dive into the pond. I got the electric mesh fence and would move that around for them, and it never failed one would stick horns into the mesh and then gator roll into a goat taco that was getting shocked.....

It didn't take long for the new to wear off of our goat project.

Yeah, that's kinda their thing. Hell, you could just give them a brick wall and they'll find a way to climb it..

There are people/companies that rent out teams of goats specifically to do weed controle in rough terrain.

I have been wanting some goats though so I was thinking this might be a good place for them. I also have a 17 acres cabin rental business that has a ton of trees and shrubs that I could take them to and let them go to town on.

I know there are mountain goats but I didn't know if your typical farm goat would thrive on the side of a hill like that.

Titty Meat's googling "Where to buy a goat" as we speak

threebag 07-14-2022 08:28 PM

We gave Mason back to the farm we bought him from, I’m guessing he became tacos.

Mephistopheles Janx 01-13-2023 03:39 PM

Update on the farm...

I'm bringing in some more girls for my buck Wayne. Wayne is 10 months old now and ready to spread his seed. My 3 yearlings are 9/10 months old and are about ready to be mommas for the first time.

With my boy Wayne being so young we are gonna start him off easy with a harem no greater than 10.

Two videos of my current crew (Wayne, Darry, Gaylor, Rosie, and Bonnie McMurray) along with some new to them toys to climb around on.

<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/fYzUU34" ><a href="//imgur.com/a/fYzUU34">The gang gets new toys!</a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Now... the 5 new girls coming to the farm. Their names will change to fit my naming structure on the farm.

I'm gonna be setting up night and day outdoor cameras to capture their nonsense. Especially come time for them to kid so I can keep an eye on them from afar and see how everything is going post birth.

Perhaps I could even get some sort of patreon going where people watch the feed and can chip in to buy them food or the like. Who knows!?!

In the same way that the streams in a zoo is making wildlife porn... I guess.

Wayne is forever trying to mount the girls I have now. A yearling buck should only have 10 ladies to breed with. I can up that to 25 by this time next year.

My daughter in law’s grandparents raised goats for years.
My great grandmother raised goats and that’s where I learned how to milk them.
My ulcers thank goats milk
They’ll eat through the thorniest brush there is and when it’s gone they’ll start on the bark on the trees., so you have to either have to feed them or move them.
It’s just the way they are, God bless them.

Pretty much like dogs. Wayne absolutely adores me. He screams at me when he sees me outside and immediately comes to hang out with me.

The one thing I'm having an issue with is that they love going into the field next door instead of my 6 acres worth of pasture. Thankfully, my neighbor doesn't mind my goats coming over.

The flavor and consistency, to me, lies somewhere between beef and deer. I really don't understand it's lack of popularity in the US as it is one of the most commonly eaten meats in the world.

Not only that but they take 2/3 of the feed to produce as much meat as cows do. The breed I raise (Fainting Goats) even more so as it has the highest meat to bone/organ ratio of all goats.

Goats destroy everything.

Mephistopheles Janx 01-24-2023 07:38 PM

Added another 5 goats to the herd today. Poppy and Penelope are still babies and won't be ready for Wayne for another few months. Fern, Maggie and Tulip are all just over 2 years old and have been exposed to a male goat. We are fairly certain that Fern and Tulip are pregnant and Maggie may be as well but isn't really showing it. If she is... its probably gonna be a single.

I feel like I got a really good deal on these as I may be very well be getting 8-10 registered goats for the price of 5.

Their names will change to be brought in line with my Letterkenny naming structure.

Haven't taken the Solstice out to a race yet. Haven't started on the farm bike... got caught up with other projects instead.

That said... the goats are the main attraction at the farm. They are the headliners. They get top billing over everything.

I deal strictly in meat goats. I *COULD* get milk from these as well but they don't have too much and their teats are smaller making it more of a chore to do it.

The market for goat meat in MO is growing at a ridiculous rate and not just because of the number of ethnicities in the area. The price of beef has gotten to the point where people are looking for alternative sources of protein at a better price. I offer grass fed goats and the only shots they are regularly given are CD&T once a year.

Lovina = 1 boy (Hoagie)

---

I have a Nigerian Dwarf whether named Darry that is a cute guy but he is getting on my last damn nerve leading jailbreaks from the portable electric fencing. Being that he is a ND... he doesn't faint like the Myotonics making catching him quite the ****ing chore when he does get out and wants to run.

I'm considering either selling him for cheap ($100) though slaughtering, butchering, then shoving him the in the freezer may be a touch more cathartic. All the boys born on the farm this year will be castrated/banded but the largest one with the best disposition will be held back and promoted to Darry and will take his place as the whether in Letterkenny (the name of the first herd). while the rest of them will retain their sandwich based naming structure.

Potential names for the boys that will either be sold at auction, private sale, or butchered:

Panini
Hoagie
Reuben
BLT
Monte (bonus if twin boys and I can use Monte and Cristo)
Gyro
Arepa
Falafel
