No way should we be comfortable with Morris at left tackle. He showed he could be a disaster last year. Maybe he will improve in his second year. But we can’t go in relying on him being a starter.

I remain really high on him. I do question how high Reid and Veach will be with that arm length. Bernhard Raimann has 32-7/8" arms and he's developing into one of the top-tier LTs in the game. He had a much bigger leap in the quality of competition as a rookie and had much less polish. He played pretty damned good in his 2nd season.

So yeah, I can see him potentially staying at LT and being successful. He's athletic and he has huge hands (10-7/8) and great grip strength, which really helps offset some of the worry with his arms. I'd be 100% on board if Veach took this guy at the bottom of 1.

The early estimates were a low 2nd to high 3rd.

All these reports of interest got people's peckers raised for more. It may happen or may not but GM's hate trading high draft picks for guys that require big contracts. You're using resources on both ends...

If he accepts a third, I would say in the chiefs opinion there is no way we can keep him under the tag and put together the rest of the team under the cap. That in tagging him the sole purpose was to get a pick this year and it is maybe lower then what Veech wanted but still it is better then nothing.

There's always more to the story than we know.

And no disrespect to those trying to put the puzzle pieces together who may come to the conclusion that Veach misplayed his hand... but, much of the bitching is people using hindsight to act like they're the smartest person in the room while Veach is trying to put together a puzzle with many pieces face-down.

He didn't have a crystal ball when they tagged Sneed.... oh well.
