Robert Pattinson... is Batman.
|
Better than Jake Gylenhall (sp?).
I’m more interested in the joker movie that’s coming soon with Joaquin Phoenix. That trailer was great. |
Interesting casting choice. Pattinson is set to star in Christopher Nolan's next film (coming out in the summer of 2020) ....coincidence??? Nolan probably put in a good word in to Matt Reeves and the casting was set.
Also , he has been impressive in some indie films over the years (Good Time, Lost City of Z and The Rover) . I'm willing to give him a chance . |
The Twilight homo is Batman? What?
|
GTFO i aint watching that shit.
What a stupid decision. Women don't care about Batman, and men sure as **** don't care about Robert Pattinson. |

I'm of a mind to not watch because it's him, but who would have thought Heath Ledger would have been a perfect Joker? No one, that's who.

Robert Pattinson is only known for playing a stoic glittery gay vampire. |
Nope. Won’t be watching this bullshit. How do you have a franchise that can literally print money...and you routinely just **** it up movie after movie?
|
I dont think anyone has seen his recent work. He was great in "Good Time".

Ben Affleck was a horrible choice for Batman...nobody has done a shitter job playing the role.
(Matt Reeves/Warner Bros): Hold my beer... |
Will this Batman ‘twinkle’ ?

Has anyone seen the trailer for the new Joker movie with Juaqin Phoenix or however you spell his name? The trailer is absolutely outstanding, so either the movie is going to be amazing or it is about to be terrible. Probably no middle ground

Same with Jake Gyllenhal, for the douche who commented saying he'd suck. |

He's supposed to be a younger Batman. He's gonna get big here soon I feel. |

When it was over, I stood up and yelled, "THAT SUCKED!" and the other people in the audience started applauding. LMAO |

I still say Armie Hammer would have made a fantastic Bruce Wayne/Batman. Not as good as Edward Gothvamp apparently, but still. |
I take it this means we're back to Batnipples?
|
I've never seen a Twilight movie, but you guys should see some of Pattinson's more recent work if you wanna know what kind of actor he is. He's actually really ****ing good. I don't know if he's a fit for Batman, but I'm interested. Problem is DC will just **** this movie up no matter how good he is. Hell, Jared Leto could have been a good Joker in a halfway decent movie. The casting is almost never the issue.

I'll reserve judgement. It's not like he'd be the first guy to have a shit outing early but do a nice job later on.

Terrible Choice.

Transgender Batman is going to be incredible. Instead of fighting bad guys- he interjects meaningful dialog to make them think about their choices. Hugs for everyone!
|
Just a bunch of testosterone filled badasses in here that would never in a million years what that sparkling vampire homo in a Batman movie! Those movies started 11 years ago and ended 7 years ago, but you badasses keep being badasses and skip this one because of homosparklevamp.

Again who thought Ledger would be the perfect Joker? Just being good and respected doesnt mean he had the range and derangement to fit that role to perfection. No one thought he would be what he was. I defy any dummy to refute that fact.
|
Curious who everyone wanted as the next Batman?
I liked Affleck cause he was as comic book Batman as possible. Never got his own film and was terribly written. He pulled off the look imo and could've been better with a better director. I feel bad for him on how that ended up. Henry Cavill is also unfairly getting shafted by WB too. I still want a MOS 2 with a real director. I heard Armie Hammer was rumored which I kindve favored. Now I'm more intrigued with Pattinson... forget the stupid af Vampire movies...he can really act. Hopefully he proves everyone wrong. |

Watch this min clip or text below. NSFW for language. https://twitter.com/THR/status/1019615836783325184?s=19 "When I wrote The Dark Knight, Chris [Nolan] had to figure out how we’d tackle the Joker,” Nolan explained. “Chris had a good meeting with Heath Ledger. And no one got it — I didn’t get it, the studio didn’t get it. And the fan community was … we were ****ing pilloried for it. “Disaster, worst casting decision ever!” Chris just stuck to his guns. It was a question of not giving the fans what they’re asking for but what they want — which is, “Let’s find a really ****in’ serious actor, somebody who’s going to come in and just tear this role to pieces.” |
Also 'Good Time' is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Apparently Penguin and Catwoman will be two of the rogues he's fighting

Can't imagine in what universe it is acceptable to have a ghey vampire become Batman.

Back to reality, you might want to check the crap that actors you think are fantastic actors now were in when they first started out as actors. Spoiler alert........ they have all been in crap roles and movies. |

That's what he's known for. He sure AF isn't "Known" for indie movies. It's going to be hard for him to shed that image. Most will watch this movie and go, "Oh look there's a glittery gay vampire playing Batman". |

I’ve never watched a single movie this guy is in, so in that sense I’ll be going in without any preconceived notions and just might like him in the role

Anyone who's paid attention knows that Pattison's established himself as a good, talented actor since the Twilight movies ended like 30 years ago. |
I have to say I thought it was a really good choice, so maybe I'll be wrong. He's not a 20 year old shooting kiddie vampire movies anymore, and Matt Reeves seems to know what he's doing. I'm surprised so many people seem to be against it.

My problem with the casting isn't so much his Twilight laden resume as much as his look screams relapsed-recovering meth addict.
https://i.imgur.com/BTOs2Sx.png His acting is wooden and stale. Watch him in Damsel or High Life... he is literally just a (if you are into the meth look) pretty face reciting lines. There is no depth to his acting. Compare him in Good Time to Afflec in The Town (same type of pacing) if you want to see the difference in ability to express, believably, a range of emotions larger than just high and bored. It seems as if the piece of greatest importance to the casting director was... who can pull off "handsome while brooding". |
Quote:
Bruce Wayne is the most stale, wooden 'alter ego' in the superhero biz. He's literally just a handsome billionaire, sometimes pretending to be playboy (to keep up the ruse), while brooding incessantly. As Batman he shows even less emotion. |
Quote:
Of course, that is just my opinion and therefore subjective. I hope I'm wrong and I love him as much as I did Ledger as the Joker. |

Considering Ledgers resume at the time, my guess is that Nolan watched LoD and saw the potential of Joker. |

Wuuuttt!? I dont want some homo cowboy portraying the Joker! Yeah, I'm glad dipshits dont get to make these choices. |

I actually think he will do a good job.
Afleck did a good comic Batman also outside of the comedy bits. |

@elmayimbe: BATMAN UPDATE: Robert Pattinson & Nicholas Hoult are screen testing for the role. I suspect they're screen testing in the Batsuit because Wardrobe Department will need full wardrobe test. Additionally, the film will now start production in Q1 2020.[emoji1660] https://twitter.com/elmayimbe/status...354309/photo/1
I still prefer Pattinson |

I would have been fine with Hoult. He can really disappear in a role. I didn't realize until long after I saw the new Mad Max movie that he was the same guy I'd seen in Warm Bodies.
