Big Bang Theory

Anyone else watch this show? I think it's fantastic. Great writing!

kstater 11-12-2007 07:46 PM

One of the only shows that makes me laugh.

DaKCMan AP 11-12-2007 07:49 PM

Oh yeah, there's this too:

I watch, very funny show. The ending last week was great (guys playing XBOX360 and the hot girls walk in). Sheldon is very well cast, perfect role for that guy.

Saw somewhere that, up until the last minute the guy who's playing Marc's grubby boyfriend Cliff on Ugly Betty was cast as Leonard.

Bob Dole 11-12-2007 08:52 PM

Watched it last week for the first time and laughed a number of times. (Which doesn't happen too often any more when watching network television.)

Fly O.T. McWall 11-12-2007 09:00 PM

great show.

Baby Lee 11-12-2007 09:01 PM

Oh, and you've heard of 'love to hate.'
This I'd characterize as 'hate to love.'
It's broad and predictible, but well executed, so that you know the zinger like 10 seconds ahead of time, but still laugh at it.
It's classic sitcom or tired sitcom, based on your degree of cynicism, but it's being executed as well as we've seen since Everybody Love Raymond.

StcChief 11-12-2007 09:33 PM

I think she could pass the pencil test. Maybe even a Kindergarten pencil...

REDHOTGTO 11-12-2007 09:40 PM

best new show of the year, hard to watch MNF with the new shows on monday night

kcxiv 11-12-2007 09:42 PM

Burn Notice is the best new show of the year. Had to correct ya.

KChiefs1 11-12-2007 09:48 PM

best new show of the year

BWillie 11-12-2007 11:41 PM

I haven't seen it even though it is airs on Mondays close to the show I always Tivo. I really like How I met your mother. It's a interesting show, pretty funny too

sd4chiefs 11-13-2007 12:09 AM

I don't understand why these four guys are so funny. They all seem normal too me.

Silock 11-13-2007 12:19 AM

Great show. Never miss it or How I Met Your Mother.

The "Laugh Track" on that show needs to go. And they need to move it to a 9pm time slot (8pm, Midwest) so that they can explore more "mature" story lines.

oaklandhater 11-13-2007 04:44 AM

I think it's kind of inferior to its big brother Two and a half men.

I'd agree with this. Predictable, yet funny.

I had a hard time imagining Charlie Sheen in a half hour comedy show.

"I Was Wrong"

Whoever is writing for Sheen is doing a good job with his acting style.

Of course Jon Cryer was pretty good in "Pretty in Pink" and "Hiding Out" so I have always liked his style of comedy.

Otter 09-30-2010 06:28 PM

Being on the east coast I won't post details but...

ROFL

EDIT:
Wow, it's really been 3 years since someone brought up this show? I thought I had dork friends here...wtf.

Buck 09-30-2010 09:05 PM

WTF...I actually came on to post about this show and Otter already bumped the 3 year old thread.

Anyways, I am going to give this show a shot, just one episode. My brothers and mom say its funny as hell, but the couple episodes I saw in the past were stupid. We'll see.

DaKCMan AP 09-30-2010 09:06 PM

Big Bang Theory still reeks of Awesome.

Buck 09-30-2010 09:12 PM

I remember watching like the first episode...how does the elevator still not work?

P.S. this show is garbage and not funny at all.

You may have to have some nerd in you to really get this show. I spent six years of college in science classes and currently work in the IT world so this is like a satire of my everyday life. I'm probably a couple cool neighbor kids that I was lucky enough to grow up next to and with as well as a big brother away from being Sheldon.

How I met your mother will give me the occasional laugh but I love this show. I think Seinfled was the last one that came close for me enjoying this much.

Classic, love it.

I love Modern Family. I've tried several times to watch Community. It just doesnt click with me.

DaKCMan AP 10-01-2010 07:37 AM

Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Community are all hilarious and unique in their own way in addition to, IMO, being the best show on each of their respective networks.

The Office is still my favorite, though it is losing steam. I would love to watch 30Rock, but I cannot tolerate Tracy Morgan.

Actually its very easy. It's not funny at all. I didn't even crack a smile the entire show.

It was basically fart jokes, that weren't funny.

Also the whole Steve Wozniak part was stupid.

To be fair, that was a spectacularly bad episode of the show. By far the worst I've ever seen. Dunno if it's a portent or a glitch, time will tell.

The fart joke surprised, only in that it was surprising that they actually went that broad. Gimmicks like a turning a character into a robot NEVER work, and when they retread previous ground [kitty song] with the morphed character it really really doesn't [and retroactively dings whatever cachet the retrod material had], knew immediately the Wos would be a painfully awkward bit.

Watched the entire episode [sans the few moments with Cuoco stretching] with my 'Son, I am disappoint' face.

allen_kcCard 10-01-2010 02:05 PM

Anyone know a good place to watch full episodes from CBS? I love that NBC lets you watch them right from the official page.

Wow. I didn't realize that BBT wasn't available on CBS for instant streaming. Thats odd.

aturnis 10-01-2010 04:30 PM

I've had good luck with Yidio. Can stream them using my PS3 too, so no tiny comp. screen. Might have to tinker around and navigate to find just what you want, but you can get them all.

Also, go to a damned video store, rent the seasons and burn them FFS. Pirate, it's your right. Especially if you don't know if you'll even like it. Don't know if you have Family Video or anything of the like around your area, can usually rent them for a dollar a disc. A few bucks for the whole season.

The episode with the robot was well below the standard they set but I still like the show. I'm hoping it hasn't outlived its originality like 2 1/2 men & How I'll Never F***ing Meet Your Mother have. Those shows have become a complete miss for me. We get it, Doogie Howser is really gay, but he plays a stud poon hound so over the top that he is simply fabulous.

The only reason I was still watching CBS Monday's was because of BBT & Rules of Engagement. Now BBT is on Thursday and I think it could die there, trying to compete with NBC's lineup of Community, Office & 30 Rock.

Rules of Engagement, Modern Fam, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Office & Community are my sitcoms now.

I watch Cougar Town because of Courtney Cox, who is still hot as hell. The show sucked early on but found itself late last season.

NBC's on Thursday is hard to beat right now. Last lineup I can recall on any network that I liked as much was ABC with Drew Carey, 2 Guys A Girl (& A Pizza Place) and Spin City. 2 Guys & a Girl was Ryan Reynolds start and had the delicious Traylor Howard in it.
