So many guys had great games today.

It's hard to pick a guy who stood out the most.

Breeland was shutting down everything.

Jones was dominating the line, and he psychologically damaged a bunch of their players.

Mahomes was Mahomes.

Tyreek was terrorizing the backfield of the Bills.

Kelce had a season's worth of catches.

Our offensive line was solving injury problems left and right and playing well.

Sneed was Sneed, even if he didn't know that for a little while. And then Fenton came in for him with no dropoff.

This team has no weaknesses. The only thing they have to fear is fear itself. And they don't fear fear at all.

Deberg_1990 01-24-2021 10:05 PM

But the Bills won their chiefs trade!

cornerback Tre'Davious White, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and left tackle Dion Dawkins.

Ironic that you cite a trolling thread that you yourself didn't start.

Let's not forget we got 2019 Juan Thornhill tonight. If he's back to that player, our secondary is ****ing unreal. Exactly what we need to slow down Tampa

Thor bill was the defensive player I was most impressed with tonight.

smithandrew051 01-24-2021 10:32 PM

How about the run defense? It’s been a long time since we bitched about that.

Josh Allen was literally their entire run game and most of that came from pressure.

The Chiefs absolutely shut down the Bills running backs. They suck and all, but still. Great job.

smithandrew051 01-24-2021 10:33 PM

The entire defense was phenomenal. Hard to complain about much tonight.

The long catch and run by Tyreek might be the best pure YAC play he's ever made.

Dude Tyreek was just full of juice tonight. You could tell he could hardly contain himself. He just wanted to juke some fools.

Bearcat 01-24-2021 10:52 PM

At some point they showed Tyreek's stats in the 2nd half and it kind of floored me.... didn't he have all of like 2 catches in the first half?

He had an incredible 2nd half.

Kelce was destroying them the first half, so the Bills probably adjusted for that. As a result, Tyreek ended up available for a lot of those intermediate passes. And once he hits top speed.... well good luck with that LOL.

-King- 01-24-2021 11:02 PM

I'm trying to think of a better team win we've had than this (against a good opponent so games like vs the Jets don't count) and it's really hard.

Chris Meck 01-24-2021 11:05 PM

I never thought I'd say this, but...

I think you've got to extend Hitchens. He's literally placing everyone. dude is like an extension of the coaching staff.

tk13 01-24-2021 11:09 PM

The offense gets about 95% of the headlines and for good reasons because it's historic. But what Veach did with this defense is truly great. He completely turned over the defense and it's young and physical with some depth. Our secondary was just amazing today. Breeland, Ward, Fenton, Sneed, Thornhill, Sorensen, Mathieu.

It's the difference between building a legit contender and wasting Aaron Rodgers prime with bottom feeder defenses.

cdcox 01-24-2021 11:14 PM

Amazing contributions from the whole team: Thornhill, Jones, Clark, Breeland, HB, Ward, Fenton, Sorensen, SNEED, Kelce, the whole OL!, Williams, Hill, Pringle, Harrison the Keeker, Hardman, and Mahomes. Probably leaving out a few, but it was a total team win. Great job by Andy and his entire coaching staff.

The defense deserves some credit. As a unit, they played a heck of a game. No, it wasn't perfect, but they came up big when it mattered. Lot of plays today that will never make the stat-sheet, but these guys all made a difference. Can't appreciate them enough.

They were about as perfect as you can be in today's NFL. If they get that sort of pressure on Brady, he may not finish the game.

Dunerdr 01-25-2021 07:03 AM

Take away the gifted 6 points and the garbage time final score and this defense shut them down for as much as you can shut down an "Elite Offense"

Easy 6 01-25-2021 10:35 AM

Yeah the defense from front to back was On. Point. all night long, but I particularly enjoyed the secondary play... it was a blanket party, neither Diggs nor Beasley even sniffed 100 yards

htismaqe 01-25-2021 10:39 AM

Thornhill hasn't looked that good since November of last year, prior to the injury.

Clark had probably his best game of the season.

The LB's were dialed in.

Chris Jones was a beast, as usual.

Breeland was nails. Sorenson was a hammer.

This defense looked SPECIAL last night.

As I said in another thread, the Bills were a muffed punt at the 1 and a once-in-43 onside kick recovery from being thoroughly embarrassed 38-10.

Other than the quarterback position group, I think the defensive secondary is the strongest unit on the team now. It's an army of shutdown guys back there.

scho63 01-25-2021 10:43 AM

Defense had one of their best games last night and come out with a lot of tenacity.

Jones will get called for a roughing call against Tommy Boy if he is not careful.

Clark can redeem himself in Tampa with 2 sacks and a strip for a fumble.

A big part of that is the scheme.

For all the escalades that Andy and EB and Mahomes get, Spags, Hitchens, and HB deserve the same. And the Chiefs have somebody in the film room that is a certified RAIN MAN. Absolutely genious.

Him screwing up early was actually a good thing. It forced them to pump him up and ensure he got more touches than he normally would. Having both him and Hill in at the same time is like having 2 legs of a track team.

A large stable of interchangeable parts sure seems like the way to go these days

chiefzilla1501 01-25-2021 12:49 PM

Players played great. Mahomes was awesome as expected. But game ball goes to the coaches. Spags' gameplan was masterful. Reid's run and short yardage packages were genius. And in a week full of coaching mistakes and way too conservative game management, how cool is it that over the past few years Reid, criticized for being a lousy game manager, has been flat out brilliant the past few years. The gutsy 4th and 1 last week. The brilliant game changing 4th and 1 this week down 9-0.

Rain Man 01-25-2021 01:01 PM

There was one play in particular that really jumped out at me with regard to the power of this offense. It was a third and long (10 or 11 or so). Mahomes went back to pass and threw an easy pass to a wide open Tyreek on the left sideline. The Bills had given Tyreek such an enormous cushion that he just went straight downfield to the first down marker, turned around, and caught the pass with no defender anywhere near him. I don't think it was a blown coverage or anything. I think they gave him a 15+ yard cushion.

I can't think of another..

Hardman was really the only one with a major **** up and then he went on to bust a 50-harder and our first TD.

Most games I watch and someone out there isn't blowing dicks, usually Neimann or Robinson, but last night even those guys didn't suck.

Yep, that was Tre White. He was giving Tyreek that cushion pretty much all night.

Did you see the 3rd and short run conversion where Tyreek just hit the jets off the line and made White fall? Lol.

Just goes to show that Hill is the most dangerous weapon in the NFL. His skill set is just so unique.

It was probably as close to perfect as you can get.

In fact, I think it’s the performance of the playoffs.

Maybe we can’t outrun TBs performance against GB. But I don’t think GB played all that well and Rodgers did some shredding.

Sure TB wrecked NO but all they had to do was not cover anything longer than 5 yards.

Bills vs Balt? Meh. Stop the run and you’re made in the shade.

We’ve had a lot of fun shitting in Buffalo but they’re good. Diggs is a straight monster. And he did not much. They’ve run the ball after Diggs break bitches and their Rbs had what 30 yards? The only real deficiencies were that drive on prevent defense and Allen Running. And if a QB not named Lamar Jackson wants to run and as long as we get them down before the red zone, I’m thrilled.

We have the best offense in the league. And our D just straight up whipped arguably the second. That’s.... awesome.

I thought the very first action he got as a Chief looked really fast and strong. And hadn’t since. So much so that last year I thought he was washed. He was slow and couldn’t run through anything.

I wonder if he’s just now finally healthy?
