Patriot defense

Are we concerned yet?

There appears to be significant improvement.

ThaVirus 09-22-2019 04:58 PM

Tough to tell at this point. The level of competition they've played has been bad.

Altogether, they're the only team in the league I'd give a shot at beating us a majority of the time.

BryanBusby 09-22-2019 05:00 PM

They've played what....the ****in' Dolphins, Mono and a wrecked Roethlisberger? Eh.

Chiefspants 09-22-2019 05:01 PM

The Pats defense was otherworldly in the playoffs last year. Truly.

Mahomes is just in a league of his own.

BossChief 09-22-2019 05:01 PM

They haven’t played anybody, but their corner group is as good as it gets in the NFL and they also have great coaching.

Pat
Kelce
Watkins
Hill
Hardman
Robinson
Shady

Even with those weapons, we will need to be on the top of our game to beat them.

New World Order 09-22-2019 05:01 PM

Nah.

It's pretty much the same d as last year.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-22-2019 05:02 PM

They’ve played Luke Falk, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and an injured Ben Roethlisberger.

None of those offenses have done worth a **** in ANY game so far.

I already tried to tell you guys before the season even started they are going to be a force. This might be the best team they've fielded yet.

KC_Connection 09-22-2019 05:05 PM

Mahomes can beat it. Unconcerned.

Coochie liquor 09-22-2019 05:05 PM

Did Pedelman get hurt today?

Hog's Gone Fishin 09-22-2019 05:06 PM

They were shutting teams down in preseason. 2 games they didn't allow 100 total yards.

BWillie 09-22-2019 05:07 PM

Yes, I would be. But....

Doesnt matter. Have Mahomes.

Lprechaun 09-22-2019 05:08 PM

The game was on one of the TVs I wasnt paying too close attention. Did they pull Brady and then when NYJ scored they put him back in?

Yep, and as long as our Run D sucks it will be the same with Michel all day like it was with Ingraham all day the HUGE difference though that Brady is QB which makes their run game more devastating because Brady will score almost everytime on us. However, though with no Gronk or AB it does help us.

nychief 09-22-2019 05:12 PM

Kill Brady.

carcosa 09-22-2019 05:13 PM

No

InChiefsHeaven 09-22-2019 05:15 PM

NFL giving them as much time as possible to prepare for Mahomes...cuz they ain't seen anything like the Chiefs...

RaidersOftheCellar 09-22-2019 05:15 PM

If the defense carries that homo to multiple SB titles in his washed up years (like HGH-man in 15), depriving us during our best window of opportunity....

I don’t know what I’ll do. Probably burn Belicheat’s house down, for starters.

staylor26 09-22-2019 05:15 PM

Lol you guys really need to stop worrying about the Pats so much

They’re the only team to worry about. Not only do they have the ability and coaching, they get the calls. It’s a lot to overcome.

Our A game beats any other team by multiple scores.

I agree this may be their best team yet. They’re a machine. Mahomes is probably the only monkey wrench I can see tripping them up and hopefully he does it twice this year but I’d take just one and be fine as long as it’s the second :p

pugsnotdrugs19 09-22-2019 05:20 PM

I will say that it concerns me how weak their schedule is.

But, they have a 6 game stretch where 2-3 losses COULD come....

CLE
@BAL
@PHI
DAL
@HOU
KC

RaidersOftheCellar 09-22-2019 05:27 PM

Not sure if anyone is aware, but...

They’ve allowed a total of 3 pts to opposing offenses through 3 games.

MMXcalibur 09-22-2019 05:29 PM

They've played the shitty Steelers, the putrid Dolphins, and the offensive-less Jets.

The Patriots can get ****ed.

Ghost002! 09-22-2019 05:30 PM

Their defense is better than last year defense. They are deeper at the LB core as well as at corners. Pretty good pass rush as well.

keg in kc 09-22-2019 05:32 PM

I'll worry about the Patriots defense at the beginning of December. No point before that.

Cool.

They haven’t played an offense in the same stratosphere as ours.

seamonster 09-22-2019 05:35 PM

Mat Castle put up BIG numbers with the Patriots. Their coaches and GM's have flopped outside of that franchise. They're frauds. And they've got the oldest roster in the league. It's a possibility the chiefs blow them out in the regular season but still loose to them in the playoffs (Patriots would have stolen their game plans and schemes by then). And why is their schedule so ****ing soft? They don't play a real team until November. Nothing but cup cakes.

TLO 09-22-2019 05:37 PM

Yes no maybe idk

By that time our new and improved D will be firing on all cylinders and we will close Brady’s career like our old D did Manning’s.

jjchieffan 09-22-2019 05:48 PM

Their opponents are a combined 0-9. They may be improved. But it's hard to judge based off of the quality of competition that they've faced. If they had faced the Chiefs, Ravens, and Saints(with Brees) and looked that dominant, then there would be reason for concern.

petegz28 09-22-2019 05:52 PM

They've played a shitty Steelers team, half of which was with Ben.

They played an even shittier Miami team that scored all of 10 points in 2 games going into today

They played a shitty Jets team that's down to to their 3rd string QB

AWESOME!

The Jets scored 14 today.....was 11 of that on defense?

Two defensive/ST TDs, according to the box score.

They’ve allowed 3 to offenses in total.

Ghost002! 09-22-2019 06:03 PM

What does who they play matter. Its relatively the same core to hold the rams to 3 points. It's been just a few months since that SB. You play who is on your schedule

It absolutely matters in terms of possible injuries and rest for starters during blowout games. Chiefs have already gone against two of the most physical defenses in the league.

AWESOME!

True. Forgot that NYJ were on their 3rd stringer.

