I'll go on record.
I'm not a huge fan of trading the 29, however at 29 there is no guarantee the player would be an impact player. If I heard that the Chiefs drafted a solid edge rusher that fits the scheme and has no injury history, who fell in the draft to 29 due to some off field issues 5 years ago....I'd probably be good with that. I've spent a lot of years concerning myself with the price of contracts and impacts on salary cap....and i've never seen a championship. F it. It's not my 105M. The entire team can't be choir boys....Clark is a known commodity, he's a proven pass rusher and he'll be an upgrade at a position of need. My prediction is, by week 3 fans will be happy with this player being a Chief....until he gets in trouble. Bring me the Big trophy and I don't care.... |

Huge fan of this trade. We were not getting an impact player at 29, and to trade up to get an UNPROVEN COMMODITY would've cost at LEAST the 2nd next year.
WELCOME TO KC FRANK CLARK!!!!!!!!! |
We could still give up a second and move up to select an impact player.
This defense will be very improved from last season. |

And then Veach goes on to say that it isn't a great S class. Those dudes we like are going to slip... And if an Adderly slips to us in the 2nd and Veach takes him, everyone will LOVE this offseason. |

Has Dee Ford ever held the edge like this in run support? This is a big part of the upgrade.

So so so disgusted by that trade.
Most of all the compensation which is horrendous but then giving Clark the exact same contract as Demarcus Lawrence, 21M per season. |

This defense needed a mean streak.
A big, scary asshole might be just the injection of toughness the defense didn't have last season. With his experience in theft, we'll be happy when he steals Tom Brady's soul to get KC into the big game. |
Its ****ing weird, for some reason people love cap space, you use that space and it's negative. Why have it to not use it?

I don't get it either. Cap Space isn't a ****ing savings account. It exists so you can spend it. Chiefs freed up space to USE it. Not stare at it on a piece of paper. |
What are the comparables?
Picks for Mack - Bears are more than happy Picks for Allen - Vikes were very happy with Allen's production there Others? |

What were we paying Houston? 22M? Yeah im good with it. |
Think it would have taken this much to get Peterson? Who would have preferred Peterson over Clark?

And you never know, maybe shit deteriorates with AZ/Peterson and he can be had sometime between camp and week 6. I don't think it takes much more than a 3rd to get Peterson. 2nd on the high side. |

As long as you think of it as a early 2nd this year and probably a late second (could even be the 64th pick) next year, it's not a bad deal at all. It's just that combined with the contract.... Oh well. Defense should be a whole lot tougher and meaner this year.

I fear that Tyreek screwed himself as well. When and if he is found guilty he is going to miss time that much is pretty much guaranteed. It will shake out much like Peterson maybe even a little worse. |
How the **** is it wrong to want to see our management get better compensation in trade-outs???
What the **** is WRONG with some of you? I swear to God some of you are like little kids who get a new toy and don't even think about what mom and dad had to pay for it, or if they had to work overtime and skip some lunches to buy it for you! **** me. |

Mentioned on @nflnetwork I wouldn't think Frank Clark's pending deal would stop the #Chiefs from following through on a Chris Jones deal as well. They've been talking. He's going to get paid a ton. Dee Ford and #29 for Frank Clark is a deal I'm fine with.

That's ALL that matters. Picks are an asset. An asset you use to put talent on the field. Same goes for cap space. We spent some assets to put talent on the field. That's what the Chiefs SHOULD be doing. And we still have two 2nd's and a 3rd this year. |

I'm in Mexico right now but this is a terrible trade. Veach basically traded for a 1 year window. it's a fireable offense.

Effort? Clark versus the #Chiefs is backside DE. DUDE. We just got an elite all around DE that is literally a perfect fit for our new 4-3 defense. Have you watched his film at all? Have you watched him just throw Fisher into Mahomes? For a #29 and a late 2020 2nd pick, we just got a 25 year old elite DE. For less on average than we would've paid Houston this year. What the **** is wrong with you? He's a STUD. He's better than anyone we could've drafted. If we'd have traded up for like NICK BOSA maybe, and we would've had to give up a LOT more to go get him. He's ELITE. |

Time will tell. |
If we can get a CB or a safety our defense can be top 1. Our line is already top 5.
