good. Smart move.

Let's see if Daly can unlock him.

Jerok 05-01-2020 09:18 PM

OMG VEACH

RealSNR 05-01-2020 09:19 PM

Last year he started playing for the Dolphins in Week 3. In spite of missing the beginning of the year and being inactive (healthy scratch) for four games, he was the team leader in sacks that year with 5.

God, the Dolphins sucked. They're the new overrated-as-**** team this year. I'm grateful they beat the Patriots, but people still have to remember just how bad they were. A successful stretch at the end of the season doesn't always mean playoff team the next year, which is the hot take out there right now.

SuperChief 05-01-2020 09:19 PM

This is the craziest time to be a Chiefs fan. I love it, but it's ****ing nutso right now.

Same thing in my books. My comment was neutral. Low risk signing that should not matter one way or another if it pans out or not because of the investment involved.

But of course you continue to act like a 10-year-old on this forum...

Rain Man 05-01-2020 09:51 PM

I've been following that guy since I drafted him in our alternate reality game a few years ago. He's such an inexplicable story.

First, he got drafted by the Cowboys, which screwed him over. They had Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory and David Irving and Tyrone Crawford and a couple of other guys. Charlton was a first-round pick so he should have earned his way onto the field, but it was a really crowded position. So he sank to the bottom of the bog. He was getting some playing time, but not much.

So then the Cowboys cut him and Miami picks him up, and he takes off. He's averaging a sack a game and I'm blaming Dallas for his failures, and then all of a sudden Miami benches him. They don't just bench him, they make him a healthy inactive for the back end of the season.

So we know he's got talent, but we also know that he's got a flaw that drives coaches crazy. He's not playing within the scheme or he can't recognize plays or he's a locker room problem or something. The key is whether Spagnuolo can maximize his talents and minimize whatever this seemingly fatal flaw is. But I trust the Chiefs' braintrust, so I think it'll be a win.

Chief Northman 05-01-2020 09:51 PM

He started 5 out of 10 games last season, and notched 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and averaged about 2+ tackles a game. Not bad for what equates to a rotational player.

Guys, I know a lot of us aren’t very excited about the Danna pick, but I highly suggest watching the East West Shrine game. Dude was unblockable and apparently that was the case all week at practice too.

I obviously went back and watched more film on him after the Chiefs drafted him, and I must say I love how he plays with leverage and he gets push. I think he’s got a good foundational skill set, and paired with his plus athleticism I think this guy can be a difference maker and play sooner than most think.

Master Chief 05-01-2020 09:58 PM

He was awful in Dallas and Miami — reports out of both camps are that his attitude is terrible. Based on his IG, he seems more obsessed with himself and banging hot models while showing off his cars and tattoos than he is with playing football.

But maybe he finds his drive here in KC. He obv has talent and is still young. He just needs and attitude adjustment.

That’s crazy. I remember the Cowboys being high on him when they drafted him. Talk about a low risk, high reward signing. I have a good feeling this will work out well. I would love to see him become a stud with us as a **** you to Jerruh.

he becomes a stud next year, he’ll sign with someone else the next year. A one year wonder is our ceiling. Down side is that he causes a locker room issue.

RunKC 05-01-2020 10:35 PM

Found our new Ogbah. Nice.

Then he’ll look good and get us a nice comp pick just like we did with Ogbah.

No, a one year wonder and a comp pick is our ceiling.

And no, he’s not going to “cause a locker room issue”. He will be cut before that happens.

That's what I'm seeing. Every guy on this is under a microscope by the rest of the NFL because we are the new standard on how you build a team. But we got Mahomes and they dont.

ThyKingdomCome15 05-02-2020 12:06 AM

Taco is this year's Ogbah experiment, indeed.

Bump 05-02-2020 12:15 AM

Breeland Speaks probably heard the news and ordered a few dozen taco's from taco bell to honor his new teammate.

ChiefsFanatic 05-02-2020 12:25 AM

OK, please don't kill the messenger, but I just had a stark, unsettling realization.

My beloved, Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, are the equivalent of the AL Davis Raiders when it comes to player acquisitions.

The Raiders used to be the team that drafted players with character issues, and who signed the players the rest of the league shunned because of off the field issues or a history of run-ins with law enforcement, etc.

And now that team is us. We draft players who have issues, like Hill, Peters, and now Willie Gay Jr. We acquired Frank Clark, and Breeland was just arrested, and on the heels of that news we sign Taco Charlton. And a few years ago we had a player commit murder & suicide.

But thank goodness there is still a difference between my Chiefs and those filthy, disgusting Raider teams. Our Head Coach has a history of helping men turn their life around, and Andy Reid wants to help these players become better team mates and better people. Al Davis never cared about those players, he just reveled in pissing off the commissioner, and enhancing his team's reputation as a bunch of bad apples.

I went to Oxnard, Ca with some family members to watch him during training camp. I always liked me some Taco, most of the fans there were stunned when he went to Miami. As soon as he made an appearance or play in TC the whole crowd would call out his name, good times... I'm happy he's here.

They have Tua coming off injury and Fitzmagic.

8-8 at best.

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-02-2020 08:32 AM

After watching the highlight video Dante84 put up I have no doubt this is a good signing by Veach. 1st round talent just needs a support staff and coaching. If he performs and I think he will there's no reason we can resign him after this year too.

Thats probably right, but don't sleep on that roster, its better than people think. And Flores is a damn good coach.

oldman 05-02-2020 08:34 AM

I think this is a good signing. He's (presumably) not breaking the bank and he does have talent. Whatever the reasons were for his failures in Dallas and Miami, he has to come to grips with the fact this is probably his last chance in the NFL. If he doesn't get with the program, buh-bye. Can't bang models, have the bling, and drink Cristal on a salary from McDonald's.
