Well it's definitely not that former Nub turd over in Manhattan, and I'm not sure who Wichita State is trotting out at qb this season.

ESPN Platforms Will Air 29 KU Men’s Basketball Games in 2022-23
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The ESPN family of networks will televise 29 Kansas men’s basketball games this coming season, including three games on Big Monday, according to the 2022-23 Big 12 Conference schedule released Friday. The Big 12 also announced that CBS will air three KU games.

For the 31st-consecutive season dating back to 1992-93, every Kansas game will be televised. Eight KU games will appear on Big 12 NOW, including three in conference play. Television and game-time information for the Jan. 28 at Kentucky will be announced at a later date.

Season tickets for Kansas men’s basketball home games are still available for the 2022-23 season. To become a season ticket holder, please click here or call the Kansas Athletics Ticket Office at 800-34-HAWKS. The link will take you to a seat map where you can select your seats in Allen Fieldhouse. Also available is a brand-new mini plan where fans are able to choose the games that fit best into their schedule. The 5-game plan starts at just $400 and includes multiple seating options within Allen Fieldhouse. Click here to choose your games now.

KU will play its first Big Monday game at Baylor on Jan. 23. KU will then host Texas on Monday, Feb. 6 and conclude its Big Monday slate at TCU on Feb. 20. Since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97, Kansas has appeared on more ESPN Big Monday contests than any other conference school. KU is 76-21 all-time on ESPN Big Monday (46-1 at home and 30-20 on the road), including 57-15 under head coach Bill Self (35-0 at home and 22-15 on the road). Additionally, KU has won 39-consecutive Big Monday games in Allen Fieldhouse. Overall, KU is 21-3 in its last 24 ESPN Big Monday contests.

CBS will broadcast two games from Allen Fieldhouse – Saturday, Dec. 31, against Oklahoma State and Saturday, Jan. 21, versus TCU. CBS will also air KU’s game at Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 11.

The Dec. 31 home game vs. Oklahoma State will tip off KU’s conference competition. The Jayhawks will then hit the road for games at Texas Tech on Jan. 3 and at West Virginia on Jan. 7. Kansas will play each league foe twice, as the conference’s round-robin format has dictated since the 2011-12 season.

Kansas released its nonconference schedule on June 28, featuring Allen Fieldhouse games against Indiana, Seton Hall and Harvard, as well as contests against Southern Utah and Texas Southern. The Seton Hall game is part of the Big 12/BIG EAST Battle. KU defeated Texas Southern in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament en route to the national title. KU will face Duke in the Champions Classic in Indianapolis on Nov. 15, and participate in the eight-team field at the Battle4Atlantis, Nov. 23-25. The Jayhawks will also play road games at Border Showdown foe Missouri on Dec. 11 and at Kentucky on Jan. 28 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

KU will officially tip off the 2022-23 season with the 38th annual Late Night in the Phog on Friday, Oct. 14, in Allen Fieldhouse.Kansas is coming off a 34-6 season in which it won its sixth national title, fourth in NCAA history. KU tied Baylor for first in the Big 12 regular season with a 14-4 record. It was KU’s NCAA-record 63rd conference regular-season title and 20th in the 26-year history of the Big 12. KU then won the Big 12 Tournament, advanced to its NCAA-record 32nd-consecutive NCAA Tournament, a streak that started in 1990, and its 16th Final Four. The Jayhawks won their last 11 games of the season en route to the NCAA title and became the all-time winningest program in college basketball history, currently at 2,357 wins.

Signed a combo guard. High level athlete.

Self continues to load up on the perimeter with lengthy guards. I wonder if he’s transitioning to continue to play more positionless basketball. If so, I’m in. Really tough for many teams to match up with, especially when you have a good stretch 4.

Just nabbed two lower level tickets for the first and second rounds in des Moines for $660 through pre-sale. The code is LASTSHOT if anyone needs it

cmh6476 10-07-2022 04:51 PM

I just posted this on Facebook if anyone here is interested

I have season tickets again for KU ball and won't make all the games. Section 10, row 4 seats 9 and 10. Not looking to make a profit, rather share costs and help save what you would pay on fees on a third party site if you bought tickets. I just confirmed a sale for the North Dakota State game and made $99 for the pair, net of fees so these are reasonable.

If anyone wants the exhibition game against Pitt State you're welcome to those for $40 for the pair. Otherwise I have Texas Southern, Seton Hall, Indiana (this one is pricey based on stubhub comps), and Harvard listed. I haven't really looked at all the conference games I'll attend after the first of the year, but if there's one of those you are really interested in let me know. I'll definitely work with you.

