For the entire month of October I make it a point to watch as many scary movies as possible, particularly the Halloweens. That said, #3 sucks because there's no Michael Myers and #6 is actually pretty bad as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
I love all the classics
First two Halloween’s Rob Zombies remakes of them First two or three Friday the 13th’s and Freddy Kreugers But one that doesn’t get enough credit is The Blair Witch Project, much like the Shining it doesn’t need a lot of blood and gore to ramp up the psychological chills... it’s just a great, original movie that plays out the way I imagine a real haunting would |

The others were Christmas With the Kranks (a briliant selection from the gf at the time wanting to further express her holiday cheer) the other was The Arrival. Just a boring as hell movie. |

1950s Hammer Studio, at least a couple of those every Halloween season.

Admittedly I don't really watch horror movies anymore (the wife won't watch them at all), but my favorite is American Werewolf in London.

And the reboot actually wasn't half bad either IMO |

The Thing (one of my top 10 favs), Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead, Halloween. Thing is, I watched them all when there were no sports so I don't know if I'll watch them this year.

Every Saturday night during October I stay up as late as I can and watch as many different scary movies as I can. Then wake up and watch NFL all day. One of my favorite months of the year!

On the other hand, when I saw the Exorcist (granted, on TV, not in the theater) a couple of years later, it didn't really bother me at all. I thought the demon was funny. :D |

I'm really not a fan of horror movies at all. But I I were going to show a double feature it would be Psycho and Silence of the Lambs.

I love the ambiguous ending |

Pyscho II is a pretty damn good movie too. |

Probably my all time favorite is Alfred Hitchcock The Birds I own it and don't know how many times I've watched it.

A few years ago, I finally watched the Exorcist with a friend and his adult son, all the way through.
Having never seen it mostly and the fact it was from 70s, something stood out that was hilarious. When the mom is in the doctors office..he's sitting there in his office, smoking a cigarette! As soon as I realized that, I laughed and cheered and fist pumped! Such a 70s moment in film! And then we saw Young Frankenstein. :) |

And the whole huge wing of that massive complex where it happened was still completely boarded up... like a whole city block of one huge building just totally shut down |

I don't quite know what you mean about running gag but I suppose i've talked a lot about this movie over the years. I don't know why i love it so much i just do. Its not a typical horror movie with a monster or beast or evil doers but nature vs man & random attacks without any known reason what so ever. I sometimes look at birds that are all along a telephone wires and think are they going attack? |
Watching Rosemary's Baby
|
In '86 Night of the Creeps came out and I saw on it HBO and it always stuck with me. Tom Atkins the main character seems to play these sort of tongue in cheek parts.
My favorite line: "I got good news and bad news girls, the good news is your dates are here, (what's the bad news), they're dead! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kvEiUBS-_rc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Just watched Friday the 13th 2009 edition. MEH!
|
Watched Vampires' W/ James Woods - fun but, not scary.
|
Will watch Exorcist as my Halloween selection! :thumb:
|
I’ve tried to watch something about every single day of October — embracing Spooktober and all. Halloween (78) is the GOAT for me.
A really underrated one is Trick ‘r Treat (2007). |

And there’s currently a decent copy of the movie on YouTube |
Vacancy is a pretty good movie to watch.

There's been so much new horror content released this month between Hulu/Netflix/Amazon that i've been mostly just been watching new stuff.

Teenage nostalgia. One more to add to the "Don't forget about me list": 30 Days of Night. 13 Ghosts didn't age well IMO, 30 Days of Night has aged as well any horror movie in recent memory. |
Saw a Spanish flick on Netflix the other night called "Platform". Dystopian prison. Quite good.
|
If anyone says Hocus Pocus-they need to die.

And actually just re-watched 30 Days of Night over the weekend. Still pretty decent! I'm not a huge fan of vampire flicks but I like Josh Hartnett. |

Burton's Sleepy Hollow has always been tradition for me around Halloween. Been watching some newer stuff, too. Hereditary was pretty good. Free through amazon prime video.
|
Fox is showing Slender man, back to back, now

The original Fright Night is a great movie. Has to be one of my favorites.
I always really enjoyed Ghoulies II. The first Ghoulies movie was pretty bleh, Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College is absurdly dumb, and Ghoulies IV is so downright shitty it's almost good. But Ghoulies II is pretty decent. And the Critters series is good. Especially the first one. Something about the Ghoulies movies when I was a kid had me intrigued. How the hell can a horror-loving kid in the 80s walk through a video store, see this VHS box art and not want to check it out? https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/...zNDI@._V1_.jpg |

I guess I've watched too many procedural crime shows. :D |
Two must watches every year are "Halloween" the original and "Night Of The Living Dead". Both classics for me. I also like to throw in "Creepshow" and "The Twilight Zone"
|
Just watched Would You Rather. I recommend watching it, I think better than Saw but what an Effed up game it is.
