2021 Recap
A rough 2nd half of our 4th straight AFC Championship game prevented us from going to our 3rd straight Super Bowl.

It was an up-and-down season with some incredible highs and confusing lows. Our Offense was at sometimes mediocre, and other times incredible, with the final game being a microcosm of this. Our Defense went from worst in the league, to the best in the league, back to somewhere in between when it was all said and done.

Last year Veach attacked the OL in the offseason with incredible results. He made a key mid-season trade for Ingram, which helped our terrible pass rush become decent again. He nailed the '21 draft with Humphrey, Bolton, and Smith.

This offseason should present a defensive mini-overhaul, focusing on the Edge position, improvements in the secondary, and just a few skill-player upgrades on Offense. The list of holes is not long, but they should be improved if we want to continue our status as the top team in the AFC.

Overview
This is the 11th year in a row that we will be tracking the college players the Chiefs have publicly or privately expressed interest in leading up to the NFL Draft.

Last year was rough in that COVID prevented people from attending most of the major events (No combine, virtual visits, etc...). While we did get Nick Bolton on our list, I'm hoping for better results this year.

For those who are new: the way this operates is that we collectively monitor various social media sources, blogs, articles and reports for news of the Chiefs' interest in a certain player. When posted in this thread, I will update the OP to include the player. *Please provide the link to the article, the players name, position and team.

I am going to try to link to player profiles when they exist, courtesy of The Draft Network, other sites' write ups, or their team's website.

Damn it, I thought that was going to be about Charleston Rambo at first glance. Harley sucks dick.

I get frustrated when WR's aren't able to break a tackle or stay off the ground after making a catch. If the play stops as soon as you catch the ball, you're holding your team back.

That said, it looks like he made some decent catches in traffic and some of the throws had poor ball placement, but he definitely doesn't look like an NFL starter on first glance.

He’s a PS guy at best.

It looks like the real prospects won't start showing up on here until we get closer to the draft. Joey Blount was the supposed star of the worst secondary I've ever seen on a collegiate level

I'm with you guys. Certainly, not a single guy so far is anything but potential UDFA caliber.

Pickens, like all Georgia WRs, scares me. They are wildly inconsistent and underdeveloped in college and it almost always carries over.

White would be an incredible pick. Born and raised in KC, is apparently a chiefs fan and models his game on Charles. Not sure he lasts beyond the third round tbh. Breece Hall is another one born In KC and may be a Chiefs fan too.

It's interesting that they used a combine meeting on a RB given how few they get. Not only that, a probable 3rd round RB. It would appear that the Chiefs aren't overly enamored with CEH and Gore as a 1-2 punch going into the season with whatever scraps they can add to the heap. Not that I wouldn't get over it, but I just don't much like the idea of using day 2 pick on the position two years after wasting a 1. Maybe they see him as a 4th round value but I'd very much doubt he fell that far.

Love Burks but Willis is weird.

Willis seems to be the guy that somebody might get aggressive for so I’ve seen a lot of teams with a QB interviewing him.

Just odd that we’re interviewing him.

Point being, like those other teams, it’s just probably an odd thing some teams do to say “if you want him come get him”.

I'd be more of the impression that good ol' Walter made a mistake than the Chiefs actually interviewing Willis.

That’s a complete rumor, so I don’t think it really counts for this thread.

2022 prospect interest that's being reported are sparse "rumors" count, because all intents and purposes there should be at least 90 names reported on the list.

For example, KC attended Malik Willis' pro day and interviewed him at the Combine, does that mean they'll draft him but they were present

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports Nebraska WR Samori Toure is drawing "heavy interest" from the Chiefs, Bengals, Packers, Colts, and 49ers.

A rising wideout prospect as the NFL Draft draws near, Toure -- who set a Cornhuskers record with five 100-yard receiving games in 2021 -- could be a sought-after player for receiver-needy teams like the Chiefs and Packers, who last month lost Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams, respectively. Toure in 2021 had the second highest yards per reception (19.5) in Nebraska history thanks to a host of big downfield plays in the Cornhuskers offense. His four catch, 150 yard, one touchdown performance against Ohio State in November drew national attention. He transferred to Nebraska from Montana, where he caught 155 passes for 2,488 yards and 20 touchdowns over three years. Toure would have immediate fantasy intrigue if he were to land in Kansas City of Green Bay.

I like the way he runs. Definitely would be a worry with the lack of play in the passing game though. 6'0" 213 4.55s 40-yard dash, 33.5-inch vertical, 122-inch broad jump, 4.44s shuttle, 7.39s 3-cone, and 20 bench reps.

Had my eyes on him early on in the process but fell off of him for a while. Reminds me that maybe I should rethink Watson and Pickens. 6'3" 190-ish WR with speed in Toure is a very similar build/profile.

I’d have absolutely no problem with Pickens in the 1st.

I dont know, im iffy about wr from that current Georgia program.

Especially ones with low production and injury history

Checked this kid out after the news came out about his visit and I must say he looks very decent indeed. Very physical with decent speed and hands.

I'm biased as a Texas Tech fan/alumni, but... (One of my posts in another thread):

"I've watched every single one of EZ's college snaps and most of his senior year of high school. He's a 2nd round talent that has suffered due to poor coaching, poor QB play, and being the sole focus of opposing defenses (double sometimes triple teamed in coverage). Pretty good measurables and great football IQ. Some team is going to get an absolute steal with him (biased opinion).

Some of you will remember me poo-poo'ing TJ Vasher last year. For as much as I hated TJ as an NFL prospect, I love EZ."

I truly expect EZ to be something special. Would love to see him on the Chiefs if the price is right.

Not even that. Winchester got extended for 2 years early in the offseason.

They probably brought him in to ask him why his combine performance was a bag of dicks. He doesn't look that unathletic on tape, that's for sure. He still runs bad routes and has spotty hands, but he wasn't that level of shit.