Feel free to share or tag others.

Only 1 exhibition. I suppose it's probably been a couple of years but I'm just now noticing that we only have 1 exhibition. Didn't it used to always be 2 exhibition games? Not that I mind. Like the NFL preseason, I always thought that was too many.

KU gave up their 2nd exhibition for the scrimmage against IL..... worked last year so they decided to try it again this year.

I read somewhere that having two exhibitions is still an option, within the NCAA rule - but KU has opted for one exhibition and one closed scrimmage (against Illinois this year, Tulsa last year)

..or what Scaga said a minute earlier

Ah, ok. That makes sense. Thanks.

I saw a video the other day that seemed like pro Illini guys. They were going on about they were pretty sure Illinois won the scrimmage. I'm just like, so what? It's a scrimmage. And Self's teams are not usually great early in the season anyway.

Rams Fan 11-02-2022 09:42 AM

Quote:

Kansas has imposed a four-game suspension for coach Bill Self and lead assistant Kurtis Townsend to begin the season in response to the NCAA's ongoing investigation into potential wrongdoing by its top two coaches, the school announced on Wednesday. The investigation into Kansas, which has yet to conclude as one of a handful of ongoing cases being adjudicated through the IARP process, began in 2017.

Both Self and Townsend were held off the road by Kansas during the June and July live recruiting period as the NCAA's probe into the program dragged on, a source told CBS Sports' Matt Norlander over the summer. That signaled perhaps the first self-imposed sanction from the school as part of a collaborative effort with the NCAA to finalize the investigation, though several other KU coaches were still on the road recruiting in that same span.

The suspensions for its top two coaches are just a small sliver of some of the self-imposed sanctions the school announced Wednesday as its case inches closer to a resolution. In addition to holding Self and Townsend off the road earlier this year, they have also included the following sanctions:

The reduction of four official visits during this academic year and in 2023-24.
The reduction of three total scholarships in Men's Basketball; to be distributed over the next three years.
The implementation of a six-week ban on recruiting communications, a six-week ban on unofficial visits and a thirteen-day reduction in the number of permissible recruiting days during the 2022-23 calendar year.
No official visits for 2022 Late Night in the Phog.

The NCAA's investigation into Kansas began in 2017 after the FBI investigation into bribery and corruption within college basketball ensnared the Jayhawks. KU received its Notice of Allegations from the NCAA in September 2019 that included three Level I violations -- the harshest in the NCAA rulebook -- which were tied to both recruiting improprieties, a lack of institutional control and a head coach responsibility charge levied against Self.

"We are hopeful these difficult self-imposed sanctions will assist in bringing the case to a conclusion," Kansas athletic director Travis Goff said in a statement. "Until then, we will continue to focus on supporting our outstanding Men's Basketball student-athletes and coaches. Assistant Coach Norm Roberts will serve as interim head coach during the first four games. Per confidentiality guidelines related to infraction cases, we are unable to comment in depth until there is full resolution of this matter."

Self and Townsend missing the first four games of the No. 5 Jayhawks' season would hold them out for contests against Nebraska Omaha on Nov. 7, North Dakota State on Nov. 10, No. 7 Duke in the Champions Classic on Nov. 15 and Southern Utah on Nov. 18. Their first game back in action will be Nov. 23 in the Battle 4 Atlantis against NC State.
https://www.cbssports.com/college-ba...investigation/

Does a self-imposed suspension just mean they're doing this so the NCAA doesn't do anything? Auburn did something similar with Pearl.

I feel like that's half-assed attempt, though. Auburn suspended its team from the tournament for a year.

This is why its a bit surprising that KU is doing anything. They've had their heels dug in for years, all of a sudden self-imposed penalties. (Wrist slap penalties, but an admission nonetheless)

Which makes me think this isn’t “self-imposed”. I wonder if it’s a deal they worked out with the NCAA behind closed doors.

I can only imagine how many national titles Self would have right now if he got the favorable calls that K State always seems to get.

Which makes me think this isn’t “self-imposed”. I wonder if it’s a deal they worked out with the NCAA behind closed doors.

It’s either a deal that was worked out or they are putting some real pressure on them to come to a deal. Something like this had been rumored to be in the works for a while.

I feel like that's half-assed attempt, though. Auburn suspended its team from the tournament for a year.

Because Auburn knew that team sucked anyway. Self is never going to allow KU to do that.
