Right....
|
He ****ing better be.
|
About damn time. And let's hope he plays Defensive Tackle.
|
He’s not good against the run as a DT or DE. Let him rest another week.
|
Fingers crossed he's back on the inside. Would love to see his stats at DT vs. DE. In addition to pressures, sacks and tackles... seems like Jones was tipping a pass at least once in most games while at DT. Not sure he's had one at DE.
SR, can you DM Spags and have him end the experiment? |
Hate to inconvenience him.
|
Is Mike Pennel starting?
Sigh. We miss that guy way more than is recognized. |
The source that relayed the Thornhill news last week is now telling me Jones is going back to DT.
|
Per Bob Fescoe…

Jones against the most sacked QB in the NFL

If the Defense is “fixed” from benching Sorensen for Thornhill and moving Jones back inside, it’s really going to be hard for me to make the “coaches know better than the fans” argument again.
I always assume there is something the coaches see that we don’t to justify some of these odd decisions. These two moves seem pretty obvious given the early returns of the season. |
Last week WFT had three sacks on Mahomes, Chiefs had ZERO. No Big Mac for you!!! BTW: I noticed I haven't seen the Chris Jones Big Mac commercial on TV lately. Guess they're re-shooting it with Mike Danna...

They absolutely never saw us adding Jarran Reed at DT and when they did, it made the most sense to move a DT to DE to balance the line. Similar to what Andy talks about with the OL putting “the best 5 guys on the field” philosophy. It was absolutely worth taking a swing at it and it’s a shame Jones at DE didn’t work both times they tried (brief stint in 2018) but it’s gonna be nice having his disruptive talents back where they are most effective. Let’s just hope the days of “selling out for a sack, leaving wide open running lanes” are over and he is a smarter DL. If not, Derrick Henry is about to have a career game. |

It's interesting to me that they're already pulling the plug on the DE experiment.
Jones must have hated it as much as I originally did. |
It was a dumb ****ing idea to start out with...
Rams - “let’s move arron Donald to DE” That sounds just as reeruned as what we did |
His spirit doesn’t like Derrick Henry so doubtful he will be back.

Back or not, it won't make any difference if he lines up at DE.

This would be only the second game this season that BOTH Chris Jones and Frank Clark have played in.

He can't like his results playing outside, all must know it's not working.

If that move works out well, I’ll never quite understand why the staff seemed reluctant to make the move. And yes, the coaches know better than us the majority of the time. This one is still a head scratcher though. |

BlackOp theory time: Spags played Jones at DT too much for his liking in the Philly game. Jones is saying fine, then I’m not playing until I’m 100% healthy.
Jones basically said he was making a business decision in a tweet. Andy said it was a distraction. We know how bad Jones wanted to play DE full time. |

Lets hope that Jones has it in his "Spirit" to play and give 100%.
I'm not sure where he's best against the run, but he is definitely better at rushing the passer at DT. |
Is this true?
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Chris Jones has played a total of 202 snaps and has 0 missed tackles. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Chiefs</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ChiefsKingdom?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ChiefsKingdom</a></p>— Chiefs Hive (@chiefshive) <a href="https://twitter.com/chiefshive/status/1450538514781716482?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 19, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

It doesn't even make sense having Jones at DE. Having a disruptive DT that can pressure the QB does so much more for you than an edge rusher. DTs can get to the QB faster as they are closer and they don't allow the QB to step into the pocket, so they help the edge rushers get more pressure.
Move him back Spugs. I refuse to call him Spags anymore, although I will occasionally call him Spaghetti. |

You just seem to have become awfully negative this year in a Red Dawg-ish sort of way and I hadn't remembered that sort of pessimism in the past from you. And does the above imply that you're supportive of Sorenson and our special teams specialist Lammons who has 3 penalties? Because I would think you could spread some of your negativity in their direction to ease the load on more productive players like CJ. |

Remember when I said..."watch for KC to "magically" get their defense back in order"...well, they just pitched a shut out in the 2nd half the following game. It really pisses you guys off...it's amusing as I dont take the NFL for more than entertainment. It's fun escapism embedded in me from a young age...like watching a movie. You can get involved in it..even though you know it isn't entirely real. The actors are invested in it ..at that moment. I get pissed as the game is happening...but that usually ends when it's over...too many times watching Clete destroy my fantasy. The Chiefs sucking for the first 5-6 weeks was good for the health of the NFL and their new 17 game season. If you can allow yourself to be honest...this season is much more entertaining than last year. KC coasted the entire year...was almost boring. They are actually better on offense this year than in Mahomes career. Like I told another poster...get back to me around week 10. He was saying they wouldn't even make the post-season. |

Edit: LMAO you ****ing dork, you posted your supposed "insider info" crap about Thornhill starting over Sorenson Saturday afternoon. Like we didn't have an entire weeks worth of practice reports that made it painfully obvious. ROFL |
Didn't he lose weight to play DE? Meaning he needs to gain again to play DT?
|
Nothing says you don't care about specific players anymore than bitching about them incessantly.

He was an all pro tackle because he was closer to the QB in the middle of the line and could get there faster. I think they just fell too much in love with what he did on limited snaps outside on obvious passing downs last year. |

Hopefully Frank Clark has been taking his Immodium every day so he can play Sunday.
