You know what I'm talking about! The music begins blasting the Ghostbusters theme, and then switches to Soul Man. A stocky fellow in a suit and fedora backs out onto the stage, dancing in a Blues Brothers style. He backs up to the microphone, then turns around, and ...

...oh. It's just Jim Belushi.

The crowd sets aside their disappointment, because hey, John has been dead for years. What did they expect?

Jim steps to the stage, makes an oblique reference to his TV series "According to Jim", and then amidst an uncomfortable silence, says,

The Chicago Bears select Montre Hartage, CB, Northwestern.

A hometown guy makes a hometown pick.

Rain Man 04-09-2019 11:44 AM

To assuage the crowd, Jim brings his former "According to Jim" co-star Courtney Thorne Smith onto the stage, and together they PM New England to let them know that they're on the clock.

I'm not sure that a Jim Belushi-Courtney Thorne Smith coupling is realistic for a number of reasons, but whatever.

Chicago gifted most of our draft picks to others, but we're very happy with our additions.

3-88 - Miles Sanders, RB, Penn State
4-127 - Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M
5-163 - Cole Tracy, K, LSU
7-240 - Montre Hartage, CB, Northwestern

Three of our four guys are likely to walk directly into starting jobs, and Hartage will likely get good playing time. Not bad for a team that had no picks until late in Round 3.

I was really torn between Hartage and another player in the 7th round. Both could have helped the team. I wish we had one more 7th round pick.

The New England Patriots select Karan Higdon, RB, Michigan

Bill has been looking at too many RBs this offseason to have it be more than a passing glance despite a full stable currently. It appears he wants a sure backup to Sony Michel as a lead back while James White will still have a major role. Higdon is that tough, quick, one-cut runner in a similar mold to Michel.

The Indianapolis Colts select Darius Slayton, WR, Auburn

staylor26 04-09-2019 07:21 PM

And that ends my Colts draft.

1. Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware
2. Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
2. N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona St.
3. Sean Bunting, CB, Central Michigan
4. Armon Watts, DT, Arkansas
4. Shareef Miller, EDGE, Penn St.
5. Beau Benzschawel, OG, Wisconsin
6. Jahlani Tavai, LB, Hawaii
7. Darius Slayton, WR Auburn

Extremely happy with this draft. I had more to work with than I did with the Jets, but I really got some tremendous value.

I wanted to take him so bad but figured I couldn't do 3 Auburn players in a row to one team. He's probably a round 4 pick, the latest I can see is round 5. Good pick

Thanks, yea I already picked Harry so I kept passing him up, but it’s the 7th and he has a different skill set so **** it.

I used to sit next to him at Bears games when I was a kid sitting in my grandma's STH seats. Nice guy....loves his beer lol.

Dallas selects Ronheen Bingham, DE, Arkansas state

Was slightly worried this guy wasn't even eligible, couldn't find him on a lot of internet big boards.

Chargem 04-10-2019 12:28 AM

Cowboys draft

58. Dallas - Chargem - Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia
91. Dallas – Chargem - Isaiah Buggs, DL, Alabama
129. Dallas - Chargem - Dawson Knox, TE, Ole Miss
137. Dallas - Chargem - Saivion Smith, CB, Alabama
166. Dallas - Chargem - Sutton Smith, EDGE, Northern Illinois
243. Dallas - Chargem - Ronheen Bingham, DE, Arkansas state

Feels rough without a 1st round pick, I don't really like how this fell