The yardage they held Miami and NY to is impressive, but doesn’t mean much.

And Big Rape threw for nearly 300. Hard to gauge what level he’s on at this point, but I’m sure Pat will get his. If their primary strength is shutting down the run, that won’t keep us from scoring.

Coogs 09-22-2019 06:16 PM

Jags gave up 13 to the Texans and 7 to the Titans. We lit them up for 40.
Ravens defense is all world. Heard it all week, right up to kickoff. No Hill. No Williams. No Fisher. Hit them up with 503 yards and 33 points. We will be fine.

Special_K 09-22-2019 07:11 PM

Their secondary is loaded and does worry me. The McCourty twins are both studs, Patrick Chung has been in the system there for a decade, and Gilmore is arguably the best corner in the league.

That said, Andy Reid knows how to score on Belichick's defenses, and Spags has beaten Brady and that offense before and knows how to limit them.

Hog's Gone Fishin 09-22-2019 07:20 PM

The last 5 games we've played those assholes we've outscored them 174-148 but we only won 2 of the 5. They won games by 6,3,7. We won by 15,27.

Easy 6 09-22-2019 07:28 PM

Brady’s 77 year old arm will be a ragged dish rag in January

Edelman and stoner McGee ain’t gonna be enough

Rain Man 09-22-2019 07:33 PM

I don't care what the Patriots do. I care what the officials do in the Patriots game, because that's the only way they're going to "win".

Hammock Parties 09-22-2019 07:34 PM

The only reason the Pats beat us last year was Gronk.

Every time there was a critical play they went to him, and we had no one who could cover him.

Gronk is gone.

And Belichick isn't shutting this offense out for halves.

kgchiefs 09-22-2019 07:39 PM

I want the Chiefs to beat the patriots in foxboro for the AFC championship! Then there will be no BUTS about the best team when we win the Super Bowl!

Edelman is 33 and already injured for the 2nd time since TC.

There’s a very good chance he doesn’t make it to the end of the season.

Who gives a damn about “buts.” How many AFC titles has NE won on the road? Not many. Not to mention we’ll have a chance to beat them in NE shortly before that anyway.

I want a party in KC.

They’re 3-3 on the road in the championship game. There will be a party regardless of where the game is played and won. I want to rub their nose in their shit at their house.

I think it’s 3-4. I seem to remember hearing 2-4 before last year.

WhiteWhale 09-22-2019 08:12 PM

Mahomes has changed the rules.

Defenses, no matter how good, aren't REALLY a problem anymore. Dude goes for 350 and 3 TD's on everyone. KC always scores more than 25. He's unstoppable.

RunKC 09-22-2019 08:21 PM

If everyone stays healthy, we can’t be stopped.

Bill stopped Manning when he only had Harrison, Wayne, Clark and Adam.

We have at least 3 more weapons than that team. Bill isn’t going to be able to do this shit against us again.

Pat will be ready

Won at Pittsburgh ‘01 & ‘04. Won at KC ‘18

Lost at Indy ‘06 and twice at Denver ‘13 & ‘15

3-3 on the road is impressive. 6-1 at Home is as well.

Buckweath 09-22-2019 08:28 PM

Pats and Chiefs will always be close but the Pats have more risk, meaning they have a 42 year old QB, Edelman is kinda old at 32, Gordon, Brown which risk materialized, etc.

I do think the Pats defense is good but not buying it is top 5 for a second. They have faced the worst offenses in the league so far with backup QBs.

Patrick's ability to avoid the pass rush is something Peyton never had. An extra weapon if you will. Prime Rodgers is the only one that has similar ability to Mahomes with throwing on the run (accuracy/velocity) or off the back foot, etc.

Faketriots played an actively tanking team and a team playing their third string QB in back to back weeks.

Just saying.

Witten did it. Would anyone be shocked if Gronk does the same? Skip all the BS in training camp, avoid about 13 weeks of hits during the season, etc.

staylor26 09-22-2019 10:10 PM

Lol have any of you seen Gronk lately?

He’s lost a ton of weight. And he recently said he’s had like 20 concussions.

It’s very unlikely he comes back this year.

petegz28 09-22-2019 10:12 PM

So just saw a stat that said the Pats strength of schedule so far is 0. Literally 0. While ours is the highest at .404 or something like that.

Baltimore (playoff team)
Houston (playoff team)
NE (playoff team)
Indy (playoff team)
Green Bay (playoff team)
Chicago (playoff team)

yeah, that's a cake schedule. Not nearly as hard as playing Miami twice and the Jets twice......

**** Skip

Cheatriots SOV through the first 3 weeks is a whopping .000. Let that sink in.

YontsRBake 09-23-2019 12:09 AM

Gilmore is extremely overrated, gave up over 250 yards in man last playoffs. Watkins will just roast him again like he did in the AFC Champ.

Speed is what beats this Pats team, they bracketed Hill last year to compensate and left everything else 1 on 1. Good luck doing that this year with Mecole and Hill on the field at the same time lmao.

Jesus, I didn't realize how pathetic their schedule is. On top of the dumpster fires they've already played they still have a 5 game stretch of Bills, Redskins, Giants, Jets, and Browns. That's ****ing pathetic. Nothing that those cheating scumbags "accomplish" will ever impress me. They're a joke who gets handed Ws.

DTHOF 09-23-2019 04:47 AM

The better question is can their offense keep up with ours.

eDave 09-23-2019 04:51 AM

Patriots defense, Patriots offense.
Chiefs defense, Chiefs offense.

All 4 elements will be vastly different when we meet that what we are today.

Their November is fairly tough

Ravens, Eagles, Cowboys, Texans and Chiefs.
Everything else they should have no problems with.
