The quarterback matchup I'm most looking forward to is Patrick Mahomes versus Aaron Rodgers. Each player can certainly make a claim for being the best in the game at the position. And as a fan of the Chicago Bears, I'm rooting for this to become a twice-a-year rivalry with Rodgers as a member of the Denver Broncos. Think of the matchups that would happen if this hypothetical trade were completed, with Mahomes, Rodgers, Justin Herbert and Derek Carr in the AFC West. That would be like an old-school four-corners match in wrestling. I would love to see it. Mostly for Rodgers being out of the NFC North. But as a football fan, too. So, I'd prefer two (a guy can dream, right?) but I suppose I can settle for one meeting between two of the last three MVP winners.

This was before Goodell...and his desire to build a global empire. That was pre-internet NFL...

They have been "fixing" games since it's inception...it's why the NFL was created. ...but billion dollar broadcast deals made it paramount to keep games close to warrant the investment and boost advertising.

Multi-billion dollar gambling rose from the advent of the internet...right around the time Goodell became commissioner. It was when the internet became able to support it.

Now they have ties with Vegas..out in the open. Manipulating point spreads is a billion dollar industry...the casinos made 10s of millions just off the 1st Raider/Chiefs game. Just a questionable call/no call here or there...

People were talking about why the Chiefs would go into hibernation in the second half...because a Mahomes offense is a Vegas nightmare. You'll start to see this implemented even more overt in the future..not with just the Chiefs.

They will never relinquish their ability to make 100s of millions off a few bogus calls...and "THEY" own the NFL...they can do what ever they want...and those who work for them...WORK for them. There is a structure of power here...Coaches arent allowed to publicly question the officials and officials arent allowed to speak publicly either. They have a gag order...think about that.

If you think it's legit...by all means ..buy tickets, take your kids...enjoy it...nothing wrong with a little escapism...

I still like the draft and the concept/strategy of team building...it's entertainment/diversion. I dont put much stock in the legitimacy of outcomes...and I haven't been wrong the past 4 years. I predicted a LA team in the SB...and they got there by the worst call in playoff history.
