Crazy things we do to our pets?

It is what it is, what are the crazy things you do to your family pet that they like? List all the things your pet likes.

I'll start by listing what Prince likes, ( half Yellow Lab, Pitbull mix).

Kids likes dressing him up.

Sleeping next to you or under the covers.

Likes to listen to music, I'll lay ear buds under his ear flaps and he doesn't shake them off and will go to sleep. Matter of fact when you remove them he takes a paw and tries to stop your hands.

Loves to crunch on ice.

Loves short car rides, but gets bored on long rides.

Loves getting bathed in the shower.

So list somethings your pet likes or things you/family do to them.

I sing to them while I work or pet them.

I am a weirdo.

Renegade 05-09-2021 11:32 AM

My cat will play "fetch". Brings us a favorite fur mouse, drops it our feet, then we throw it, and he retrieves it, repeat. We can play this game for 15-30 minutes before he gets tired.

Anything on a stick he will chew on it until he has destroyed it.

I really think he thinks he is a dog.

I integrate their names into a song I make up as I go.

They love it.

Yep, same here. They know you are calling their name as you sing a soothing melody.

My lab loves swimming but hates showers, the hose, sprinkler, rain, hell even water bottles. When we go to the lake he starts whining to get out of my truck when we're still 10 minutes away because he smells it and when we do arrive damn near rips my arm off trying to get to the water but absolutely hates anything else that can get him wet. Pretty sure my teenagers have tormented him with water bottles because anytime I pick one up to take a drink he walks away.

You know come to think about it my lab does not like the rain but he loves to get in the shower.

I have not had him to a lake yet.

Buehler445 05-09-2021 01:58 PM

I tell him all the bad stuff I can’t say to people. As long as I don’t have an aggressive tone he’s good with it.

For a year or so there I think he thought his name was some form of profanity.

Really though he just wants to be around me. He has to go to work every day. I can leave him in the office all day while I’m on the tractor and he’s good. As long as he doesn’t miss out.

Same as my old dog.

Couldn't keep him out of the pool, lakes, rivers etc...but god forbid if it rained, good luck forcing that dog to go outside to do it's business, he simply won't go near the door when it rains. Hated baths too, it was always a fight in the tub with that dog.

I've heard that when it comes to rain, showers, baths, dogs typically don't like it because of the sound.

TambaBerry 05-09-2021 02:27 PM

I lost my dog last year so nothing with dogs at the moment but my cat and this is going to sound bad but he loves when I toss him. Like he jumps up in my arms and then I grab him and like toss him a few feet in front of me and then he jumps back up and wants to do it again lol

One of my goofy dogs uses the arm rest.

Why Not? 05-09-2021 03:29 PM

One of my dogs loves popcorn more than anything else in the world. When we do movie night, we have to make him his own tub.

You take your dog along when you decide to get T-boned in a car wreck.

That's wacky and silly.

notorious 05-09-2021 03:47 PM

We adopted a stray dog from a nearby town. A fat lab mix. My son named her Rosey, I gave her the nickname "Pork-Sausage"

I talk so much shit to that dog while giving her fat ass belly rubs and ear scratches. If animals could get a complex for their weight.........

Well, I was going to keep this private but since we're all coming out sometimes I rub peanut butter all over my 14" CP penis and well, you know dogs don't mind where they get their peanut butter from and she's female so it's not gay.

Don't tell anyone.

stumppy 05-09-2021 04:01 PM

Dodger has figured out how to roll down the car window. He knows when he is sitting in the RF seat if he stands on the arm rest in just the right place the window rolls down.
When I say anything about a girlfriend to him he knows I mean a female dog. There a big difference in how he acts between saying 'there's a dog or puppy' and saying 'there's a girlfriend'.

If it’s a male dog just put it’s medicine on the peanut butter.

Dartgod 05-09-2021 06:15 PM

Our dog gets acupuncture and chiropractic manipulation every 3 weeks. She has Cushing's Disease and most dogs with that don't live to 17 years. And she's going strong. Constantly looking for food. Can't hear shit and we had to have one eye removed earlier this year.

LoneWolf 05-09-2021 06:26 PM

We have a 4.5 lb Yorkie that loves to ride on the lawnmower with me. I had an engineer at work design a seat for him that locks into the cup holder of my mower and print one on our 3D printer. All I have to say is “Max let’s go mow the yard” and that little ****er will run to the mower and climb into his seat. My neighbors think I’m nuts.

Bump 05-09-2021 07:39 PM

I give my dog a tortilla chip every once in a while, it's her favorite treat.

She gets picked on by my cat (I have 1 dog and 1 cat).

She's not allowed to walk past the cat or the cat will attack her hind legs. She'll stand there until the cat moves because she knows what will happen.
But half of the time they are sleeping next to each other on the dog's bed.

She's a sweetheart, a black lab mix.

The dogs dont hate the rain: they hate the thunder and lightning they have associated with it.

My cat loves to play fetch. Like obsessive compulsive about it. When I'm working from home, I'll throw the ball down the hallway about 50 times, and the little shit will bring it back every time and sit there and meow for more.

Ceej 05-09-2021 08:11 PM

You pay to have both of their ACLs fixed within a matter of 6 months.

I have a healer that has determined that fetch is his job.

He’s old now, but years ago he’d ****ing fetch all day.

I feel you with the OCD.

stumppy 05-09-2021 09:54 PM

Dodger loves to play frisbee. He'll run and catch it for a while and enjoy the hell out of it.

But when he's done he's done, he'll walk over to the fence, or behind a tree, drop the frisbee, hike his leg and piss on it then walk away. He does it every time he plays catch.

cooper barrett 05-09-2021 10:13 PM

mine knows the "time out" command

Used to be a real hit with the kindergarten teachers back in the day when it wasn't a moral sin.

Even the ex could say "Bad dog, CORNER" and he would run to the kitchen, put his nose in the corner and never peek to see if you were looking.

https://i.postimg.cc/zGdSw1Hj/file-256x272-000810.gif

He does a great Michael Jackson where he backs up and barks, a real hit at gatherings.

My dog is not afraid of the thunder nor lightning, so very laid back, so nonchalant. He will not go out into the rain or a heavy sprinkle to go potty, he will hold it until it stops raining or if he just can't, he leaves it all at the front door. If I leave the inside door open and the storm door closed, he lays down besides it and waits for it to stop, then will come get me to let me know, Hurry Up Old Man!

The coolest thing ever happened I used to have a toy divers cage and diver and I remember that the ghost shrimp liked to stay in the cage I assume they felt safe but one day i was watching the King Ghidorah and he literally busted through the caged door and snagged the ghost shrimp and gave this look like '**** yeah I'm a badass'. I saw it with my own eyes like a scene from a movie.
