Well that sucks, but I have a hard time seeing more than a game or 2 suspension for this.

You have got to be freaking kidding me.
Absolutely unreal. :doh!: |
Maybe Frank would like to ride along with Clay to West Plains??

Perfect. We need more distractions. We also need more negative things in the media. As many as possible as often as possible.

It’s June. |
What are these guys doing in their off time that requires them to carry a gun?
|
Maybe this will help him not play like such a bitch.
|
WTF
|
An Uzi? What is this, Compton during the 80's?
|
That’s strange……was Von Miller with him?
Perhaps he has to pick up his stomach meds in a tough part of town? At least he was smart enough to try and blend in and not draw unwanted attention while committing a crime. I too would choose a Lamborghini SUV for that task. |

Maybe Spags will let him conceal carry that Uzi on the field???
|
The worry isn't the suspension. The threat here is actual jail time. He got caught with an uzi in California. That's not good.
|
This is Kalifornika we're talking about. And TMZ, which has not been a fount of reliable news, well, ever.
There's a 50% chance they arrested him for having an airsoft pseudo-Uzi. |
ISn't that a felony?
|
I'm not at all a "gun guy." Is this illegal because uzi's specifically are banned in California, or is there some other element at play here that I'm missing?

Please please tell me this voids his contract

But aside from all of that, Kalifornika's gun control regs are draconian; only NY is stricter, or more zealously idiotic, depending on your POV. |

I'm guessing they don't but just a thought |

They are restricted. But anyone with the time, money, and a pristine criminal record may own a fully automatic firearm, so long as it was manufactured before 1986. |

If this offense somehow voided the guarantees in his contract or some shit (I'm not sure how this stuff works) then it would give us some more wiggle room in getting out from underneath his contract. |
Fake news.

How stupid do you have to be to leave an opened duffel bag with an uzi just sitting there for cops to see when they pull you over? Zip it closed and it's your gym bag. But no. Just leave the uzi right out there for cops to see. Holy shit.
|
I wonder contract implications… would the chiefs be able to void any guarantees in the contract?

The one time he doesn't run himself out of the play

Frank Clark Arrested
Did I miss the thread?

How? Isn't he still in jail?
|
Maybe I missed him being arrested for a Uzi my bad

This is the kind of weird shit they should add to Madden's franchise mode. Add in some realism for crying out loud.

Defensive players are there to blow shit up. We all knew Frank wasn't splitting the atom in his down time. |
Here's the thing: if Clark were stopped in just about any other western state, and assuming that we're talking about the semi-auto version, most likely absolutely nothing would've happened.

****, I called Denver PD just to make sure I could drive through with an AR-10 in the car. You just don't take a chance. |
This really isn’t a big deal, slap on the wrist and fine.
Maybe 2 game suspension. |

I think that if you have a Class 3 firearms license and a federal tax stamp and a bunch of other taxes and hoops to be able to legally own a machine gun / fully automatic weapon.
So can you own a machine gun? Yes Can you actually afford and qualify for said ownership of weapon? it becomes extremely difficult for joe blow down the street to do such a thing. So throw in the license costs and then the Taxes per weapon on the federal level every year. Then what does the state restrict or make you pay in taxes every year per weapon. |

Felony possession, I sure hope you are right. |

Well, this all but guarantees he will be cut after next year (which was probably gonna happen anyway).
Hopefully he balls out for his final season with our beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Another Super Bowl title as a going away present . . . . . . . |
Clark is already out on $35,000 bail, so I wouldn't expect much, if any punishment from the NFL.
Chiefsplanet proclaims the worst possible outcome, as always. |
Defensive player, just adds character. Lions already offering trade.

Except that I forgot that I keep a gun in there, and that I'd have to pass through security. Now, on the way out from Phoenix this presented no problem at all, as I had my SIDA card and my CCW, I was in uniform, etc. So no one even blinked an eye at Sky Harbor. But coming back out of MDW, TSA initially freaked out a little. My gun was confiscated, I was taken to a room to answer some questions, etc. But eventually it was sorted out. I even got my gun back. Point being, you can get so used to things being "normal," that sometimes you forget that it might be a problem if you cross an imaginary line . . . |

Regular old handgun or a shotty? Fine. I was driving around with one in the car three weeks ago, in plain sight. A ****ing full-auto Uzi? There's a lot more to that story. Especially concerning Frank's past. |
It isn't clear whether this is a semi-auto or fully auto Uzi. If fully auto, I would expect federal involvement because ATF gets highly interested when they find a fully auto weapon.
California does prohibit firearms like an Uzi under their assault weapons ban. That ban was just declared unconstitutional, although that ruling has been stayed pending appeal. If the charge was based upon California's assault weapons ban, I would expect that the defense will try to use that decision as a defense. That may help with the simple possession of the firearm although it may not with carrying the firearm in a car, which would be a separate offense. Hard to say what the NFL will do. If the Uzi is fully automatic, I would expect the court would punish him fairly harshly and so would the NFL. If it is a semi-automatic, the odds of a lenient resolution from the court and the NFL go up substantially. Right now, though, it's just too early to tell. |
The Lambo SUV is arguably worse.
