Awesome! I like the years.

Awesome. I think Jones gets done too.

does that mean year 1 of that deal is this season?
That’s basically the Sammy Watkins deal. |
**** yeah.

Very nice.

I love it, 3 years and if he keeps kicking ass he gets paid again or we move on.
|
Most electric player in the NFL. So thrilled he's on our side and we get him for (at least) another few years.
|
Wow.
Nice use of money. Cheaper than I thought. |

Usually when they refer to extensions they count years after the present deal. In either event, I'd have preferred a bit more term, but I think this may be the norm with the new CBA coming. Players are going to be reluctant to tie much of their prime years up and Hill will get another shot at the FA market while he's still young enough to get paid. I was hoping for 5, but 3 will work. And it frees up the Tag to potentially use on Jones in a 1-year or tag/trade scenario. Good news for sure. |
So it's actually 1+ 3, right?
Wow....seems cheap too. |
So, you’re sayin Crystals attorneys phone is currently ringing? Behotch
|
I wonder if Brooke will tweet about this?
|
|
**** yeah. Good deal for both sides imo
|
That’s a discount.

54 million not bad at all

Brooke is gone and Hill gets paid. It’s a good day.

5.8 million signing bonus. Damn, that's not much and only 35 million guaranteed.

I don’t think it’s an accident that they waited to announce this until it was announced that she was gone. |

wow, only 3 years
Still awesome but I guess they will evaluate who they want to keep between hill and hardman in 3 years |
Veach dun good

The 3 'new' years on Michael Thomas's deal total right at $59 milllion, though they could pretty easily cut him after 2, I suspect they won't. Hill was never gonna be the guy to break the $20 million barrier for WRs, not with what's gone on. I would say that I'm honestly a little disappointed by the deal. If they're gonna give him that kind of AAV, I would've like the term that the Saints got on Thomas so they can at least have him locked in a bit longer. Dunno - we'll see how the structure works out. A lot is gained/lost in how the money is actually paid out. |
It's cool the nfl reddit is doing their best Brooke right now, apparently Tyreek Hill is worse than AB and the Chiefs tried to sneak this in because of all that drama.

Holy shit. |
Home town discount, too!!!

That would mean Tyreek would be turning 29 when he gets his next contract. |
Love it! Perfect amount of years too.

Great contract for both parties. Reek deserves it and I am glad he will be here during our Superbowl years.
Jones is next! |

Hill tracks the ball as well as anyone in the league and runs pristine routes. And if he loses a step, he's still faster than most guys out there. If Thomas loses a step, he's in some trouble. He won't be able to get separation at that point despite also being an elite route runner. Conventional wisdom is that 'speed guys' don't age as well but then you see Steve Smith and DeSean Jackson and realize that it's maybe a little overblown. They don't stay as fast as they were, but they still stay awfully damn fast. Meanwhile someone like Thomas, when he slows, just won't be able to pull away anymore and he'll become a 3rd down, red zone possession receiver. I like that they kept Hill a lot. And I think the AAV is about what should've been expected. If this was all they could get him to agree to then it's better than nothing. But I still wish we could've locked him in for another season or two as the cap figures continue to rise. He really could've been a screaming bargain in the last year or two of that deal. As it stands I think he'll be an elite player making roughly market rates. It's better than not having an elite player at all, but there's just a little less upside baked in here. |
Tyreek should tweet at Brooke Pryor “How do you like THOSE commas?”

I never expected them to tear up this season's deal - it wasn't a realistic ask by Hill or his reps. He didn't have that kind of leverage. I don't think holding out was a credible threat for him when he needed to get on the field and change the narrative on him. As for the guaranteed money, it's hard for me to worry about it a great deal when we're talking about a young player with premier skills and a shorter term deal. If we need to talk about cutting him, things have gone terribly awry. With a guy like this, who you hope plays all 4 years of the contract, the guaranteed portions are ancillary concerns, IMO. |
Don’t worry, Tyreek will get paid again after the 4 years are up. Hill/Mahomes is the new Montana/Rice

Like I said - I'm happy they got something done. And the team is in a better situation going forward for having done so. I'm just getting a little greedy there as someone who thinks there's a genuine HoF career arc for Hill here if he stays for the duration of his career. I want MORE years of control if I can get them because the connection between him and Mahomes is just unreal and it will get harder and harder to keep Hill at market as Mahomes gets to his. |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">There are also protections included in the deal that are believed to be fair for both sides, I'm told.</p>— Terez A. I’m very pleased with Veach’s cap management. Watkins, Honey Badger and Hill have 3 year deals instead of longer more risky contracts.
This has been planned well for Pat’s new contract |

I'm going to say this very politely.
I am ecstatic for Tyreek and the Chiefs. I am also very pleased that Brooke Pryor has found employment elsewhere. I seem nice. |

They probably waited to announce it until after she announced she gone and stuff. |
His off the field concerns duly seem to have been taking into account when looking at those numbers.
You manage the risk with provisions in the contract but also with the numbers. |

She's seems crazier than an outhouse rat. I wouldn't put it past her to make more stuff up, to try to extort money out of him and tarnish his name. As far as the signing, sweet! |

But as has been said, with the new CBA coming up it makes sense. |

Pretty team friendly deal seems like
|
The Jealousy it runs very hard, what you have is a bunch of fan bases that frankly know the Chiefs are a real threat. So what did they do? Convinced themselves that Hill was being suspended to give them a better chance and now that he isn't and the Chiefs are keeping him they are super pissed about it.
Nothing more than fans being mad they don't have Pat Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. |
Quote:
As has been pointed out, around $18-20Mill per is what he was always expected to get. |
Where all the dumb bitches that wanted him cut? You all can go **** yourselves. You don't deserve to celebrate this if you said he needs to be released after that chopped up video was played on KCTV5. You stupid ****s need to drink some antifreeze. ****in morans

Wonder if having Brooke fired and forcing her out of town was part of the contract negotiation privately ROFL
1. get brooke run out of town 2. team friendly deal I hope so, that would be gangsta! |
