Who’s watching?

DRM08 02-08-2020 01:07 PM

So did they pay the fans to show up?

WhawhaWhat 02-08-2020 01:08 PM

I want to see this double forward pass.

Why Not? 02-08-2020 01:10 PM

Bet the over on the late game. One thing I know about June Jones teams is that they score and give up a lot of points.

This DC team can’t be any worse than the Redskins

DRM08 02-08-2020 01:12 PM

So the two DC teams both have Ohio State guys at quarterback.

Danguardace 02-08-2020 01:24 PM

That new KO is pretty good

Yeah that should be interesting. I bet Reid could come up with some crazy double screen pass plays.

You should be able to throw a screen pass forward. Then throw back to the QB (backwards), and have the QB throw a bomb to one of the receivers that released from blocking for the screen.

If you don’t get penetration, I’m not sure how you defend that.

LittleMeatballNick 02-08-2020 01:29 PM

DC LB looked lost on that TD

DRM08 02-08-2020 01:31 PM

OK, now this is a cool deal with the point after TD. I think NFL should copy it.

1 point = 2 yard line
2 points = 5 yard line
3 points = 10 yard line

MMXcalibur 02-08-2020 01:31 PM

The quality of play looks OK thus far.

LiveSteam 02-08-2020 01:37 PM

Just turned it on

Oh, they can be alot worse. Alot.

DRM08 02-08-2020 01:41 PM

Cardale making some nice plays avoiding pass rush and keeping his eyes downfield.

Teams already should go for 2 almost ever time and don't. Going for three would almost be mandatory, but coaches still won't do it.

Would be huge for the Chiefs and Mahomes who can convert 10 yards in their sleep.

I like that. Less injuries, but that isn't why I like it. It allows for blocks and still gives the opportunity to break one.

Mahomes would get three EVERY TIME

My kid kicks a better ball.

DRM08 02-08-2020 01:48 PM

Player interviews during the game. Interesting. I like it.

Deberg_1990 02-08-2020 01:48 PM

Where do they get these refs from? Are these like NFL reject refs or refs from the college level?

Hopefully it lasts longer than the AAF

It appears from the college level. The referee is one of the referee in the Big 12, that guy I do recognize.

Deberg_1990 02-08-2020 02:26 PM

Not really digging the interviews from the sidelines immediately after player makes a play.

Sofa King 02-08-2020 02:27 PM

This has been a blast so far. I love it. Extra points are cool, Kick offs are exciting as it wouldn't take much to break one for a touchdown. Listening to play calls, interviews on the sideline, etc is all awesome. Hope it keeps going.

The main ref is definitely a Big 12 guy. Can't stand him.

Sofa King 02-08-2020 02:27 PM

Plus it's not stressful like Chiefs' games are.

I really like the extra point rule. It makes the game way more interesting. In the NFL, even a longer XP kick is still way too automatic compared to having to get into the end zone from the 2 yard line.

And this is just the first week. I have to imagine the quality of play will improve as the weeks go on. We know even in the NFL that play can be sloppy for the first few weeks.

Switched over just now after seeing the thread, didn’t even know it was on today... double forward passes sounds pretty cool

St Louis has a team IIRC, so I guess my guys aren’t on tv today

Well it’s not quite as cool as originally thought. First player still has to be behind the original line of scrimmage.

Shiver Me Timbers 02-08-2020 02:41 PM

Pretty pathetic when my sports Saturday is watching xfl
How the hell does Vegas even come up with odds on this?...

wazu 02-08-2020 02:42 PM

Nice of the XFL to broadcast the halftime adjustments coaches are making so their opponents know what to expect.

Some really nice TD plays by both teams.

crayzkirk 02-08-2020 02:57 PM

Makes for a nice afternoon nap. I just can't get into it; less interesting than a non-Chiefs NFL game. Hope everyone enjoys it. I think I'm football'd out...

TribalElder 02-08-2020 03:00 PM

this is much better than that other bullshit attempt at a league

Sofa King 02-08-2020 03:01 PM

Both of these teams could beat the Raiders by 30+

The Franchise 02-08-2020 03:02 PM

So when the guy is calling the play and you can hear it.....I’m assuming that’s just on the broadcast?

Easy 6 02-08-2020 03:08 PM

Seeing quite a few NFL names like his, Jim Zorn, Pep Hamilton, Cardale Jones etc

Yeah it’s fairly entertaining, lotsa big plays like that pick 6

These fields suck apparently. People falling down all over the place when cutting.

Coochie liquor 02-08-2020 03:27 PM

So I’m a Vipers fan I guess. Aaron Murray is my qb.

Beef Supreme 02-08-2020 03:28 PM

Not bad. Gonna have to see if it's worth picking a team to root for. I think i will pick one based on which logo i like.

Deberg_1990 02-08-2020 03:32 PM

Didn’t Jim Zorn coach in the AAF league last year too?

Dayze 02-08-2020 03:37 PM

I like it so far.

TribalElder 02-08-2020 03:41 PM

ROFL Jim Zorn

MMXcalibur 02-08-2020 03:43 PM

Call me crazy, but I don't think any of those people in the Chiefs Super Bowl commercial are really Chief fans.

Beef Supreme 02-08-2020 03:49 PM

Is Johnny 8ball going to play in this league?

Deberg_1990 02-08-2020 03:51 PM

These sideline interviews are hilarious. Some of these guys need an interpreter

Hamwallet 02-08-2020 03:51 PM

I’m imagining Brady and Belichick on the phone discussing the easy ways they could steal radio signals together in this league and pondering if its worth it to make the jump to save there “legacies” before it’s too late.

You look at the Roughnecks logo, it somewhat resembles the old Houston Oiler's logo.

Time for the LA Wildcats vs the Houston Roughnecks!

KC_Connection 02-08-2020 04:06 PM

It's so difficult to watch this trash football after watching Mahomes for 5 months.

DRM08 02-08-2020 04:09 PM

They said the goal was to have games that were done faster than NFL. First attempt didn't pull it off. 3+ hour game just like NFL.

MMXcalibur 02-08-2020 04:11 PM

"Touchdown, Renegades!"

....except they're the Houston Roughnecks.

The league definitely stocked up on former NFL guys, that certainly can’t hurt the product they’re making

Dayze 02-08-2020 04:36 PM

Love the pace of play.
The designated spotter /ball placement ref.

Interesting 2 minute rules. And punt return /touch back rules.

Everything combined seems to make it more interesting/faster. And the post to extra point options make comebacks possible all the way til the end of games..

Kickoff rules are good. Hell, they start blocking at the same mesh point basically. I LOVE that the touchback to the 35 actually encourages a returnable kickoff. NFL kickoffs are meaningless 95% of the time (kicked out of the back of the end zone).

dannybcaitlyn 02-08-2020 05:49 PM

Hasn’t been bad. I was expecting at least one blowout game but they been close.
