Bears looking to trade Mack?

Given the state of their offense I cant help but think they'd like a do over on this one. If true I think it has more to do with Trubisky being a bust and having no draft capital or cap space to do much about it than it has to with Mack. Worst O in the league and another year of no 1st rd pick or cap space for impact FA. |
This is an awful source

2 ones AND 2 twos?
(Falls down laughing) |
Mack is 28. They’re nowhere near actually contending.
If they got that type of return, they would be stupid to keep him. |
Does Mahomes+Tyreek+Two Firsts get it done?

I think they’d incur something ridiculous like a $30m dead money hit if they traded him
|
It’s not feasible....from any standpoint. Not happening.

The Bears aren't in a great position to eat 17.5 million against the cap. With Kyle Long's retirement, they have about 13.6 in cap space.
They'd have to cut Leonard Floyd and one of Allen Robinson, Akiem Hicks, or Prince Amukamara to be serious. Cutting Floyd puts them at 26.6 and less Mack leaves them at 9.1, which largely would be at least half absorbed by the draft class if they get that sort of haul. They'd need space to address free agency and they have 21 FAs. Cutting a 98 rec 1100+ yd receiver is not the best medicine, so I wouldn't cut Robinson. Hicks got hurt this year, but has been an 8 sack per year guy 3-4 DE in the previous two years. Not a great option either. Amukamara can clear up 9 million but you're giving up a starting CB, but that would be their primary option. Probably drop Cordarrelle Patterson along with him to gain another 4.75. So really, that's your FA money, about 14 million. Now you have 3 more voids to fill because you lose Floyd, Amukamara, and Patterson. Trading Mack is foolish IMO. They might not get alot in compensation, but they could probably get something for Floyd and Amukamara to up their draft capital. Send Patterson packing. Use about $30 of the $40 million in cap space and hit free agency and improve the core of the roster. |

He’s since been tossed from three stations including that one, all within this year, which is honestly impressive. |

I mean if I was Nagy I’d be trading his ass if I liked Tua or Herbert and it got me one of them

The dead money part is something the Bears could work around, but nobody is spending that much on him in a trade.
That and I'm not sold that the Bears are a rebuilding team. There are some FA options for them to work with and the I think they're a playoff contender once they write off tittiekisser. |

we have our highly paid Dlinemen. Once we start paying Mahomes we probably have to stick with just one. |

GM needs to be fired. Nagy is in a pickle for sure.

What a debacle this will be if they trade Mack after going up to get Mitch
|
Mitch the Bitch has the same field vision that Casshole had. Which is to say, not good.
|
I think if you are the Bears you just have to make Mack work.
Its already been reported that they want to move Leonard Floyd to same money. |
