Damn, I guess he really took his advice to heart, having diabetes at 51 and living til you're 80.

Shaid 08-01-2020 09:36 PM

I thought that dude was in his 80s like 20 years ago.

He was a fantastic character actor. Never saw him in anything where he didn't give a great performance. RIP

Rasputin 08-01-2020 10:12 PM

Post Master General it was his job and he was pretty damn serious about it.

One of my favorite Wilford Brimley scenes, from Absence of Malice.

40 year old movie, and he looked older than dirt back then, even though he was younger than I am now.

Check your blood sugar. Check it often. There's no reason not to.

Good movie.

One of my fave roles of his was in The Firm. Because he played against type

“Do I look like a ****in night watchman to you!”

RIP. He was great.

I had this typed out and I actually put 8 years older thinking that it was an exaggeration.

I came on here to post about this movie. It is a great movie. Well worth watching. And he did a great job as the US Attorney in Miami. Although if he wanted make it realistic, he should have bitten a stripper’s boob.

He was also really creepy and threatening in The Firm. Good actor.

This right here!

Always felt he was playing himself, which some say are the very best actors.

Guy did a hell of a job representing a no bullshit approach. Just straight up. Like a rock solid father/grandpa.

RIP

On a side note, this made me want to watch ‘Cocoon’ again. But apparently it’s not available to stream anywhere? Strange.

I live about a mile from where they filmed the swimming pool scenes and kept the alien eggs. It was just an outdoor pool. The owner agreed to let them film there since they were going to build the enclosure over the pool. It's still there. The old peoples houses are still there but the land is getting so valuable with millennial's moving into the area, its not going to last much longer.

The Thing is absolutely brilliant. Yes.

But I haven’t seen Cocoon in 30 years probably.

The one with Marshall Mat Dillon as the thing because that was horrible. I think it had been remade twice since the original though.
