I wasn't really into metal when Iced Earth came along. I'd moved on to other genres by that time. A friend of mine said the only remaining founding member was wanted by the FBI in connection with the Capitol Building situation earlier in the week (just an interesting sidenote) so I listened to some of their songs and I thought they were pretty good based on my tastes (singer rather than growler, heavy rythmic guitars, etc.).

I can't be much help as I lucked into my turntable (abandoned storage locker) but am in a similar boat as I'm looking for a 2nd for my basement area.

So I went ahead and took the plunge on a record player. Did a lot of reading and research and blah blah blah. This one seems to be a nice one per reviews, and I had to drive 45 minutes to pick it up at the Best Buy in St Joe because apparently there's a real shortage of new turntables out there. NFM, Best Buy, Amazon...bunch of backorder bullshit. Was definitely more than I wanted to throw out there at $300 but I am enjoying it so far.

Hadn’t realized just how much music I purchased in my life, until I visited my Mom who reminded me of the 5 milk crates of albums I had stored at her house for decades.

About 200 albums from the 70-early 90’s along with ~ 250 CDs from 90’s-00’s.

Purchased an AT LP-120 turntable last year and try to listen to a couple of old vynls each month.

Just finished a Little Feat double live (1978) AND Allman Bros double live Fillmore East (1971).

Memories separating seeds and stems back in the days....lol

I always like listening to this cover band except for the lead singer. To me his high tone only leads to a small window in songs they do where he shines. On covers his high voice sort of doesn't work they have to rely on soaring instrumental solo's which they are excellent at. Its probably just me but their first lead singer I thought was better.

Here is another example vocals just don't fit my ear but Max just kills the guitar solo.
